  5. Well I am glad to see that I'm not the only one to have fought with them. They a very common around here and are considered by most as pests. My buddy and I tried again this morning after church and had no luck at all,But even better there were no geese in sight so we were able to fish in "private" ;D

With all of the different types and brands of jigs on the market, football head ,stand ups, swimming, weedless, finesse etc...etc. How does a guy find a good "all purpose " jig. My jig selection has a very wide range of styles. My jig knowledge is at best "limited" My question is can you suggest a style of jig that would best be described as "all purpose :-/ Or am I to be left with having to buy structure specific styles, and have to carry along 1 for each scenario I encounter > This question has riddled me for awhile...
  12. I do split the tail but, I do it mostly for more action. I am not for sure if it actually does any better or worse. My opinion is that whatever you do to it, can only make it better. I also put a red or clear glass bead below the bullet sinker,(purely habit).
  13. Last night after work a friend and I went to a retention pond where the community had just lifted the "no fishing"ban... Being late in the day both of us were armed with frogs and floating worms hoping for a great BITE. Unbeknown to us was the fact that among the cattails that so thickly lined the pond, was a family of GEESE. After many parallel casts we moved, unfortunately I was the one who tried to walk into their "home"! Not only did they not just let me walk away, they insisted on letting me know just how much they thought of me and my lower extremities. Not only are geese mean they are extremely fast As for my buddy while laughing the rest of the night, he caught (2) 1.5# lmb,,,,and me, well after the geese stopped telling me off I landed (1) 1#..... WE WILL GO AGAIN
  14. I had that sent to me earlier last week, Even funnier for the second go around ;D
  15. Agreed When I bought my first boat, my wife and I spent alot of time "practicing" Launching, loading, and backing down ramps. I think it not only makes your trip less stressfull for you, but also to the other boaters that may be there.

  17. Welcome Frankie
  18. Sure is nice It almost looks like a postcard
  19. No response only laughter here
  20. Love the jerkbait Good job
  21. I also rig them texas with a glass bead, or on a stand up jig head and have good success ....when they just don't want a longer worm. In addition I frequently split the tail where the depressed line is
  22. I thought the same thing at first, didn't catch much at all on chatterbaits. But then I tryed fishing them at dusk/night, black/blue with a black/blue hulagrub trailer. It Worked great. Give the chatterbait another try, buy the original chatterbait in black/blue and use black/blue hulagrubs as a trailer, fish them primarily at dusk/night or in low light conditions. Then see if you still think it doesn't catch. Fish it exactly like you would a spinnerbait. I haven't given up yet ;D I love a good challenge and I will eventually catch fish on it I am not familiar with a HULA GRUB what is it? where do you get it,is it like a chompers plastic?
  23. Nice setup ,and Awesome fish, Man that had to be fun!!!!!
  24. Congrats, I also just started this summer for small mouth and can't wait for a fish like that to bite ;D ;D ;D
