Anyone ever successful with true floating worms?
Went out Monday and threw my Bubblegum Flaoting worms. Hooked up with one,I then moved to another spot and got 2 bites but missed em,I followed up with a Spinnerbait and hooked up. It started to get windy so the worm went away and the spinnerbait was thrown the rest of the day. I now know floating worms DO work and am gonna try one out tomorrow on a Florida rig hooked Wacky Style.

Good tool to invest in for battery life
I went to a Kmart yesterday and found a neat compact battery tester. I never knew how valuable this tool would be. I knew my battery was on its way to a discharge after being on the lake on Monday ,I used the meter and it tells me the battery still has 1/3rd charge. It has a light for the following settings: Fully Charged 2/3 Charged 1/3 Charged Recharge I then put my battery on the charger all night, the needle on the charger said it was fully charged. The tester still told me it was at 1/3rd charge. Then it dawned on me. I was charging the battery while it was sitting on the metal floor of my van. I moved it over to a wooden 2X6 and continued to charge it all day. The needle on my Charger showed the battery wasnt yet fully charged, yet it had been on the charger all day. I checked it against my handy little tester and the tester tells me I have a full charge. I then tested the battery on my van,and it read full charge too. Seems the readings on my charger are off, glad I double checked. Pick one of these little testers up,they really come in handy!! Cost about $12.00 and is very compact. http://seasense.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=shop.flypage&product_id=181&category_id=22&manufacturer_id=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26

Swimbait dillema
I got all amped up over the swimbait craze over the winter and bought a bunch of different kinds. I have 2-6 inch Huds and am afraid of throwing them for fear of losing them. They are just so nice looking, and actually on my budget they are pretty $$$ for a bait. Guess it could also be that I tossed em out a few times and when reeling them back in I just kept saying" Im a Dumb ol Trout." over and over trying to get the lazy trout swim thing right(I read that you have to be one with the bait). People on the bank mustve thought I was crazy,as I was saying it out loud(I was by myself in the boat, had to keep myself company) Anyways I didnt get any bites,so theres no confidence in this bait. I know they cant catch fish if I dont use them but if I use them and lose em for whatever reason,Ill just cry. Ive already dropped a Mattlures Crappie over the side of my boat while I was having a Dumb-bass attack(if you get my drift). Wasnt paying attention when tying it on and somehow instead of cutting the tag line, I cut the main line and tossed the bait over the side. I then picked up my rod to prepare for a cast and nothing was tied on...DOH!!! So as far as the swimbait thing...If I fish them...Will they come?

Confidence in Spinnerbaits and has this ever happened to you?
Ya know I really HATE the wind,I mean hate it. People know I get UBER grouchy and irritable in the wind, but for some reason I decided not to let it get the best of me yeterday. Made it work to my advantage. I like throwing soft plastics, but its hard to control my 10' Jon Boat in the wind,I cant keep the presentaation the way i want in the wind. With Spinnerbaits, its a no brainer. The fish pictured in my Avatar was caught on the exact same bait I was throwing yesterday. Its a Strike King Spin Dance Spinnerbait, which I inherited when my Uncle passed away. Its done some good. So far Ive caught 7 fish on it. Ive never NOT caught something on it when I throw it.Its the only one I use.

Confidence in Spinnerbaits and has this ever happened to you?
Went out yesterday on what started as a nice day. Was throwing a Bubblegum floating worm T-Rigged and ended up catching 1 fish on it. Then the wind started picking up and instead of leaving like I normally do,I put on a Spinnerbait. Throughout the course of the day I caught 4 fish on the Spinnerbait, the largest being probably 2 pounds. I was pretty stoked as I never throw spinnerbaits. Oh and has anyone ever had a random fish just jump in the boat? I heard some commotion behind me in the baot and I took a look and this little fella jumped into my boat,he was gingerly recaptured and released. Heres release shot I took of the largest of the fish I caught yesterday,no wall hanger but fun nonetheless

How to fish big worms at night
Stayed out a little later than usual last night and decided to throw a black 10 inch Berkley power worm with a 5/0 Horny Toad hook. Crawled the Power Worm slowly on the bottom but didnt get any bites, did catch 4 fish on a Spin Dance spinnerbait and 1 fish on a Bubblegum colored floating worm T-Rigged earlier in the day though(it was pretty windy). Whats the best way to fish a Big Worm such a a 10" Power Worm at night? Faster or do I keep it S-L-O-W? Can anyone who has had success chime in?

Anyone ever successful with true floating worms?
Ive done a little research and read that floating worms in those crazy bright colors work well on Bedding Fish when sight fishing, and when the fish are on a topwater bite. Im going out tomorrow to try my floating Rattlesnake worms on the bottom T Rigged. Wish me luck.

Anyone ever successful with true floating worms?
I came across a package of BRIGHT PINK (AND I DO MEAN BRIGHT) Rattlesnake brand Floating worms recently. Ive never tried them but have examined how they acted in my 55 Gallon Aquarium T-rigged and wacky rigged. I like the action of both. Wondering if anyone has ever used true floating worms with any success and what are the best presentations and rigging options. Deep water or Shallow water? Can anyone school me on the ins and outs of this neat looking bait.

Does this make any sense..Please explain
Well...Ya wanna know what "bait" the person was talking about? The review he made was about a ZOOM Baby Brush Hog. I can say maybe its not a magic bait but its pretty close.

Teach me how to use my Fish Finder please
So about this sharp angle you speak of,let me get this straight. If I park(anchor) my boat "on" a slope,I could actually be on the slope, but the fish finder will show the slope as a flat bottom on the screen and not a slope, that I might actually be sitting on?? Well that takes frustration out of it even more,If thats what im actually understanding.

Does this make any sense..Please explain
Was browsing through consumer reviews for a particular soft plastic bait over at the Bass Pro website. One of the people writing a review said if you match the bait color to color of the bottom of the lake, you will have success. Now that doesnt sound right to me,What about when the water is 30 feet deep, and you cant tell if the bottom is weedy or rocky, and if you do know it is rocky, how do you know what color the rocks are? I know Im really just reading into the guys comment and over analyzing it,but seriously take a minute to think of that statement and see if doesnt sound a little ridiculous. Here is the comment he posted over the Bass Pro "This bait is absolutely magic !! It catches bass, pike, perch, Sander (European walleye) and accidentaly other fishes... Choose a color according with the color bottom of your favorite lake, rig it texas on a 2/0 wid gap hook, and fish it everywhere the fish could be... YOU CAN'T GO WRONG !!!"

Teach me how to use my Fish Finder please
That Lowrance tutorial relly helped me!! I sorta see what I am doing wrong. By the time I see a hump or something on my graph and its in the middle of my screen,I have already gone past it. I need to mark it just as it starts showing up on the right of my screen,or make a mental not that by the time I see the hump fully on the center of my screen that that hump is actually behind me.

Teach me how to use my Fish Finder please
I know I dont have the graph on preview mode, the depth reading is accurate(when im in skinny water,it shows up properly)but I cant seem to understand why I cant park my boat on underwater structure that shows up on the graph. Id like to be able to mark it with a buoy, and then back off and fish that spot. But when i get stopped on top of what I see on the graph, its not registering when I get anchored . I can see the line coming off my anchor in the graph. I know im just not doing something right and I would like to learn how to figger it out.

Teach me how to use my Fish Finder please
I have a CUDA 168 Fish Finder on my Jon Boat and cant seem to find it useful for anything except telling me water temps. I troll at the slowest setting I can and watch for any deviation in the bottom. Humps, ledges ect. Im prepared to drop my anchor immediately when I see something. I get anchored solidly and watch mt graph and the only thing I see is the flat bottom. I try to go reverse of the way i just came to try and find the spot again and cant find it. Can anyone help me to learn how to read this thing. I spent close to $100 on this unit and to me right now,its useless and im pretty dissapointed.

Bass bite best in what water temp?
Went out yesterday and couldnt find any fish AT ALL. Not even Dinks. It was pretty windy, water temp was 64* at the most. I was thinking maybe the water was still a little cold to be Bass fishing. At what temp do Bass become the most active? What about the Spawn,I know they spawn at certain temps at a certain time early in the year..Did I miss the spawn, and now the fish are deep again?

4 rod/reel setups,4 baits/lures and an unknown lake
I know this sort of thing has been covered a BUNCH of times. If any of you all were to fish an unknown lake, without any electronic aid(fishfinder,GPS) and you had 4 rod/reel combos and only 1 choice of bait for each rod/reel,what baits would you all choose, and what color...AND why would you choose these particular baits?

Trolling motor battery selection
Yes, the TM is the main method of propulsion on my Jon Boat. The HP limit at the lake I fish is 8 HP so alot of people choose to use TM's only. You rarely ever see decked out Rangers ,Trackers or Skeeters out there,Sometimes those even get kicked off the water for having to large of a motor.

Trolling motor battery selection
They were all out of the group 27 Everstart at my local Wal Mart,so I went with a group 29 Everstart Maxx for $79. More than I wanted to spend, but its all that was available. It may be overkill, but its better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!!

Trolling motor battery selection
Can anyone help me choose a trolling motor battery for my 10" Jon Boat? I fish a 125 acre lake and have several batteries to choose from with different ratings and prices. What would a good all around battery be for this little boat on this lake. I dont want something that will leave me stranded out on the lake half way through the day,But im also not looking for a Cadillac of Batteries. Something in between that will last me from say 10 am until 7-8 pm,with the motor running off and on during the day. I plan on recharging every night when I return from the lake

creature baits
While I was waiting for an order of *** Baby Bush Bugs,I decided to spend the money and buy some Zoom Baby Brush Hogs. I fished them with a small weight and hook(1/0)T-Rigged weedless at the base of some flooded trees and got bit pretty good, with a small hopping, shaking retrieve.Alot of times they would hit the bait on the fall. I then used the ones I got from Brent@*** and mopped the water with those. No real huge fish, but there were some decent numbers.I caught the same size fish with the Brush Hog/*** style bait as I did with the Stick Baits(If that tells you anything) Im glad I tried em,I was stuck on Senko's(Guess it could be worse,I couldve been stuck on stupid) and Stick baits are all I would throw until I tried the brush hogs and brush bugs.

bottom composition for the spawn
Large boulders were mentioned,so does this include like RIP RAP and man made dams made out of boulders?

biggest swimbait EVER
SWIMBAIT is exactly what I thought when I saw the segmented movement of this shark when I watched the episode on TV. Glad im not the only one!!

Tsunami Prerigged Swimbaits
Anyone ever used them? I got an 8 pack of 4 inch baits in a lot of tackle I purchased online. Do these work well or do they fall into the same category as the Storm swimbaits? Should I keep em or pass em on? Attached is a pic of the bait next to a Baitcasting reel for size reference
