  1. ^ I concur. MH/XF is pretty much general purposed, and may or may not work well when finesse fishing, I'm not sure. Although I rarely see myself using the lures you mentioned, what I'd pay more attention to is reel speed
  2. honestly I do admit that I've kissed worse stuffs , but I can't for the life of mine imagine kissing a fish, unless: -I know for sure the pic will get me some fame (a WR, for instance, but once again something I think even further than impossibility) -the fish is cooked
  3. I have 4 Academy sports, 2 Basspro, 1 Gander (just looked it up), no wonder why I'm always broke
  4. it's obvious to me that adding unnecessary bearing would increase the weight of the reel by some amount, at least that was said on Tackletour. As far as I'm concerned, more bearings doesn't necessarily help much if you're looking at bearings alone. Revo SX/STX have like double the amount of ball bearings on a Curado, but what's the difference? More chances of bearing failure if low quality bearings are used I'd say.
  5. with silencer of course. Considering the size of the nation and an international impact China's been seeking, what was done was in fact not that much exceeding anyone's expectation. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if London is not successful trying to do better. That surely was something significant. Go Phelps ;D ;D ;D ;D
  6. sounds like spywares to me. This is probably old, but I guess it may help somehow Spybot search & destroy http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html For suspicious files, before opening them, make sure you have them checked here http://www.virustotal.com/ I know it may be quite time consuming sometimes, but it's worth it
  7. Just wanna add, this brings back the memory of my snakehead fishing time back in Vietnam. We would throw top water baits into the heaviest cover there was, and the fish, esp the females guarding the nest, would just go crazy. They went for the bait without hesitation and would put up quite a big fight, even those the size of your big toe. One time I ran out of bait and decided to test my luck with a piece of cork, successfully . Good ol' memory.
  8. I used to fish at a bayou about 10 miles from my house. There were catfish, gars, carps, BIG alligators (saw a 7ft + the other time, better watch where I step heh?) and a whole lot of turtles. I was reading some articles and obviously there were people that had had some luck with big bowfins. How do you catch them though? Hook, line, and most importantly, baits? Will my current bass setup (MF, 10# test) work? That place is well overpopulated with gars, I'm just tired of hooking on them and having to get the hook out of those toothy mouths.
  9. Antique roadshow always amazes me. Maybe try contacting the experts over there? http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/roadshow/index.html
  10. maybe try a bigger hook?
  11. 2 inches wont help much, what is really needed is strength so the rod won't fail in the middle of the fight if you get my drift ps. bigger butt>>> firmer grip thus more power ;D ;D

Bernie Mac show fan here. RIP Bernie
  13. E's are out? Thanks for letting me know 200E + M/MH Crucial would make a good combo for a variety of applications.
  14. For those who are much concerned about where something is made, I stumbled upon this while looking up some info about the truth behind labels, 'made in Italy' for example (not fishing related, trying to find a good wallet ). I'm not sure if this applies for things other than clothing and accessories or for regions outside Europe, but here it is: According to article 24 of the European Customs Code (Reg EEC 2913/1992), a product which has been made in two or more countries is considered to originate in the country where the final transformation or substantial work took place. Keep in mind 'final transformation or substantial work' may simply be putting on the label and sticker. BTW, flippin4it, how does a parabolic rod feel?
  15. black, motor oil, watermelon seed, red and some others occasionally, depending on water condition. edit: for your other q's, I would say the lighter the water, the lighter the bait. black: stained water and cloudy weather
  16. Run across some one eyed bass once after a while, all of then are healthy so I don't think it's a problem, except it does hurt for sure. Now what would you do if you hooked a fish to its only good eye? :
  17. speaking of which, sometimes the post office crews up the addresses and send your check to a different address. One time I received like 3 checks worth like 10 grands in total in the mail. Turned out they were meant for some law firms up north that has the same street number and one word different in street name as ours. Trashed them immediately without even looking further, I know just opening it means violating a federal offense :
  18. Palomar rules ;D ;D ;D
  19. Thanks for the responses. Carrots get my attention because of what they call nanotechnology or some sort, equal weight distribution and being lightweight. They indeed do look flamboyant, but I could care less ;D. I have been meaning to go to some store to actually try them in person together with some other brands; the only store I've been to recently was academy sports for baits. Just don't have the time : :
  20. I'd take a matter-of-fact approach. I am indeed a newbie to most people here, but at least I do catch fish by doing the right thing, most of which comes from here and some other places, and that makes it more than enough for me to share my limited yet useful knowledge. If they get offended by my advice then that's their problem, and it just adds up to the problems they already have, like buying an UL combo and 50lbs leaders in your case. I don;t feel guilty getting someone offended, I feel guilty not helping whenever I'm able to
  21. If the hook causes a fatal wound to the fish and I know 100% sure that it won't survive than sometimes I allow myself to keep it, if the fish is under keeping size of course, and make it a reason upon questioning, which I have yet to encounter. But more often than not I'll just let it go, the natural food chain would surely be able to take care of that.
  22. ^A good credit is good if you wanna start off a business, get a big loan or make major purchases like a house. Takes me like 2 years to pay off a car, so I guess it won't hurt as much as long as I'm able to get the cash flowing in and out
  23. I read both reviews on tackletour, but all they do is just providing general information and overall opinion, nowhere do I see a side to side comparison of the two. Can anyone of you guys who owns both give a brief comparison, like how they really feel in action? Thanks
  24. ...or having quite a 'below average' record that has nothing to lose like mine Old news, but funny http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/05/22/lifelock.flap.ap/index.html
