  1. Ya they look like they'd be good for soft baits, jig, hook and weights to too, hows bout wire baits? nah theyre not too good on wire baits, i use a spinnerbait binder for those. binders work good for plastiics too. also... like the other guys said, theres other brands of boxes that maybe better or not, but plano was the first/most popular and so theyre all referred to as plano's. check out the bps proqualifier tackle system or any of these in the 370 or 3700 size and itll pretty much solve all your problems. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SportingGoods_Freshwater%2BFishing--Fishing%2BEquipment--Soft%2BTackle%2BBags_10151_-1_10001_advisor_CA.CategoryExpand_N_100011010_100000000_100011000
  2. no problem man. theyre great for everything... can hold all your stuff if you put a few into a tacklebag, or if you need to go light or are fishing super particular, then one box can take everything u need that day.
  3. x2 i love them for everything.

  5. rooster said.. One that is well below that line is an Ugly Stik Lite Pro [hangs head in shame now]. feel free to unload that "pitiful worthless begginers" rod on me. ill make sure it never defiles you again... ;D
  6. not to hijack the thread from the ocho... but the zero floating has done good by me for the ol' c-rig....
  7. if it was made out of the 3x elaztec that the zero is, one pack would last you a month..... btw i love the play on words stike king is going with here...... its an "ocho" senko. lol like the football player...............
  8. spiderwire is ok. power pro is the bimbamdiggity. ;D
  9. just saw the fuego on clearence at westmarine.com
  10. may not be what your into but i found last years quantum pt saltwater accurist for 100bucks. its great. look around.
  11. hey me too!!! havent decided on the powell or a crucial yet. im getting a c-rig/jig rod tho. already have the pt-te in the house though... mocking... :
  12. funny this thread was started, i was just looking at them. lol. i also need a rod to pair up with a tour edition. how do you guys feel these stack up to a shimano crucial??
  13. i have a brand new quantum tour edition reel and now i need a rod. im going to use it for jigging/carolina rig and the like. my problem is this. i have handled and very much liked a 7'2" asr all star rod at sports authority-- http://www.allstarrods.com/as_asrseries.html ---and it is retaling for $99.99. however, im growing fond of shimano rods esp. their warranty and wonder if i should maybe wait and see if i can get a deal on a crucial --- http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/rods/freshwater/Crucial_Casting.html --- instead. the compre doesnt seem to offer the splt grip and exposed blank that im looking for... otherwise this would be easy. lol. though im sure imma get a million shimano replies... id still like to hear the advice.
  14. whats an opening day? lol ;D

the angle on the jig provides different resistance on the fall to the trailer you guys are using. not sure what you had on but most jig trailer/creature baits have so many things going on that the different angle probably makes a big difference.
  16. i plan on getting one in jan. with tax return. there is a severe lack of bank fishing avaiable in my area.... even in saltwater. itll be a 16ft modified v with a 25 on it. i cant wait.
  17. yup... ive done the same thing. broke off on a stump and fished the same area a few days later and caught a fish with my cajun line (at the time) stckin out. i slowly pulled and got my half digested strike king zero (god it smelled) and my hook still rigged weedless. apparently i had got my sinker hung and broke off. i thought the whole situation was kinda funny. i caught him on the same rig. lol.
  18. i joined bass about two months ago.. and while i got my swag and everything- i still have yet recieved an issue of the magazine. i have now bought two issues off the newsstand since. this is mildly irritating me. i love the magazine (esp. day on the lake) and i support all the conservation and things they do. i feel its a good thing to be part of for 20bucks. also i ntend to start co-angling soon i hope and want to be able to fish the bass tournements.
  19. i have a (mid level?) diawa 100h procaster and i love it. solid and easy to manage. the mag brake is the easiest to dial in of the 5 bc's that i own.
  20. that line you bought at wal mart in a pinch sat on a shelf in a stocking warehouse for at LEAST a year....probably longer.
  21. i feel your pain. had my girl get me a quantum tour edition 7.0 when cabellas liquidated them. i cant have it till our anniversary dec. 11th. its just sitting there in the box mocking me. she even wrapped it in clear wrapping paper with a bow and everything. : :'(
  22. yes.. when you have the negative on with the positive itll throw sparks. like when you touch your battery jumper cables together on accident. the switch just puts power through tthe positive side to the livewell. your negative completes the cycle back to the battery, no need to be on a switch. lucky this hasnt caught fire.
  23. im not sure why its a big deal that bill fishes private lakes. his show is about teaching techniques and introducing new lures. much like the above post, when you go to a seminar, you want to see thhe fish iin the tank be caught. its to illustate a point. i dont care if he catches 10 10lbers in a row, its the point that big fish like the lure/ presentation in the conditions that hes in. no matter if its private or not, you can bet that he does a show based on the conditions that week and adjusts lures and stuff accordingly. other wise hed catch nothinng. all the other t.v. shows do it too. just not as obvious. btw ive seen bill do shows on big o and in tenn river and other public waters and while there wasnt the same ratio of lunkers, he still was catching them better than you and me.
  24. i like the sk zulu too the best truthfully. but they are so hard to find now. even when u order them now theyre not the same as the old ones. im not sure why the 3x baits didnt catch on but it seems as though major stores are phasing them out. the ztoo is awsome where i fish because of so many bream that run off with the fluke, a regular ne is ripped to shreds. and NOTHING is better in saltwater. pesky baitsnatchers and toothy trout make short work of regular plastic. not the 3x. i really like the lizards and really really like the zero. all these baits will float a 4/0 hook. its my secret carolina rig bait.
