  1. Lol. Why so serious? I'm going with this explanation. It takes longer to make one full revolution with the pedals but the gearing and distance traveled is still the same.
  2. Lol. If it gets that cold outside this winter, I may have to open the windows!
  3. Looking at the numbers, the handle seems huge for the reel but I'm sure it would be a great match. Finally going to get that ML *** ordered today or tomorrow!
  4. Shore bound but I carry Hemostats or needle nose pliers depending on what gear I bring, kids fiscars scissors, measuring tape and that's it. Also carry a small first aid kit and travel size bug spray. Both can make a terrible fishing day better.
  5. Super flukes or regular flukes? Quite a bit of difference in size. The super fluke is a heavy bait and you shouldn't have any issue casting them on a MH rod.
  6. Really considering a hawgtech for my curado 51. The stock handle seems smallish especially when burning baits.

They both have a lifetime warranty. I'm liking the Dr slicks more though. http://www.drslick.com/warranty http://www.wjblog.net/mobile/contentMobile.php?userChoice=william-joseph-warranty

I believe they are all stainless? The one I'm replacing were too but no longer locked after about a year of use and I could barely crush barbs with them as the handles bent under the pressure. I'll also look into those slicks.

My fleabay special Hemostats were left at the lake last outing so I'm looking to replace them. I saw rapala, mustad, Berkley and others make their own. Does anyone have a favorite or preference? I do have pliers I use for heavier tackle but I mainly fish light tackle and the 7" size I had worked excellent.
  10. One of my favorite rods was a 6' shimano compre. I was crazy accurate and did all of my fishing with it at the time. I've owned a Fenwick eagle gt 7' and found it heavy and awkward. I prefer 6'-6'9 rods for fresh and 7' for salt fishing.

I personally would rather stop the threat with a proven hollow point (hst, gold dot, pdx, golden saber, Ranger etc) without having to second guess whether those shot shells will do the job. Especially if the BG happens to also be armed with a knife or firearm or maybe even hopped up on drugs. I'm not saying what you're doing is wrong, but I personally would not carry those with the intentions to defend myself or loved ones for a potentially life threatening situation. If someone is coming at me ready to inflict great bodily harm or worse, you can bet I will stop them immediately. Forgot to add, when facing a situation like that, that unfolded in seconds, how sure are you that you can make that face shot? Twice. I know ccw is a very personal decision. I'm not sure what kind of training you have, but all I posted is in my opinion and please take it as such.

I would look into how the courts would feel about you shooting someone in the face with one of those....or should those first two shots not stop the threat charging at you with a knife. I would not recommend them other than for snake control or something. Imo of course.

Wilderness makes very good nylon belts for the price. I wear my easy fit frequent flyer daily.
  14. I've always fished by myself from the bank. I've been out with a friend or two on occasion but usually it's just me with one rod and a small bag of tackle.

Aside from women being turned off by huge handguns, something small like the pocket 380s are not something for a new shooter either. Have her try a full size or compact 9mm with a reputation for low perceived recoil. It will make both of your experiences pleasant.

Isn't that the same federal that used to be less than half of that a couple years ago? Match ammo has always been there but expensive for plinking imo. I will admit, if/when I get the 22 itch again and prices are what they are now, I probably will pay but jeez. It's ridiculous.

Good point. I guess it depends a lot on your area. Here in South miami LGS get away with high priced ammo. Most ranges charge $17-20 for a box of 115gr fmj federal, American Eagle and even their own reloads. It's been getting better but I still prefer to order online when I can. Even with shipping I get boxes for $12-14 per for the same federal and blazer brass. I've tried cabelas herters nylon jacket stuff and was pleasantly surprised especially for the price.

I remember hearing this last year! Lol If the demand never ceases... It's obvious the companies are still producing, it's just people are still in panic/hoarding mode for no reason.

Love my shield. Got about 450 rounds through mine without a single issue.

    Mags for....?
  21. Yeah the humidity can drive anyone crazy down here. I lucked out on my second holster, an on your 6 designs iwb kydex with a single open clip. Easy on, easy off. No excess material and I didn't have to wait weeks or months to get it. Only a few days. Really worth the $30 I spent and for whatever reason it breaks, it's warrantied for life, iirc. Could you tell me how many rounds you have through your 9c? Any hiccups? I've been on the fence between that and the M&P9c for a double stack compact. Sorry to thread jack, OP.
  22. Excellent posts. All of my personal bests were caught on my #1 confidence bait... A super fluke Jr.
  23. I agree. Mikes work and prices cant be beat. Next time my reel goes to him for annual cleaning, a tuning will be done as well. I hope for the same results as everyone else.
  24. What holster do you carry your 9c in?

I've sold my 10/22 and charger since 22 became so rare. I honestly rather shoot a $0.28 9mm bullet than a bulk pack $0.12 22 that may or may not ignite, feed or eject correctly. Now if it ever goes back to how it used to be when I could grab a federal value pack of 550 at Walmart for under $20, I'll build another 22. Until then, I do not have my hopes up.
