  1. They tried to pull that one with me too. Here is how you solve that problem... *** has a "over $50 = Free shipping" policy. If you go to customer service and quote this, they will match the internet price and not try to tack on the shipping charge. We all know how easy it is to amass $50 in baits at BPS, unfortunately... :-[ ;D it is because of that (and the crazy discounts they give to fellow college anglers) is why i use tackle warehouse 99% of the time!! they give discounts to people in college?!?!
  2. Their senko knock-offs are actually really good. The stik-o i think they're called. I've always caught just as many fish on them as i have real senkos. Not as cheap as ***'s but they're still cheaper than senkos. I also like their spinnerbaits

I have the older yellow one, not the newer grey one. They look exactly the same I'm not sure of the differences but I've had no trouble at all with the straps.

CABELAS, with built in cooler and rod tube on sale right now for 25 bucks w/o boxers, EXCELLENT DEAL http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/standard-pod.jsp?id=0042540&navCount=2&parentId=cat20327&masterpathid=&navAction=push&cmCat=MainCatcat20166-cat20327_TGP&parentType=index&indexId=cat20327&rid= This is perfect, especially for the price! I have the xps stalker from bps which is pretty much like this. It's the older yellow one they put on sale right before they came out with the new grey one and I got it for around 25-30 as well. I fish from shore as well and being able to carry it like a backpack is very nice. Good find muddy!
  5. Nope don't have a boat to fish out of =/

I fish pretty clear water and it's rarely fished by others. Should I get the wood one? Or the injected rattling one? Or does it even matter that much?
  7. As i have never seen the "nicks", i cant comment on the size of them...... although.... this statement alone, sets you FAAAAAARRRRRRR apart from any other in the industry, honestly..... its quite humbling to see a guy who cares that much. Which is the main reason I'm trying to stick towards his swimbaits as much as possible! Great guy.
  8. Well it's 4 white spots on it now that are pretty noticeable. One is actually a pretty good chunk! haha I just have only used it one morning without contact of anything hard i'd hate to see what it'll look like in a week or 2. I've emailed matt and he said he's going to take care of it for me!
  9. haha I think i would have to as well. Thanks again for the advice!
  10. Yeah thanks a lot. I figured it might just be a bad one that's why i posted. I haven't even caught a fish on it and it has quite a few. And I haven't thrown it anywhere near something hard since i just got it and was already paranoid about something happening to it. haha
  11. I just got this yesterday and was able to fish it all morning but I noticed the paint/finish is sort of chipping in some places. I thought it was the hooks at first but the hooks reached a little short of the chip. Is there anything i can do to avoid this from happening or is it even that big of a deal?
  12. Sounds great. I just started using my lipless cranks again and am forgetting why i ever stopped using them. I was out this morning and it was windy as well but they can easily be cast into wind. Caught me one on the lipless this morning after it got too windy to throw my others. I hate fishing windy days they send the bass deeper and they scatter. Getting as many on as you did in that time was good! I only landed 3 this morning out of like 4 hours.
  13. Not everyday you get to see a deer taking a swim! ;D hahah
  14. 7'6 mh? or 7'11 mh? I don't think the 7'11 would work if i wanted to eventually get the hard bass but that's the highest i'd go.
  15. After doing more research i decided the heartland wasn't the best choice. Now I'm just going to get an okuma. I'm wanting to throw matlures hard gill, maybe hard bass eventually, tru tungsten 7" gill, mattlures baby bass, ultimate bluegill. Really the heaviest thing i'd want to throw is the hard bass at like 4 something i think? I think the best route is the 7'11" so i can throw the mattlures soft baits as well as the heavier hard baits. Should i get the telescopic one? Does telescopic mean it can get smaller or bigger? http://www.***.com/descpageRDCOKUMA-OGSBBR.html Thanks guys.
  16. Alright thanks a lot for the response.
  17. no one knows anything about this rod?! which size i should get?!
  18. haha I'm curious as to what exactly they said to your ultimatum.
  19. I did a search and saw there was another post but I still would like to know for what I'll be fishing, which size should i get? The 7'6 or the 7'9? I want to throw the mattlures hardgill, possibly sometime the mattlures hardbass, and the tru tungsten 7" gill. Probably some lighter lures like hte mattlures ultimate bluegill and what not. Some help would be great I'd like to purchase the rod and mattlures hardgill tomorrow so it'll have use by the weekend. Thanks heres the link http://www.***.com/descpageRDCDAIWA-DAHSCR.html
  20. What do you guys think of this rod? I know it's cheap but daiwa is a pretty solid name and for the price i don't see how you could go wrong unless it just somehow snaps. Anyone use this rod? Likes or dislikes? I'd really like to get into big swimbaits but after picking up my old hobby of paintball it's hard to afford both. This is a good cheap alternative but i do not want to throw money away. I will mostly be wanting to throw 7" slammers, the big tru tungsten, mattlures hard gill, those type of things. Which rod would you pick between the 7'6 and the 7'9 for those lures? Thanks guys!
  21. This is true. That'd be like adding salt to an open wound.
  22. Well if you saw the bank i fish from you'd see that you really can't loose a lure unless you toss it near the drain thing which the hooks can get caught on. But yeah theres a little lake that i would rent a jon boat with my friend and fish from and it was good stuff, but the simplest and most convenient way is to fish from this bank. No matter what line i had i wouldn't have been able to get that sucker out i was using my flemsy berkley rod as i wasn't expecting to catch anything over a pound and a half at most.
  23. Yeah he was acting like he didn't need the show b/c "hes gone through this so many times b4"....what a joke he needs all the training he can get, especially from the people on this show
  24. So yesterday morning I got up early to do some fishing. I get there and start off with a cavitron, but it obviously wasn't a topwater type of morning so I went on to the old reliable 4" stik-o with a 1/8 finesse bps shakey head with a little jjs on the tip (this is the most simple easiest way to catch a fish, it might be small but it always works). Anyways a couple casts in I get a hit but it was as i was lifting up the bait so I didn't have a chance to get a good hookset so it got off after a couple seconds of fighting it but it felt pretty solid. So i cast back out in the same spot and i get it again but this time i got a good hookset in and was fighting it for a bit until it swam straight for the massive weeds. It dug itself in there deep and i tried pulling him out but my berkley cherrywood and 8lb line couldnt handle it so the line broke. I know this was a solid fish because i couldn't even pull it close enough to the surface to get a look while i was fighting her and its pretty clear water so i didn't have to pull her too close. Anyways then I'm casting out my sweet little spro aruku and reeing it up until its almost in and right when my lure gets in sight i see this mouth of at least a 3lb bass snap at it and i felt it on the rod but it was too close to shore by then and he must have realized. So fish lost numero dos. Then I tossed a wacky rigged stik o out there and put my rod down so i could organize my stuff back up and my rod got a hit and moved across the ground i pick up the rod set the hook, feel him jerk, then he's gone. THEN a little bit later i was using the wacky rigged stik o again, and got a hit while i had the rod in my hands and went to set the hook, and the drag was so loose it didn't set so needless to say he got away. Overall yesterday morning, i only caught 2 fish, and lost 4 within 3 hours. Not a good morning. >
  25. Size dont matter i seen a 180 lb guy knock out a 450lb guy in 30 seconds with one hit It does to someone who already has no ground game
