  1. SOLVES THAT! sign me up. lol. i mentioned this to someone else and he said they used to tie bass flies to the back of surface poppers all the time and many times told the boss man how they were catching them. doesnt mean they didnt change it tho. good to know.
  2. also... its not "rainbow colored" it is irradecent. it changes colors at different angles. like when you look at that oil slick your evinrude just left in the water. ;D ;D
  3. or a drop shot rig with the "weight" being a 1/2 jig?
  4. Do you think that people could be saying the same thing about your favorite reel ? yeah... they probably are.
  5. fwiw if you like the chatterbait but think its a p.o.s. then get the strike king pure poison. its better built and i think the actions better anyway.
  6. my uglystick ultra lite is plenty sensitive. esp. the "lite" series, they are graphite/glass composites. as sensitve as the st.croix? prollly not. but its indetructable and can bring in a much much bigger fish with out fear of snapping.
  7. quantum incyte. i dont like the sahara.... i dont get why others do.... :-/
  8. looks good. i might get one. let us know what you think. i think the answers to your questions are all yes.
  9. a 3/0 or 4/0 ewg hook should be fine. you want to thow them over submerged grass or around anything really. theyre pretty weedless and anywhere a dying shad would induce a bite, thats where you throw it. i even carolina rig them. theyre just like a jerk bait. change up the retrieve till you get bit. i love them... esp. this time of year and spring.
  10. senkos,sweetbeavers,paddletails.
  11. well whats funny is just 3 weeks ago i got an accurist pt saltwater ($139) for 90bucks! and i love it and thought i got the best deal ever. haahahahahahah.... no. this beats the brakes off that. 129 dollars off?? wow. i cant wait... ive never messed with one they were so far out of my price range. it being left handed i think i just got a new heavy bottom rig. ;D 1 1/2oz carolina rigs and 1oz jigs here i come!
  12. ive seen crawdads over 8" long and with blue highlights in greenbriar river in w.va. gotta be a big smallie to eat that!
  13. i got two husky tool bags from home depot. http://huskytools.com/Product.aspx?pid=2a16ffad-a394-46fb-b83e-ac86949600c0&cid=790926 the big one holds three 370 boxes and the small one holds 3 360s. they both also will hold a small 6x4 box inside and the big one will hold one in the outside pocket as well. even with all the boxes they hold about 8 bags of plastics in pockets on the inside. not to mention all the pockets on the outside. they are freaking bulletproof. they are made to carry way worse things than i have in them. ive had them about 2 years now and they still look and perform brand new. they have big strong zippers, double stitched renforced bottoms, stainless hardware, d-rings that i clip my worm binders to, a big tough carry strap and i got them both together in a deal for 25bucks. i have an ockechobee fats red bag for my saltwater stuff, but they seem poorly made to me and ive been through one already. think i mayy upgrade to a bps qualifier when that one dies.
  14. i have heard its better than the sx. it felt smooth and i was considering getting one. i hear nothing but good about them.
  15. i just bought one!! well.... my girl did for me. for our anniversary... in dec. she said i cant use it till then!! oh the humanity!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-/
  16. im not sure what all the hating is about on the quantums, but i own three of them and i just bought that tour edition from cabellas tonight. they all perform flawlessly and smoothly. i have a diawa too though. and its great. between the two reels you listed id say neither. you can get a citica for a hundred bucks. or a revo s. i have the quantum kvd and its great for the money and you can probably find an accurist pt for 100bucks if you look.... or that tour edition quantum if your lefty....or can reel left like me!!! ;D http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp;jsessionid=TU5HZD5Z43VN3LAQBBJCCONMCAEFGIWE?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21404-cat21406-cat601360&id=0037481120573a&navCount=0&podId=0037481&parentId=cat601360&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=OG&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat601360&hasJS=true&_requestid=116072
  17. oh.. no. i meant more as far as paraites and germs etc. my beardie never bit anyone that i can think of though he wasnt the best with being handled. he was probably 8 or 9 when he passed and so he lived a good long life. he took pinkies with no problems at all. enjoyed them bout once every other month. obviously not his main diet. they eat bigger things than that in the wild! yours is absolutely beautiful!!! mine (stitch) was much more subdued. love your habitat too!!
  18. yeah... my beardie was full grown and taking mice. he ate alot of crickets even as a big guy. probably 75 a week? i got them pretty cheap though at 3 cents each. still got expensive though..lol. he was gettin up there with the age and he finally died last turkey day. if i hadnt had a kid in july, id have gotten another one. dont want a reptile around the newborn ya know. dont really have room for the tank and stuff right now but will get one next year when we get a new place. miss him. id go ahead and get the uglystick ul. youre probably gonna care more about endurance than super sensitivity and u should have your finger on your line anyway for that!! the uglystick and a good ul reel would be the way to go. the pflueger the abugarcia or a quantum incyte. of if you have the money a rreally good penn black and gold.
  19. are you raising your crickets? my beardie ate so manny theres no way i coulda afforded to use them for bait too!! i have an uglystick ultralite rod 5'. it has a old shakespear reel on it. that thing will catch anything. i use iit frresh and salt water. mostly beetlespins in fresh. mostly catchin bait with it in salt water.... though... i did get this and many other puppy redfish in on it. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=18667075&albumID=1551280&imageID=16787171
  20. nah man. try that one out first. both diawa and the place you got it from honored their warranty. the one you got might have been damaged in shipping or storage or even at the original factory. or the car ride out to the lake either way try the new one. you have nothing to lose but another fish and as long as its not for money... its jut a fish. diawa doesnt make junk and they certainly dont make $130 junk.
  21. yeah thats it gamefisher. i saw them on a buddies boat years back and thought it was great cause he inshore fished and there was no rell metal involved. well the stainless mounting of course. also is cheap cheap. most expensive thing is the stainless mounting.
  22. looks good man!!! what was your total cost? sorry if i missed it.
  23. in fla. you have to have it registered if its under any mechanical power. and in order to do that you have to have a title. even a canoe with a temp. trolling motor on it needs registration.
  24. well, ive been liking the sweet beaver on my t-rig. but more than anything id say that a lizard and a senko are my most productive. oh... and though i rarely fish it on the bottom, any paddle tail with a 3/16 oz. t-rig beats up active fish. esp in dirty water.
