  1. I was a doubter in tungsten till yesterday. Went out and was fishing a Power Hawg with a 3/16oz tungsten weight and on the first cast I could feel the bait hit the bottom every time and when it didn't hit the bottom I knew I had a fish. I am believer in them know, that is for sure. Later,
  2. There is a lot of good jigs and for the most part jigs aren't very expensive. The jig will work much better with a trailer but I have never tried one with out one. I would try around a 5/16oz to 3/8oz finesse jig in black and blue or pbj with a matching trailer. For another option I would look at the Berkley Power Hawgs in Green Pumpkin or some other type of creature bait or maybe even some tubes. Later,
  3. Yep just wait, every reel from here on out will only get more and more expensive. Later,
  4. I really like the BPS XPS fluorocarbon. It has been an outstanding line for me so far. Later,
  5. Penn State choking, what about the darn Sooners? Play great all year and get smacked around in the BCS championship repeatedly! Later,
  6. There is still quite a ways to go. I can only hope that the Sox's offense shows up tonight and for the rest of the season. Later,
  7. I have played it a few times and its not too bad. Later,
  8. BuCoo BCC-6-17 H 8 12-25 lb 3/8 to 1oz. 7' $109.99 Yes the higher the price the better the guides. The BuCoo does at least have Fuji reel seats and guides. Later,
  9. I would send the reel back. Send it back delivery confirmation and insured. The only reason I say this is because you received your refund and although he did not hold up too his end at all this will at least show him that you are a man of your word and that you don't hide behind a keyboard and monitor like some people do and maybe just maybe next time he will be a more stand up person. Just my opinion, Later,
  10. I use my spinning setup for all of my soft plastics fishing. Tubes, lizards, creature style baits, wacky rigging, shakey head etc... Everything else is on BCs. Later,
  11. That sure does look like a *** jig. I have 2 favorite jigs at the moment. Eakins 3/8oz flippin finesse jig and Gman 5/16oz finesse jig. I like both jigs in black and blue with either Berkley Black and Blue Chigger Craws or Yum Money Craw in Black and Blue as well. Later,
  12. There is several of these thread through out the board, just do a search and you will be overwhelmed with the information that is out there. But while we are here, this is my favorite braids in order: Daiwa Samurai Braid, outstanding line but a little costly Fireline Braid, a very good line but it turns your thumb green Power Pro Braid, great product and not to expensive Suffix Braid. great product and not to expensive Yes any time you are throwing into heavy cover like lily pads etc... you need to use braid. Some don't think so but I do. Later,
  13. $100 dollar range, there is a couple out there. St. Croix Rods Mojos *MBC66MHF Jig-N-Worm 6'6" MH Fast 1 12 - 20 3[ch8260] 8 - 1 4.1 2 $ 90 or *MBC70HF Slop-N-Frog 7' H Fast 1 14 - 25 3[ch8260] 8 - 11[ch8260]2 5.3 3 $ 100 Falcon Rods Original Casting FC-6-166 Worm N Classic MH 7 12-25 lb. 1/4 to 3/4 oz. 6' 6" 9" $89.99 or FC-7-166 Choke Canyon H 7 15-30 lb. 3/8 to 1oz. 6' 6" 9" $89.9 or FC-6-17 Carolina Lizard Dragger I H 8 12-25 lb. 3/8 to 1oz. 7' 10" $89.99 or BuCoo BCC-5-1610 MH 8 10-20 lb. 3/16 to 5/8 oz. 6' 10" $109.99 or BCC-6-1610 H 8 12-25 lb. 1/4 to 3/4 oz. 6' 10" $109.99 or BCC-5-17 MH 8 12-20 lb. 1/4 to 5/8 oz. 7' $109.99 or BCC-6-17 H 8 12-25 lb 3/8 to 1oz. 7' $109.99 That is just a few of them in that range price range. Their is a lot more from other rod manufactures as well like Shimano. Fenwick, Kistler, Powell etc... Your best bet is going to be and try and get your hands on as many of the rods you like as you can and see how they feel in your hands with the reel you plan on using mounted on them. Also don't be afraid to put braid on any of the rods I listed or any of the other manufactures listed. Braid is awesome for fishing jigs. Later,
  14. If you want to see someone ruin their career just watch Crabtree sit out his rookie season. I bet he won't sit out and if he doesn't sign soon and get into camp his playing time his first year will be very little and that will be his loss as well as the teams. The only thing he is doing is hurting himself and his team. I say let his actions on the field do the talking and the money will come. Later,
  15. I absolutely hate dealing with car dealerships salesmen. Glad everything worked out for you. But these guys really seem to know how to push your buttons. Later,
  16. Yeah BPS is terrible. Ordered some stuff from them for their 6 payment promo and it took 3 days to ship my items. That is crazy! Then I had to pay outrageous shipping costs and sales tax because I live in MO. Tackle Warehouse on the other hand, is AWESOME! Later,
  17. Been having the same thoughts and I took the plunge today and bought some of the Tungsten weights, Ike Weed Wackers and pegs. Will be trying them out in the am. Later,
  18. How are the KVD line of spinner baits? Looking at getting a couple of these. The local BPS has them in the Colorado/Indiana blade configuration. Later,
  19. I have had fairly good luck with the SK Coffee scented tubes but I have had much better luck with YUM Mega Tubes. I use the Owner Phantom tube hook, works awesome. So far this year tubes have been by biggest producer. Later,
  20. That is a great article. Another good one I found is a 2 part special Hank Parker had on the VS channel a while back. Later,
  21. Jig definitely. You can catch fish anywhere, anytime and under any circumstances. Later,
  22. I have these as well as some LC Pointers. Never caught a fish on a LC Pointer, but throw out a X-Rap and hold on. Later,
  23. The older boxes are very nice(ones you have posted). The newer ones are made by Plano and I don't like them near as well(the ones posted by kbkindle). The spinner bait/buzz bait combo box is very nice. It will hold 15 of each and it is a little bit smaller in size then the Plano Flip Sider box. Later,
