  1. Shimano Crucial 7' MH/F or the 6' 10" MH/F, both are right around $150 or so. I have the 6' 10" MH/XF and it is an excellent rod. Later,
  2. I keep all of my plastics in 2 BPS Double Sided Large Binders. I keep all of my plastics in their original bags then just place them into the Double Sided Binders zip lock bags. This way I can easily store more then 1 bag of plastics per zip lock bag. Lets me squeeze more into each binder this way. Later,
  3. I use the Owner Twist Lock hooks and the Twist Lock Centering Pin Springs. Tie on one Owner Twist Lock hook then thread several of the Twist Lock Centering Pin Springs into several of my favorite plastics and when I want to change just undo the Twist Lock Centering Pin from the Twist Lock hook and thread on the new Twist Lock Centering Pin Spring. Works awesome, no retying and is extremely fast to switch out plastics. Later,

I like the Yum tubes really well especially with a Owner Phantom Tube Hook. Later,
  5. I use Cavitrons and have never had any issues with them. I also like the War Eagles and Booyahs. Later,

Last night was the first time ever that a Fat Ika did not produce one fish, not one. I fished it rigged backwards and forwards with and without weight in every color I had nothing. Not a bite. I was stumped. Switched to a YUM Tube with a Owner tube hook and bam 5 fish within about 45 minutes. I am still puzzled, never ever caught a fish on a tube, but lots of luck with the Fat Ika. Even threw the same colors. Black and blue. Explain that one please and oh the water was dead calm and smooth and it was in the evening. Later,
  7. The Flappin Hogs are awesome. Only complaint I have is, well actually no complaints, they flat out catch fish. They just usually come back missing pieces, but at least there is usually a fish attached as well.lol Later,
  8. GMANN jig 3/8oz, black and blue with a black and blue Net bait Paca chunk. Later,
  9. I use the Falcon spinner bait box for all of my spinner baits and I use the BPS double binders for all of my plastics. I leave them in their original packages and then just drop them in the ziplock bags in the binders. Later,
  10. TW is awesome. Especially the free shipping and $10 for overnight shipping, that is really awesome! Later,
  11. There are no real rules or unwritten rules. It is basically use what you are comfortable with. I know a lot of guys who use fluorocarbon for everything except top water, they use mono instead. I know a lot of guys who use braid for everything and then there are guys who use copolymer for everything. I use copolymer and fluorocarbon. I have fluorocarbon on my spinning setup and one bc setup and have copolymer on my other 2 bc setups. Later,
  12. Been trying shakey head off and on. Maybe that was what I was doing, shaking the jig too much. What is the best jig head for shakey style? I am currently using the Strike King shakey head jig. Later,

Friday fishing in the rain I was throwing a swim jig with a Kinami 4" Bay Bass single tail grub. They were just nibbling, no takers. So I applied some Mega Strike through back to the same spot and they ripped the grubs tail off, pulled the body half way off the hook, before he dang near swallowed the entire jig. I couldn't believe it. They did the same thing all day. Nibble and then they attacked! It was like they went insane for a moment. Like a cat with cat nip. Later,
  14. Who needs a reason to go to BPS? I don't, its only 5 minutes from the house though, so that helps. We had a field day fishing Friday morning in the rain. I was catching them with swim jigs and my buddy was catching them with plastic worms rigged wacky style. It was crazy. 2 different techniques in the same water and the same results. Lots of fish. When you find what they want it is on and you don't care how cold or wet you are at that moment. Later,

I use Kinami 3" or 4" single tail grubs. Later,
  16. I would go with the Curado. The reel is much smoother and casts light baits much better then the Citica. Don't get me wrong the Citica is an excellent reel, but the Curado is just that much better. Later,
  17. I had been using Yo-Zuri Hybrid on all of my setups till recently. My local BPS and Cabelas seem to be no longer stocking it or are just taking their time restocking it. So in the mean time I decided to try out some P-Line CXX X-tra and so far this line is every bit as good as Yo-Zuri. Won't say its better yet but it is good. Went with 8lbs on my spinning reels and 12lbs on my BCs. By the way spooled this up without KVD L&L and made some pratice casts and it seems very very manageable. Will have KVD with me just in case! Heading out today to try it out. Later,
  18. I love Yo-Zuri, but my local stores BPS and Cabelas are either no longer carrying it or they are just taking their sweet time getting more in. So in the mean time I am trying out some P-Line CXX X-tra and so far this line in my opinion is just as good as Yo-Zuri. Only time will tell. Later,
  19. I have tried the Red Label and thought it was pretty good stuff as well. Just every time I go into my local BPS they are out of it. Later,
  20. How did you lose the baits? More info. Later,

I really like Mega Strike and JJ's. Both work extremely well. Later,
  22. Yeah we don't have any place around here that I fish that has thick nasty lilly pads or any other thick nasty stuff. Later,
  23. The Palomar knot and just remember to wet the knot down before pulling it tight to help prevent damaging the line. Later,
  24. With Yo-Zuri Hybrid becoming very scarce at our local BPS and Cabelas I set out to find another line and I decided to try Fluorocarbon as well. I went with BPS Fluorocarbon. I am using 14lbs on my jig setup(BC) and 10lbs on my plastics setup(Spinning). My other setups are still currently Yo-Zuri Hybrid, at least for now. Braid is very nice though. Pulled a log out of the lake with 50lbs Power Pro. Can't imagine any place I fish though where braid is necessary. Later,
