I own and have owned various 2 piece rods like Fenwicks and my crucial spinning and have no issues. I just prefer a 2 piece. The other rod I'm considering is the 6"10 mh/f clarus but recently saw the carbonlite is available in a 2 piece and is supposed to be much lighter than most in its class. The lower lure rating is 3/8oz,is that accurate?

I've read a ton of stuff on the one piece carbonlites but not so much on the 2 pieces. Are they good to go? I'm lookin at the 2 piece 7 mh/f casting.

To be honest, I've only fished creature baits a handful of time with no success. I gotta give them another go this year.

Thanks guys, keep em coming! Seems culprit is one of the more popular ribbon tails. I'm trying to get some ideas for a small tackle bag for my bait casting rig and all I have now aside from senkos and flukes are my smaller profile baits I throw on light spinning gear.

What's everyone's top 3 plastics you throw on a weighted t-rig using 3/0 offset and 4/0 ewg hooks?

Hp bearings are shield less fwiw. Not sure how that effects performance but makes cleaning easier.

I once went on a field trip to the burger king headquarters when it was still down here in South Miami. For lunch they brought us burgers and fries. You would think they would change the oil or throw out fries that sat for what seemed like weeks instead of serving it to unsuspecting kids. Gross. The employees didn't like it when I told them how nasty it was.

I'm always grateful I have a roof over my head, a loving wife and the cutest daughter. I had both older versions of the clarus and compre with the full cork handles and those were amazing for the price. The new blanks they use arnt the same even though they have higher IM ratings fwiw. Not better or worse, just different imo. The lower rated weight was more accurate on the older rods than the new. At least on the compre i had. Not sure about the clarus...

I plan to carry my 9mm shield as soon as I can. Going to apply for my permit next week! The sr9c is on my short list of next purchases but the m&p 9c keeps calling me.

I use the amber tinted cocoons over my glasses. They're big and ugly but they work great for fishing and driving. I've been thinking about getting contacts. Last time I wore some was like 13 years ago. I would assume they are more comfortable now than they were then.

I've had a premier for a short time before I returned it. It just felt dead in my hands so I stayed away em.

I'm looking for some input on any casting rods at or around the $100 mark. So far, I'm torn between the Fenwick elite smallmouth and the shimano clarus. This would be another all around rod for me so a bit of backbone is needed. I mainly fish plastics <6" with a bit of top water.

I almost exclusively fish light tackle and caught my biggest on fluke jr's and 4" cut tails t rigged weightless.
