Love fishing with light tackle. So much that I got rid of my heavier stuff simply because I never used it. My primary rod is a 6'8 l/f river runner with a saros 1000. Spooled with 15 and 20# braid with a 6# cxx leader. I've landed some chunky bass on this rig and love the fight I get from it.

just checked those out. they do look pretty nice but not exactly what im currently looking for. i did have a triumph (or it may have been a premier?) and it was pretty heavy for what it was. while it was sensitive, it felt more like a MH than the M it was rated at. i think i need to plan a trip to my BPS and handle some rods.

I've considered the avids but I keep reading that they're stiffer than rated.I'd like a true ML.

Im planning on grabbing a 7' ml/f spinning rod for an all around travel rig. Im stuck between the compre and crucial. I've had compres in the past and always liked them. Is the crucial worth the extra cash? Im also curious about those reel seats. Any opinions on the two? Thanks

it is indeed a 9mm. apparently its the last of the p series offered by ruger. so far i have around 400 rounds of miscellaneous ammo through it and only had a few ftf's when i first went to the range. i figured it was me being a new shooter and limp wristing. i ended up buying a set of those hand grip strengthener things and that improved my grip dramatically. i have one in the house and leave one in the car for those times im stuck in traffic. overall im very pleased with it and its been very accurate out of the box.

i use the snack size zip lock brand bags. they are thick enough to not easily get punctured. i usually put 3-5 of each type of plastic ill be using that day and bring that along with me. so instead of carrying 4 or 5 10-20 count bags of bait, ill only be carrying 15-20 baits total. this may not work for everyone but it does very well for me since i fish from shore and my outings are only a couple hours long.

im also interested in seeing some bass tattoos. i have a tribal dragon on the side of my leg that i got for free when the artist was just starting...and you can tell. especially compared to her later work. now i dont regret it but i will not do that again. she did my wifes full color koi fish on her shoulder and it looks awesome. im planning on getting an aries symbol and my daughters birth date soon by the same artist.

thanks for all the replies guys. so far i have around 130 rounds (both FMJ and hollow points) through it and only a couple FTFeed which happened with the first couple magazines and i figure was me limp wristing. since then its been 100%. at the moment i have a mag full of 147gr hydra shock. ive been meaning to pick up some of the hornady critical rounds but everywhere seems to sell out before i get there.

unfortunately i havnt bought anything from tackle warehouse in a while and have none of their tubes laying around. ill try the 2" pvc. its cheap enough locally. thanks guys.

has anyone used 2" pvc to ship a casting rod? ive used 3" for spinning rods but never shipped a casting. thanks

ive seen those as well....the handle is on the wrong side though, lol.

a citica or revo s was what i originally had in mind but something about those small round reels makes me want one.

to those who own the two piece clarus, can you comment on them? what size reel do you have on them and how does it balance? im thinking about putting together a budget trunk casting rig and keep coming back to the clarus with a small round reel like a 4601.

i did pick up a 25rd box of remington ultimate home defense while i was at bass pro. it was the only non FMJ ammo they had in 9mm.
