  1. i want one. for real. for my daughter. (dont think i wont toss it a few times....) got a link??
  2. hahhahha.... thats right. keep payin more for a comparable product. we wont stop you.
  3. i have the incyte spinning reel and the kvd bc. and i just recently bought the accurist pts saltwater. i love them all and have had no trouble at all with any of them esp. the incyte which is the greatest spinning reel ive ever owned. and i fish both fresh and heavy salt. (not with the kvd of course.. but with the other two.)
  4. last week i bought the accurist pts (saltwater) for the ridiculously low price of 89 dollars. the bps price on this reel is 149! look around. i got the scoop that apparently quantum got all their accurists back from box stores (wal mart) now that they discontinued them and are selling them to private stores dirt cheap. check ebay and your local tacle store. obviously some outfitters are still selling what they have for cheap. i frkn LOVE my new accurist and if i can find more i will get them. its performed flawless in both salt and fresh water in the two weeks ive had it. it feels strong and smooth and casts like a wet dream. if you can get the regular accurist pt for cheap i would jump all over it.
  5. guys, no need to worry about this any longer. go to your nearest supply store, home depot or whatever and get mountable zipties. they look like this.... http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1292692&cid= you can get like 20 for 2 bucks. put them on your rod wherever you feel comfortable and zip them down. cut off the excess. there you go. no warranty void. no scratching your rod. no hurting of the wallet. your welcome.
  6. i was thowing a weightless fluke on my diawa 100h on a mh 6.6' shimano rod all day sunday and was casting just fine. also.... threw a 3/16 weighted paddletail (always)for the rest of the day on my quantum kvd and its as natural as breathing. you can do it!!!!!
  7. i havent had a problem with my chatterbaits, but i pefer the strike king pure poison.
  8. just to support you bch, i have power pro (10lb) on my inshore spinning reel, and i change it twice a year. every three months or so ill string it out across my yard and reverse it.. then respool around july 4th. fishing is 12 months a year here power pro is the best braid going, bar none.
  9. no need to spend that much. u can get this reel for around 50 bucks or less and its perfect in every way. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewquantumincyte.html i have two and im buying one more. inshore/flats and freshwater, first one is two years old or so and feels like the day i bought it. as usual TT gave it a "fair" rating due to very weird "cons". buy the "40" size. magic.
  10. go to your local electric supply house and ask them for penatrox. u have to use it by code for aluminum wire to lug and aluminum wire to copper (when would you ever do that?) connections when wiring houses. (commercial buildings dont use aluminum...). this will protect your terminals from corrosion. also make sure your connections are tight and that there is no bare copper. tape it up. im an electrician, and i approve this message ;D
  11. pffft.. i can sit and stand and fish and run circles around anyone in a 16 ft. old town widebottom. marty, your turning the canoe around and paddling it backwards when your solo right? fishnewb, go rent a canoe at your nearest river and fish out of it. two things you must know. you will never have enough room.... and you will hate hate hate whoever you beleive is responsible for the wind....but you can fish deathly quiet and in places no bass boat is going to go.
  12. the biggest he can afford. its never overkill to run the tm all day on 2. cause there will come that day when running on 10 wont be enough....... :-/
  13. this doesnt answer your question on the rod.... but might i suggest the quantum incyte for your reel. i have one and love it. best 65 bucks ive spent in years. u ca get them much cheaper now. theyre the top reel that ISNT a pt series. check it here. u can find it cheaper than that.... http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0042470121675a&type=product&cm_mmc=CRR-_-RLP-_-121675-_-image_link&cmCat=CRR&cmCat=netcon&cm_ven=netcon&cm_cat=Yahoo&cm_pla=quantum%20incyte%20reviews&cm_ite=netcon i recomend this reel so much on here it feels like i should own stock in it or something... lol
  14. tell you what.... go get good fat bodied crank in a color you like, with a square bill. then when you get home, take some side cutting pliers and cut off the lead hook of the front treble. if you push it back and the other two hooks hug the bottom of the bait, youre money. tada! as snagless as you can get a crank to be. feeling froggy? cut off the lead back one too. i do it all the time. using a glass rrod and not really setting the hook, more like sweeping it... thatll help too.
  15. ive been out wading around and caught so many bass that the skirt of my spinnerbait just fell apart. i kept throwing it, they kept biting it. i like how ur idea looks, i think i might go get a cheap walmart bzbt and start sticking things on it........
  16. buy that red eye shad in a nice natural color like "tennesee shad" or "sexy shad" and just cast it out and reel it back. youll catch something eventually.
  17. for what i think was a great deal at $29. anyone else have these? i know everyone on here has clarus and compre rods, and i was going to get one...but this just felt too good and was too cheap. its 6'6 mh fast action. gonna use it for c-rigging and t-rigging till i come up with the cash to maybr pick up a 7' all star asr. unless this rod changes my mind..................... ;D
  18. when im in the back of the boat... which is always... take four rods. 6'6 medium heavy/ quantum kvd 7.0--for all things moving. 6'6 medium glass/abu garcia black maxx round 5.4-- for cranks and sometimes shallow/light texas rig 7' medium heavy/ diawa 100h lefthanded 6.2-- for all things crawling. 7' medium/light/ quantum incyte spinning-- for dropshotting and senko type things. 15lb yozuri hybrid on everything except the spinninig reel, which has trilene xl 8lb. on it right now..... but its about to get yo zuri 10lb ultra soft.
  19. the asr is callinng my name everytime i touch it. i need a c-rig pole. i love the feel and the reel seat. dont know though if i should get a shimano compre for half the price though...............
  20. wow. amazon has them for 45 bucks!!! http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00144COFA?smid=A2HUFQYBB8LM3&tag=yahoo-sg-20&linkCode=asn
  21. no its not even close to a $100 reel. you can get a citica for $119. if youre lookin to buy a reel from walmart, theres this bright orange reel made by pinnnacle that is like 60 bucks that is awesome. it has 9 bearings or somthing.. i cant remember the name. my buddy bought one to have as a spare to fish in tourneys and he now uses it as his main c-rig reel. granted when you dedicate a reel to only c-rigging it doesnt have to be the highest performing reel in the world, but it casts a mile and handles the 3/4-1oz weight well. i want one kinda....lol. ;D p.s. found it, its the solene. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00144COFA?smid=A2HUFQYBB8LM3&tag=yahoo-sg-20&linkCode=asn
  22. when you say im10 do you mean the asr series? cuz ive had my eye on one of those and wonder how they are.............. :-?
  23. im not sure why this a discussion. the flippin switch as used on the quantums and extremes is meant for "righthanded" reelers that flip and pitch. when you pitch into that spot, people that switch hands to reel have to do so to re-engage their reel. i suppose after years of missing fish on the fall.... someone came up with a way to re-engage the reel BEFORE you switch hands. that way you can set the hook. when youre flipping alot of the time you finish your flip with your rod in an 11oclock position and its the same situation... fish hits it as soon as it breaks the surface and youre totally out of position to re-engage your reel. thats when you can use a flippin switch. of course..... all of this can be eliminated if you would all learn to reel with your left hand when the situation calls for it...... ;) if the thought of the switch appeals to you then get it. if you dont think you need it you probably dont. it doesnt effect the performance of the reel though so its fine. my kvd has it and the only time i use it is when i need more line to tie on or cut off and i dont want my spool spinning. ;D i flip and pitch and work all my bottom baits with left handed reels.
