  1. Green pumpkin TRD glued to the back of a 1/4 oz bitsy bug jig.
  2. I’ve gotten away from Texas rigging soft plastics in general to exclusively using them as a jig trailer in some form or another.
  3. I’ve seen some good reviews for the Bps speed shads. They have them on sale (20% off) in the current sale paper.
  4. I have a 7 ft medium power fast action legend elite spinning rod and it’s my favorite all purpose rod. I mainly use this rod for bottom contact baits but it works just fine for wacky rigging,Ned rigging, drop shotting as well It’s very sensitive and perfectly balanced with my Stradic ci4. I love this combo so much I’m buying the medium heavy version this spring.
  5. I believe they went out of business in 2013. I have a few of there spinning reels and although there is nothing outstanding about them ( tons of bearings etc) they have been trouble free for me since buying them a decade or more ago. You can still find new ones on E bay.
  6. I’ve noticed my dog has been drinking more water and seems to have lost a little bit of weight the last 2 weeks or so. Her energy level and appetite is the same even though she is eleven now. I checked the list but I didn’t see her brand on there ( Canadae) I just switched her to a brand with less salt a couple of days ago and it didn’t seem to make any difference. I guess I’ll have to take her in soon if things don’t improve .
  7. I’ve tried rigging up a smaller type Carolina Rig with a 1/4 oz tungsten worm weight (bps brand) a plastic bead, swivel, and about a 12inch leader rigged on 10 lb braided line. I’ve been experiencing frayed line and break offs since buying the bps brand weights. I’m wondering if I should buy a better brand or go back to lead or drop the braid ?
  8. I went in today hoping to walk out with a new 7 ft medium power/ fast action Avid but they only had medium heavy rods in stock. I picked up and played around with one of the Johnny Morris Patriot rods they had on the shelf and it felt pretty light and balanced. I wonder how they compare ?
  9. One of my favorite ways to fish is to glue a TRD on the back of a bitsy bug jig and crawl it back across the bottom using my reel. I keep my rod fixed in the 10 o’clock position and slowly turn the reel to crawl the jig. I use my higher end legend elite rod for this and braided line on my spinning reel because I love feeling every twig and rock as the jig bumps into things. I learned this retrieve from reading about slider fishing.
  10. I bought a box of moss green power pro braided line for $12.86 at Walmart yesterday (everyday price) still much cheaper than Bps where the same size box sells for $19.99
  11. My favorite method is to crawl it on the bottom with my reel like a Charlie brewer slider.
  12. You’re in awesome shape Andy !
  13. I use the bitsy bug jigs and the bitsy flip jigs.
  14. I use the spinshot hook in the number 4 size with a 1/4 oz drop shot weight and I have a very good hook up ratio .

    I like it !
  16. I rig the TRD on a 1/16 or a 1/8 bitsy bug jig and toss in into the weeds.I apply a couple of drops of super glue to the barb of the jig head to hold it in place. I've caugh a ton of bass this summer with this set up.
  17. The best for me this summer has been the Z - man TRD in green pumpkin.
  18. I broke the tip off of my new legend elite spinning rod (my fault) I lost close to three inches off the tip when I broke it.I tried gluing a new tip on it to see if I would be happy with it but I miss the flexible tip. The rod I broke was a 7 foot, medium power, fast tip.I have been thinking about sending back for the 7 foot 6 model medium power, fast tip. I have plenty of 7 foot rods already so I was thinking the longer rod would come in handy for longer casts for shore fishing and for the gin clear strip pits I fish.I would be using this rod for small jigs ( 1/8-1/4 bitsy bug jigs) Texas rigged soft plastics (1/8-1/4) 4" and 5" senkos and some weightless soft plastics. I've never had a rod this long so I'm trying to decide the pros and cons. I would hope a rod like this would have some stiffness and backbone and not be over flexible.I just wanted to get some opinions from those who use a longer rod.
  19. http://t.basspro.com/Luck-E-Strike-Perfect-Finesse-Worm-Rig/product/90003/I wonder how these would work ?
  20. Ned rig ! Try different retrieves like crawling it,hopping it,swimming it.
  21. I've had minimal success with The TRD until I tried one as a trailer on a 1/16 oz bitsy bug jig. This has been my go to combo all year.
  22. I have been gluing a TRD to the back of a 1/16 oz bitsy bug jig to male the head more streamlined for weeds.I use this combo at a highly pressured forest preserve lake close to my house. I've caught bass up to six pounds on this combo while routinely out fishing droves of senko fishermen.
  23. I fish mainly gin clear strip pits with visibility close to 20 feet on flat calm days.My favorite technique by far is the drop shot.I just started using the Z- man TRD 's with great success .(green pumpkin,Easy money is the other color I believe )
  24. This morning I used a TRD for a trailer on an 1/8 green pumpkin bitsy bug jig and caught a 4 pound bass. All my other friends got skunked.
  25. Another vote for the ultra vibe speed craw.My favorite color for a black & blue jig is black sapphire.
