Jitterbug
A large pair of Diagonal Cutters or Dykes as they are also called will work,as will a small pair of bolt cutters. Make sure you shield yourself from the hooks as they can fly and really hurt you. Wear safety glasses, some gloves, and when you cut the hooks, make sure you try to get it to where the hooks will fly away from you if you can.

Jitterbug
That gurgle is pretty hypnotizing isnt it? Havent fished the bait in years, but when I used to I caught some nice fish on it. When is the last time anyone saw one of these style Jitterbugs. I suppose the design is supposed to be of a weedless nature,Anyone know just how weedless this bait is?

Can anyone ID these crankbaits?
I recently got these crankbaits in a lot I purchased online. I would like to know what they all are. They all Have some sort of rattle, and as far as I can see they are all at least medium to deep divers. I think the Chartreuse/Blue Bait is a Manns 10+,as thats what it says on the side. The others dont have any markings however. Can anyone help solve this puzzle. To the best of my knowledge these are all made of plastic.

Jitterbug
I actually think Jitterbugs (and other topwaters) should have a Surgeons General Warning on them. Warning: Using these Topwater baits can result in huge, explosive strikes and can in some cases cause heart problems. Use at your own risk, not responsible for heart attacks. I was using a Jitterbug last night when it got dark. I was on pins and needles waiting for that huge, explosive strike, but it never came. Instead I got a sound that sounded alot like a kissing noise, where the fish mustve just came up and given it a love tap. Dont know if its really sane to anticiapte a strike like that, but I know when they hit, they slam it,so I prepared myself as much as possible.

What can anyone tell me about the quality, construction and anything else about a Bumble Bee Lures CHOPPER BEE Spinnerbait. Heard they are very unique, and desireable Any one fish them with success? How do these stand up against other Spinnerbaits. The ones I have are still in the package and the skirt looks old and dried out,may need to switch the skirts to a newer style,Ill try em as is until the skirt on them falls apart(However long that takes)

Is there anything special about WAR EAGLE spinnerbaits?
I just got a WAR EAGLE spinnerbait with some other Spinnerbaits I purchased on Ebay. Ive heard the name War Eagle mentioned numerous times over the past couple of years and was wondering if there is really something special to these baits? Anyone here just swear by them? Are they that much a better bait, and what is it about them that make s a difference?

Anyone ever used a Trout CZ or other line through swimbait?

Anyone ever used a Trout CZ or other line through swimbait?
I recently purchased a Trout CZ swimbait on Ebay. Rigging shouldnt be any trouble. Run the line throught the nose,it will exit just behing the gills in the belly. This is where it gets a little thought provoking. I need to tie on a treble hook, but where do I stick it into the body of the bait? The bait is about 7 inches long. Do I stuck the trable hook right where the line exits(near the head) or do I run the line a little further back and maybe stick the hook more towards the rear of the bait, maybe a happy compromise of putting it in the center? Ive never caught anything on a larger swimbait,so Im not sure exactly where the strike takes place. Do the fish typically strike from the rear, side, front?

pb catfish
If the tail is forked its a Channel cat. Otherwise if its an ugly brown color and has a hideous face with a lower jaw that protrudes out further than the upper jaw its a flathead. Blues look like Channel cats with the exception of the forked tail. Most of the times a male channel cat will have a huge blocky head with a slender tapered body

First it was Senko Style Baits,Then Baby Brush Hog Baits Now Its...
I only fish one body of water. I do take 4 rods with me and have different stuff on each, but as of late,I have only been throwing Spinnerbaits. Guess that has to do with the wind. I have thrown a crazy legs chigger craw and caught a few,but I always revert back to a spinnerbait.

Trailer hook or trailer on a spinnerbait
I tried to picture putting a trailer on the trailer hook and then attaching it to the main spinnerbait hook with a keeper, wouldnt that make the bait VERY long in profile? Would this work with any success? Im not exactly saying im doubtful,as I am new to Spinnerbait fishing and im sure anything is possible, but please enlighten me to any success stories with this method.

Trailer hook or trailer on a spinnerbait
Can both a trailer hook and trailer be used on a spinnerbait? Ive been throwing spinnerbaits and the trailer hook has helped me out on more than 1 occasion. How would you incorporate a trailer onto a spinnerbait when you are using a trailer hook? Can both be used on one bait without having problems with the bait getting fouled up? Please share your experiences. Is it a matter of being able to incoroporate either one or the other and not both?

First it was Senko Style Baits,Then Baby Brush Hog Baits Now Its...
Spinnerbaits!!! 2 years ago I really got started Bass fishing. I was throwing ONLY Senko Style baits,NOTHING else. Then I tried Baby Brush Hog Style baits with success, and thats all I ever threw. For some reason Im stuck on a spinnerbait now. Not ordinary spinnerbaits,I only throw baits with Indiana Blades, and Luck E Strike Tricksters. Ok bait monkey,Whats gonna be next? Anyone else find them selves comfortable throwing just one kind of bait, and not throwing ANYTHING else?

Good way to end the day/Thankful for trailer hooks
Well I went to the lake pretty early yesterday. Started throwing my newly acquired Manns Classic Twin Spin 1/2 ounce Spinnerbait. After about 6 casts a gust of wind came in and that Spinnerbait ended up high in a tree. :'( However I went to another spot and while I was throwing a Chigger Craw,I hooked up with a strand of old Fishing line. Attached to the end was a Willow Leaf Strike King Spinnerbait(Minus the skirt) So All is not lost at this point. It wasnt too productive of a day,I boated 6 over the course of 9 hours on the water. The wind was wreaking havoc on my little Jon boat, sending me drifting ,even when I was anchored front and rear. It was just starting to get dark and I didnt have all my senses adjusted correctly, when I hooked into the best fish of the day. Not a trophy, but made it that much easier to go home with a smile on my face.Afterall I had lost a Mattlures Bluegill on a snag on the bottom, and A Mattlures Trout because my reel backlashed and the line snapped( Again :'( .) I totally believe in Trailer hooks as this fish was caught on That hook only while throwing a 1/4 ounce Trickster Spinnerbait. Is it me or does this fish look a little thin? Perhaps a Spawned out female?

Hildebrandt Snagless Sally Spinnerbait
Anyone ever used these with success. I got a few in a tackle box I purchased on Ebay. Dont look like they would work, but reviews over at Basspro.com tell a different story. Any first hand experience with these baits? http://reviews.basspro.com/2010/7433/reviews.htm

Ok Bassresource.com Members... You Make the call
The problem is that for the first 15 minutes,I had noone to ask to move the equipment. Noone was around. It started out to be a nice day to fish and I didnt let it ruin my day,I launched right after this guy got his stuff in the water. The weather stayed nice for a little and then the weekend crowd started showing up,raising a ruckus, swimming right in the path where your casting,RC boats, People skipping rocks, dogs in the water ect,and then the wind came and that was all she wrote. I stayed on the water, but the bite just went away.Either that or I just couldnt concentrate anymore.

I was launching a 10 ft Aluminum Jon Boat out of the back of my 1980 Ford Cargo van. I usually stop the back tire right at the waters edge, and proceed with removing the boat out of the van. Had I of done this in this case without moving this other parsons rig,I would have surely run it over.

Manns Classic Hank Parker Spinnerbait Twin Spin
Now that you mention that,it makes sense.I have only started using Spinnerbaits as my confidence is building in them and have had at least 4 fish throw the bait. They werent anything huge, but the loss of a fish period to me is heart breaking.

Luck E Strike Trickster Spinnerbait
I didnt see a bulge while I was retrieving so I think I was about 6-12 inches under the surface. At times I did wake the bait(create a bulge) but that wasnt entirely intentional,it just happened. I just cast it out and retrieved it,no pauses, and most of the 4 fish hit just as I started making my retrieve. The largest one(pictured) hit it as it past him ,he was sitting against a rock cliff that went deep into the water, mustve been sunning himself.

Manns Classic Hank Parker Spinnerbait Twin Spin
Anyone ever used this one or one like it? I purchased it on Ebay thinking it was a normal "Classic",but got this one instead. Not saying im unhappy, just never seen or used one like it. The arm pivots where it goes into the lead head of the spinnerbait, dont know how durable that can be. The line tie is way different too. Any thoughts on this bait would be appreciated.

Luck E Strike Trickster Spinnerbait
Anyone else ever used these Rick Clunn designed Spinnrbaits with success? I used a 1/8 ounce model yesterday for the first time. first 3 casts I ended up boating 3 fish. The Trailer hook played no part in these catches, they hit the main hook. Throwing light baits like that really wore me out though.Pictured is the largest of the 4 fish I boated on this spinnerbait.

I launch my 10 ft Jon out of the back of a 1980 Ford Econoline van. I remove the boat from the back of the van, guide it over to the side of the ramp(off the ramp),unload all my stuff out of the van,set it off to the side, then I hop in the van and go to park it. I then go down to assemble my gear, install my TM /Battery and such. The problem I had with this little pontoon, was for about the first 15 minutes,I had no idea who the pontoon belonged to It was just sitting the unattended, noone was around. Then I see someone coming from the parking lot and assume he is the owner, and I was correct. I was tempted to move the pontoon to the side, but was concerned that this may cause some problem as I certainly dont like people messing with my stuff, although this guy was clearly in the wrong.

Got to the lake early today and wanted to launch, but was held up by a One man Pontoon sitting on the boat ramp(Unattended): I look over and see a sign: Now the sign clearly says that Interfering with launching of watercraft is prohibited.I mustve waited a good 20 minutes while this yay-hoo took his sweet time getting his stuff organised up at his truck in the parking lot. After he came back,of course he had to put on his waders and whatever else fly fisherman do. He knew I was ready to launch,my vehicle was backed up ready to go,but he just dilly dallied along.Couldnt he just have moved to the side so I could do my business, get in and out and be done. Now the question. Is this considered INTERFERING(Like on the sign posted) or is this just being inconsiderate? I did a little research and the statute on the sign is as follows: 5-347. Interference with navigation or launching areas A. No person shall unreasonably or unnecessarily interfere with other watercraft, with the free and proper use of the waterways of the state or with areas used for launching watercraft onto such waterways. Anchoring or swimming in heavily traveled channels or launching areas shall constitute such interference. B. No person shall camp or park any vehicle on any boat launching area or otherwise restrict or prevent free access to any area.
