Catt it is hard for me to answer this as I have always sterred clear of competative fishing. I only go by my actual experience, for me it is getting an open mind and learning from all the fellas here who bring things to the table I do not see or pay attenion to. Actual water time , once I knew the basics is what does it fro me. I can not answer this question from the other perspective. I have fished with a couple of fellas this way, who fish in various club tournys and out fished them, who knows what that means. As for your syaing. I am 100% with it, Ike said something I add onto it, because Catt I use your saying a lot when I fish. Ike talked about not always fishing what you know, ( Your history) but fishing right whats in front of you. Both of your observations were just as important as lure selection this year 8-)

Beyond messing around I want to state this What ever music you like, it's cool. When I was studying drums, my uncle was leading me to Jazz, which i happened to like anyway. When I was 16 I snuck out to see 2 shows the same week, telling my folks I was going to a dance at my Catholic High School one show was JIMI HENDRIX; at the Cafe Wha ,in the Village and two nights later, MUDDY WATERS, at the Cheetah in Harlem. These shows rocked my senses and I wanted to play nothing but the blues. My teacher threw me out of his studio and berated me. I felt horrible so i would never in reality do that to anyone else. When a kid wanted tolearn something from me I always asked for his favorite album, so I could show him how to get to his favorite groove, even if it was metal When I bought home the First Mother's of Invention Album; FREAK OUT, I was down stairs, cranking it up. my mother and father flew downstatrs with mom wailing at the top of her lungs " IS THIS WHAT WE SENT YOU TO CATHOLIC SHCOOL FOR!"

Actually he payys him almost note for note, Stevies real magic was starting to show in his own tunes Even in Voodoo child, every solo comes from Jimis various takes of it including 2 acoustics. Remember Jimi had the head, the baisc melody of the tune and would IMPOVISE , ecah solo and I can tell you I have beeen blessed to have seen the two of them, both a number of times, and Stevie was getting to where Jimi was, he just need more time. Jimi never played the same tunes alike, he was a joy and an adventure to experience. He is the one person I would have loved to play drums behind, that will just have to reamin a dream. For the younger guys: Unfortunatley Jimi's live stuff ( how I judge a musician) can not be apreciated the way SRV life performances can, because of the limitations of the recording applications of the day. He had just a few enhancers available and baiscally used the feedback properties of jos Marshalls to get a lot of the sound he achieved.
