Anyone use either of thee baits? Supposed to be like a swimbait and have wicked side to side motion /vibration. Wondering anyone (even the old timers,cause that where it originated I believe, in the old days) have ever used it and how is it as a bait?

1.- Split the tail 2.- Rig it weedless "backwards" ( insert the hook in between the flippers ) 3.- Add water and fish, you 're ready to go. It 's one of the few baits that sink away from you. So Are you talking about fishing this bait in this manner Weightless? If you are afaird to use them why in the heck did you buy them ? I didnt exactly intentionally buy them. I scour Ebay always looking for package deals on assorted baits. I found a seller that was selling some stickbaits and some Zoom Worms and along with that deal came a few bags of Beaver style baits. Guess he didnt know what to do with them either So I paid for what I really wanted and got the Beaver style baits as Extras.I never thought to ask the seller to leave out the beaver style baits cause I dont use em.I buy it all as one package deal,whether it contains a bait I normally dont use or not. I have bought plenty of "lots" of baits and I normally take what I like and stash the rest,or I put the "non used" baits in a different box to prep for resale once the box gets full. Figure since I have the Beavers and have heard so many good things about them,I might as well ask those folks here that actually have first hand experience using them,what he deal is with them,thats all.

FIRST OFF-- I DONT want this subject to turn into a debate about stickbaits, Please,lets stay on the HOOK topic-Wacky Rigging with Stick baits. Im not concerned about what you prefer as far as stickbaits,Im interested in knowing what size and style hook you use when fishing this particular bait wacky rigged.) That being said,I normally throw the bait weightless on an Octopus hook. I put the hook straight through the body of the bait after I fold the bait in half to find the center. Does anyone throw the bait wacky with a different style hook? I know the size hook I like to use when I see it,but right now I cant remember what I size I normally use,I havent been on the water yet this year and all my gear is in storage still. . What size and style hook do most of you all use when Wacky rigging stickbaits?

I have always been a stick bait user(senko ect) and then I tried Baby Brush Hogs. I have a pretty good amount of confidence in them as well. So maybe I need to only take the Beavers with me one outing and force myself to fish them,in order to build confidence. Right now,I look at those Beavers and I am just not feeling it though. Just like the whole Rage Craze. I jumped on the bandwagon and bought up almost $100 worth of Rage Baits,I keel weighted them and T-rigged em and Only ended up with 2 fish which were pretty small(under 13 inches). While everyone else was catching HUGE fish with the Rage Baits,I was way low on the totem pole and thus have lost confidence in them as well.Now Big O if your reading this,Im not knocking your product. Its obvious you have an awesome product. I just happen to be one of those unlucky ones that cant catch anything on the Rage Baits...Suppose it happens... Im actually starting to question the body of water I fish because I can only consistently catch dinks. Every so often I catch a fish worthy of bragging about in this lake,like the one in my Avatar.

I feel your pain on these baits, I have some the Berkley Beasts(small) and BPS Tiny Beavers. Fished with them, no results yet. I think your main problem is fishing from a ' 10" jon boat ' i think ten inches is a little small to fish from, unless you are fishing in your fish tank in that ten inch boat... ;D Ok you got me ;D...I fixed it .

I keep hearing about Ugly Otters,Sweet Beavers,Beaver craws,and similar baits like these. I have several Bags but I am reluctant to fish them cause I just dont understand what the big "Whoop" is with them. I know people pitch and flip them,but I have a problem that I cant do this. I am fishing from a 10' Jon Boat and am always seated while Im fishing. So can someone enlighten me on why these beaver style baits are so effective and why they are so popular,cause I just dont get it. Ive rigged em up and played with them in my 55 Gallon Aquarium,and didnt really see anything special as far as movement and appealing features. I know this doesnt really compare to "real world on the water" results,so I need some coaxing to try these Beaver baits out. I know they make great Jig Trailers,and thats another thing I dont throw(yet)

Is the reasoning behind using a paddletail on a shakey head due to the paddletail riding up off the bottom when its fished?

Ya know,The I like the looks of the baits I posted above,and as stated It seems they are now being made by Stanley. If you look at the link for the Stanley ITZABUG,Theres a video of the bait in action. I dont know if its because they are trying it weightless,but it doesnt seem to have alot of appendage action.On the dropshot setup they display,there doesnt seem to be any seriouss appealing motion. Maybe these baits look good but dont perform? Now as far as the Larew Hoodaddy,thats a pretty cool looking bait. Thanks for the link.

Ive seen French Fry/Centipede baits but have never seen one like the one pictured. It came in a "lot" (package deal) of baits I recently purchased on Ebay. The package says its a "Carolina Flash" bait made by U-NEED-A Lure company.It is manufactured as seen,I didnt add the willow leaf spinner with the swivel.Thats how the bait comes. The bait itself is about 4 inches long,maybe 4.5-5 inches with the swivel and spinner blade. Any ideas of how to best present this bait.

About a year ago I posted about a bait I was trying to identify.It was similar to a Zoom Brush hog(creature bait). I had purchased a "lot" of baits and some of the baits I have pictured were included in that lot. I posted here to see if anyone could ID the baits,as they were bagged in some generic Ziploc bags. Some people had ideas,but the exact name of the bait and manufacturer were never pinpointed. Fast forward to present day. I have again purchased a "lot" of baits and in that lot were 2 bags of the exact bait I was trying to ID previously.I now know these baits are 4" Gator Pups manufactured by Reaction Baits.They also make a 5" version called a Gator Dog Now that this has been established,I would like to know if anyone knows where I can get more? For some reason I REALLY like this bait. I have tried the website listed on the bag(www.reactionlures.com) and it comes up with some Japanese stuff and a picture of a girl brushing her teeth(?) If anyone knows of anyone who carries these Reaction baits,and would be willing to divulge this info or any other info concerning this company,id be most appreciative. **EDIT** I have done some searching online and have discovered Reaction Lures was bought out by Stanley Lures. I have a 55 gallon Fish tank and I sometimes test different baits to see how they act. I tried the paddletail worm out and the tail basically looked like it was "thumping" like a swimbait. So is this the desired effect,and can paddletail worms be a cheap alternative to swimbaits?

Ive seen Paddletail worms,and recently found a bag of assorted baits with a few paddletail worms in it. Ive never used this style of worm. Whats a good presentation? What is the reason behind the paddletail,what does it accomplish over ribbon style worms? Any other info or success/confidence examples or stories would be appreciated. This is a worm style I have overlooked,but now I am curious to try em.

Well the Swimbaits arrived today.I have added an AA battery for size comparison I can tell you the 2 together in the box are Optimum Line Thru Baits. The Fish Arrow isnt all that big like I had imagined. The previous owner "doctored" the bait a little by adding some nail polish gills and black spots. Im not to fond of this,but well what are ya gonna do? Now as far as the Sebile style bait,I cant tell what it is. No markings,but it does have rattles inside. Anyone know for sure what this bait might be? The other is an Optimum Internal head

Just did some research as far as the sellers "completed listings." I found the seller I bought these swimbaits from had auctioned the Fish Arrow Bait previously by itself. In that auction he described it as a Fish Arrow Spooky Jack Jr.. On this Ebay deal, I purchased them because of the price. I did some research based on the description given,but the whole "Monster Jack" description wasnt jiving with the pictures I have researched. Hence the question. Say these baits are as Raul says they are(which I have no reason to doubt) what would the going rate for a collection of baits like this be,with or without the box,individually or as a set like Ive shown? I picked this deal up for about $15. I figure if I never use em,I could always sell em individually and at least break even...There maybe a little profit to be made as well.

I just recently purchased a box with some swimbaits off Ebay. The description reads: Swimbaits are pictured. All are new except the double jointed one with red gill. Price is for all including plano box Brands are Optimum, Monster Jack and not sure on the other. Im not so sure on the brands as the seller described. Can anyone give a positive ID of the baits based on the picture? Im just curious as to what I will actually be receiving. Im especially concerned about the one with the red gills...What is it,who makes it? What about the hard jointed bait next to it? Im almost certain the 2 smaller soft swimbaits together are Baby Line Thru and the other soft one is an Optimum..Am I close?

Yep pretty much just a spincast reel disquised inside a shell that looks like a baitcaster.

Well I tried to introduce her to spinning reels and she just wasnt having it,so I didnt think she would spend a whole lot of time trying a baitcaster. My wife said she loves her Spidercast reel I got her. She has a thing for Black widow spiders(Dont ask). She was tickled,says she never thought she would ever expect to get excited at recieving a new reel,as she doesnt fish often,but when she does,she loves it.
