old Johnny Morris BC
That is not the new Johnny Morris Signature. Not sure how old that one is. With that being said I have had the Signature(rather heavy) the Elite(1oz lighter) and they both worked very well. But I went back to my old reliable Shimanos and picked up a couple new Curados and am waiting for the left handed Cticas to become available. They are much lighter and smoother too me. Where did you see JMs for $100. They are $180 and $220 on-line and $150 and $190 in the Christmas catalog? Later,

Keepin' it Reel
You honestly cannot go wrong with the following combo and it brings you in under your budget by quite a little bit. Pflueger Trion GX-7 Spinning Combo Very nice reel and a very nice rod and plenty of choices for rod length and reel size. Later,

You guys ever hear of this rod by Bass Pro?
That is too bad that they do stuff like that. Really can be upsetting to the new guy getting started and thinking he is getting an awesome deal to only find out he has the bait and switch pulled on him. They also are famous for having higher prices in the stores and on-line and cheaper prices in their catalogs. At least they will honor the catalog pricing. Later,

NO WAY-CHRONARCHS ON SALE/CLOSEOUT???

Strike King Ocho
I also found them to be very soft and not very durable as well, when compared to others. Later,

Info on Daiwa Bait Casters
Found a Viento for $99, at my local Cabelas and a Zillion for $169. Both were brand new in the bargain cave and were marked as Misc. I was told they had never left the store and had the same warranty from the manufacture and still had Cabelas 30 day return policy. Nice deal, can't wait to try them, Later,

Info on Daiwa Bait Casters
Thanks for the info guys. Sound these are some great reels that keep getting over shadowed by Shimano and Abu Garcia. So is the twitchin bar something people actually use or is it just a gimmic? Thanks,

Slow rolling a buzzbait
I do this with my small Cavitrons. Works very well in shallow water when the fish are not being very aggressive. I usually use the 1/4oz one for this and have had pretty good success. Later,

Bait monkey strikes again!! This time he bit my WIFE!!
Wish the bait monkey would bite my wife like that.lol Actually with my wife in school full time for another month and finals approaching she keeps kicking me out of the hose and sending me to BPS for the day to hang out and she actually sends me with money so technically I guess he did bite her as well.lol Later,

Info on Daiwa Bait Casters
I am considering the Zillion and the Tierra. I will be using them for top water, jerk baits, soft plastics, buzz baits, frogs etc... Basically everything. One big question I have it this, how is the braking system? I know it is magnetic and I honestly have never tried just magnetic. Everything I have is either centrifugal or centrifugal and magnetic. Thanks for all the input so far. Later,

Info on Daiwa Bait Casters
I am looking for information from people that have had or have Daiwa Bait Casters. They have some very nice looking reels and I am wondering how they stack up. I have a couple Shimanos, Pfleugers and some BPS Johnny Morris reels already. I am not looking for what is better, but I am looking for what great about these reels, whats ok and whats really bad. I also presume that they have some type of magnetic braking and am looking for input on that as well. Thanks,

cold water ?
As I am discovering this time of year smaller seems to better and so does slower. When you think you are going slow then slow it down a little bit more. Later,

Using snaps / snap swivels
Believe me I check my line very often, even when not changing lures. I am very aware of how important your line and your knot is. Later,
-
Using snaps / snap swivels
Yes, as long as you don 't snap it to the split ring on the bait, snapping to the split ring creates a double joint, your bait wobbles to one side when it 's supposed to wobble to the other and when it 's supposed to wobble to it doesn 't wobble. Snap/swivel combinations are a must when you fish with in-line spinners, specially when you fish with spinning gear, the line twist is terrible. Thanks for the info. Later,

Using snaps / snap swivels
So, snaps with no swivels are ok for crank baits and top water baits? That will sure making changing lures out quicker and easier. Later,

This is a very nice bluegill bait...

Why do you fish the jig you fish?
I have been debating on trying some jigs and it sounds like there are some very good custom jigs at very decent prices. I am going to check some of these out instead of just picking them up from the local BPS. Later,
