xps hooks??
I use a lot of the BPS XPS hooks and have never had any issues with them. A lot of hooks for the money compared to other brands. Later,

Weed gards on Jigs
That is the one area I am working on, the hook set! I have missed so many fish because of improper hook sets. I have to remember to really pull hard. Dink Whisperer do you think braid makes a big difference? I am currently using fluorocarbon. Later,

Quality Tackle Bag
How much do you want to spend? BPS and Cabelas both make some nice medium size bags and they are very reasonably priced. I have not seen the Ocheechobee bags at our local Wal-Marts at all this year. Just some soft Plano Bags. Falcon makes some very very nice bags, at least the older V6 and V12 bags were. I was told that the new Falcon bags and storage boxes are now made by Plano. Which is why I guess the new Plano Elite Bags look like the new Falcon bags. They are a little pricey though. Later,

STX or Premier
Wow, would never have thought that. I was considering getting one of these. Glad I haven't ordered one yet. Maybe I will get another STX for my son. He really needs something built like a tank. Later,

Curado 100d vs Citica E
The Citica E hands down. The main reason I say that is because the 100D does not have HEG(High Efficiency Gearing) like the Citica 200E does. Later,

Going to get new line
The BPS brand fluorocarbon is very good line, it is what I currently use. I have also heard good things about the new Berkley Professional Grade Fluorocarbon, but I have not tried any of it yet. I have also heard lots of good things about the Lake Fork Hybrid Fluorocarbon. Later,

Caught a fish on the first cast....
Me and my son went out this morning and he caught a nice 3lbs bass on the first cast and we did not get another bite the rest of the day! NOT ONE!!! So yeah I believe it is bad luck, at least at the moment.lol Later,

Favorite Type of Bassin'
Top water has always been my favorite till lately and lately I have fell prey to jig fishing. I am slowly learning there is no wrong way to fish a jig, no wrong time, to wrong water conditions, it just does not matter. Fish will hit a jig anytime and anywhere for pretty much any reason. Later,

Fishing through the rain
Me and a friend went fishing a couple weeks ago and it was looking like rain and he wanted to go home. I said no come on the fishing is getting ready to get good. I had no clue how good. Over the next 2 hours in a constant light rain shower we managed to catch about 60+ bass between the 2 of us. I was using a KVD Swim Jig and he was using a Wacky Worm. When the rain stopped all of a sudden so did the bite. It was an awesome day that is for sure. Later,

Revo STX or Curado E7?
As I stated earlier I have both reels and have been using both for a while now. The STX has stump pulling power and is my dedicated plippin/pitchin reel. It is a beast for these applications. For everything else I prefer the Curado, much easier to set and use IMO. They are both excellent reels, it all comes down to what you want to try and what you personally like. I don't feel you can go wrong with either. Later,

Revo STX or Curado E7?
I have both of these reels and I prefer the Curado to the STX. The Curado just feel more comfortable to me. Later,

Best Way to Transport Rods and Reels
A friend of mine is in the process of making me a custom rod holder and mounts which will allow me to mount my rods securely and safely to the roof rack of my Jeep Liberty. Will post pics and more info as it gets completed. Thanks,

Favorite Full Cork Rods
I really like the Avids and some of the Falcon Cara T7s are also full cork. But you don't like the new ACS reel seat. The Falcon Low Riders and Originals are also very nice. I thought for sure I would not like the slight hump in the handle on the Avids, but it is a lot more comfortable and enjoyable then the Power Hump from BPS. Later,

St. Croix users
Congrats to both of you on the edition of new children to the family. I would agree with Dink Whisperer on this one, the LTBS68MXF is the far better choice. Wish my local dealers would make that kind of mistake. Later,

How do you store your spinnerbaits?
I use the Falcon Spinner Bait box, holds 30 spinner baits and the Falcon Buzz Bait box holds 28 Buzz Baits. They are awesome. Plus BPS has all their hard storage boxes 20% off right now. Later,

Cavitron Buzzbait
I discovered that the fish strike these things so violently that a trailer hook just gets in the way. As you stated they attack it and swallow it. Haven't ever tried a trailer of any type, but I highly doubt one is needed. Later,

kistler rods.
The only Kistler rods made in the USA are the Helium series. All the rest of their rods are made in China and then inspected at their offices in the US. I was considering getting some of their Magnesium rods. Color would have gone nicely with my Curados. I went and looked at some, held them, put my reel on them and they felt awesome. I was sold till the guy showed me the Falcon Cara T7. Later,

Spinner Baits

St. Croix Triumph vs. Premeir
The Triumph is not made in the USA it is imported I believe from China. It does not have the same guides as the Premiere or the Mojo. The Premiere and Mojo both have Batson Forecast Guides, not sure which guides the Triumph has, it just lists them as being hard aluminum oxide with black frames. All 3 rods have St Croix's 5 year warranty. The Triumph is a very good place to start. Would there be that big a difference between the Triumph and Premiere? I would say there would be a little difference. Would the Mojo be better then both? Probably a little better then the Triumph and about the same as the Premiere. The Mojo is offered in a Wacky Style technique specific rod, so that could make a pretty big difference. But in that $70 to $100 price range there is a huge choice of rods and the list seems to keep getting longer. You have the new Falcon Bucoo rods(5 Year warranty), the Shimano Compre(limited lifetime warranty), Shimano Clarus(limited lifetime warranty) and the list goes on and on. Skeet Reese has his new line of rods coming out in this price range, Lamiglas has also entered into this price range as well. The best thing to do is to find a store that carries a majority of these rods and just go in and pick them up and hold them and find what feels the best to you. Take your reel with you so that you can feel how the rod will truly feel. Later,
