Strike King Crankbaits-VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris Brown from Strike King came through with flying colors!! I got a box from Fed Ex today and I got the replacement Red Eyes in Sexy Shad(3 each) and the Series 6 in Sexy Shad. He also threw in 2 more series 6 in Sexy Shad,A hat and a 2011 Catalog. Chris Brown made everything A-OK. Ive been following the Strike King Posts on Facebook, and it seems that Chris Brown has been out of town covering the latest tourney,as he is the one that was posting the updates from the event. Im a happy camper once again. I sent my distorted Rattle Spots to Pradco/Cotton Cordell as they requested...Lets see if they come through with the same kind of service!!

Name one bait you would never expect to catch anything on
We all have this situation. We buy crertain baits and never use em cause they dont look like they would catch anything. Then one day we give that bait a try for the heck of it and it ends up boating a bunch of fish and turns out to be your favorite from then on. Anyone have an experience like that?

Manns Auger Tail worms
Anyone know these worms very well? I have read all kinds of stories of how these worms are excellent and have been listed in the 10 best list for Bass catching lures. What is so special about these worms? Whats the best way to rig them for a successful fishing outing? Anyone have any first hand accounts of success when using these? Are these the same as the Jelly Worms? If not, whats the big deal on those?

Perhaps something to consider when T-Rigging
Ive been tinkering around with baits and different Rigs in my 55 Gal Aquarium. I was dropping in a Berkley Powerhawg t-rigged in a natural manner and noticed something. When I dropped the rig into the water, the sinker went down to the bottom rather quickly,as it should, but the bait sorta had a slower glide to the bottom. Then I would give the line a few initial tiny twitches, and the bait behaved very inconsistantly on every twitch. Sometimes it would move forward, other times it would slide sideways, until it got reunited with the sinker, which may be up to a few feet away in a real world casting situation. So the conclusion of this for me is,that when fishing a T-rig and casting it,Wait till it hits the bottom, and twitch it ever so lightly to incorporate tiny unnatural, unpredictable movements up until the bait and sinker reunite(which youll only have to guess when that happens). Then once the bait and sinker meet, the bait will move in the direction it was meant to.(example: a craw will obviously move backwards.) If a fish has followed the bait on the drop, and didnt grab it,it may be staring at the bait. Who knows, maybe these strange movements will trigger a strike. Now im not sure if this is new for anyone, but It was cool to study the actual way the sinker and bait dont stay together on the drop and how the bait behaves until they are reunited.

Old Jitterbugs vs. new ones
Anyone know that Arbogast lures is being marketed(sold) by Pradco? The same company that markets YUM,HEDDON,BOMBER,COTTON CORDELL,SMITHWICK,REBEL,XCALIBUR,LAZY IKE,SILVER THREAD,CREEK CHUB,and BOOYAH products. Maybe thats why the quality of the baits has changed. http://www.lurenet.com/catalog.aspx?catid=LuresByBrand

What does a MADMAN Craw look like?
Are those YUM crawbug style baits the ones ive heard of people disliking?

What does a MADMAN Craw look like?
Ive periodically read about this bait and how effective it is.Im pretty confused though. At WalMart they carry some MADMAN craw baits, but there are several different styles and designs. From Craw worms to Craw Bugs like Yum makes. What does the "true" Madman Craw that everyone raves about actually look like?

"Stitching" ?"
Go to: http://www.lunkercity.com/ Look for "Muscleworm" Click on it and youll see it says "stitching information" written vertically. Click on it and youll see the animation about how to "stitch"

Weightless Beaver Baits
Anyone throw Beaver baits weightless with success? I read somewhere that this is a deadly technique as the bait will glide and "parachute" like a real craw would on the fall. Anyone care to share their weightless Beaver Experiences?
-
Gene Larew Flip'n Chick'n
Anyone ever heard of this bait? I have an opportunity to buy some in Bulk, but cant really tell what these actually look like. Looked all over online and cant find anything about them. Anyone know this bait or what this bait would compare to?

How To: Fish A Craw
So Im wrong in that I have been "shortening" my Larew Craws to use them as a Jig trailer and havent tried them as is on a T-rig?
-
How To: Fish A Craw
Craws live on the bottom, unless they are fleeing from a predator, they are on the bottom. As fishermen /women we all know this What I dont understand is why do some people insist on using a VERY Crawlike" bait on a Dropshot 12-24 inches off the bottom? I just never could understand how this could be effective

Shimano Bantam for cranking applications
I have a couple Shimano Bantam reels(Bantam 10XSG & Bantam Mag 10XSG) I have been using this season with soft plastics. I must say I like these reels. Im fully aware that these arent for heavy duty applications, but I was wondering how these reels would handle small crankbaits that go to the 7-10 ft range.(something like a small Manns 10+ crankbait) What about other baits, like a 1/4 oz Chatterbait? I know the gear ratio leaves a little(or alot) to be desired, anyone use these for cranks and spinnerbaits(chatterbaits)? How do they perform? Is everyone that uses these reels satisfied with the gear ratio,or do they not have enough of a gear to provide the optimum action and speed to a bait. Do these baits wear you out after using them all day cranking?

TriggerX - $5
You got ripped off. Local Walmart has them, and has had them for a looong time at $2 a pack.Theyre not exactly "flying" off the shelves.

favorite multispecies fishing mag?
In Fisherman hands down...Is there really any other thats not just regional?

Are those bass?
It will take a lot more than 7 seconds to cut and tie on a new lure. Cutting braid takes longer than that for me as it is. just get some braid scissors. : Its almost back to school time. Hit any of the big box stores and pick up some plain ol Fiskars School scissors. They are dirt cheap and cut the braid just as well as the specific "Braided line" scissors. http://www.schoolsuppliestoyou.com/fiskars-scissors-sharp-2909.html

Berkley Bulky Hawg
I just picked up a bulk pack of 100 of these in Black. They are 3 inches long. Has anyone ever used these and how do these compare to Baby Brush Hogs and other creature baits? Even though I have already ordered them, im a little concerned about the 3" size. I cant really visualize the actual size. Are these gonna be "Micro" type baits? http://www.lure.jp/l_b/worm/b-w-berkly-pbh99.jpg

Best setup for a Chatterbait type lure
Ive watched the tutorial video Glenn put together about spinnerbaits, and one thing I keyed in on was him saying that its just not practical to throw a spinnerbait with a Spinning outfit. So what about the latest craze, Chatterbaits,Pure Poison and the other baits similar to these. I have several smaller SK Pure Poison baits(3/16oz) and im not sure I can get any really good distance casting this light of a lure on a baitcaster, without the fear of a serious backlash/birdsnest. Id probably wear myself out trying to get distance, casting that light thing all day on a Baitcaster. Anyone throw Chatterbait type baits on a spinning setup with success?
