Can anyone tell me what the color "hitch" is supposed to be? I see thais color on alot of advertised swimbaits and cant figure out what the deal is.

I was always told Dropshotting was a finesse technique. And doesnt that mean making your offeing smaller?

Its a small Bass Assassin bait (similar to a fluke) Seems the tail has lots of action at the slightest touch,and package says it floats. Would this be a good size and type of bait for a dropshot?

I agree with everyone on the Storm baits. Ive been buying some assorted lots and been taking what I want,and putting the rest in a box to resell and perhaps recoup some of the money the baitmonkey has gotten me to spend. Maybe I can just donate the stuff as well...yeah,that sounds better

Just recieved one that I bought on Ebay New. Its the 9 inch version. This thing is HUGE. Anyone ever fish this big ol thing? What kind of retrieve is recommended and how successful were any of you users? Pics of your success?

i tried it,worked well until mid cast a gust of wind blew my bait into a real tall tree. Thus the tree got to keep the bait :'(

Just purchased 4 on Ebay. The seller states they are new(which they are),no package and doesnt know the Rate of fall. I have a few questions concerning this bait. 1.) I have submitted a picture. Can anyone tell me if these are actually Huddleston Shad baits,or a knock off? Color is supposed to be Blue Shad. Looks like the real thing to me,compared to the Huddleston Website. 2.) How do I determine the Rate of fall. Theres nothing on the tail denoting anything. I dropped one into my 55 Gallon fish tank and it dropped like a rock. 3.) Anyone ever used these Shad baits,whats the best method of retrieve,and lastly how much success did anyone have on these?

I was wanting to try out throwing some Hudds

I would like to get started throwing some swimbaits. I know I need to "up" the size and strength of the rods and reels I use. Whats a good ,decent priced,setup to use? I currently already have a MH 6'6" Quantum Torsion Casting rod,would that suffice? I would like to get an Abu Garcia Baitcasting reel,but need to know which model number would best suite the swimbait fishing,AND regular casting and worming,jigging and frogging. I dont want to buy one and have it be too large for the application,but I dont want it to be wimpy,in case I hook into a nice fish.I need something for all around reliability,and durability Any suggestion or ideas??

Ive had blowups on just a buzzbait,with no skirt before and was told that the skirt just gives the fish a target(larger profile) ...Sound right?

My one and only Cavitron Buzzbait sat out in the elements and the skirt dried out and fell off. I dont have any other skirts at the moment so I wanted to see if putting a tube on would work. I see it possibly falling down the shank of the hook. What if I were to use a plastic wire tie as a way to "crimp" it on? If I can get the tube to stay on,is there any reason this wouldnt work?

I just purchased a "lot"(20 bags,8 tubes in each bag) of Luck E Strike 3" Enforcer tubes on Ebay.Couldnt pass it up. Only cost me $1.80 (plus shipping of $5.80) Whats the best way to rig these. Are there jig heads made specifically for this smaller bait?

The lake I normally fish doesnt have Crappie in it.I recently purchased a "LOT" of lures in it which includes a MATTLURES Crappie Swimbait. Being thet there arent Crappie in the lake I fish,would this bait still be productive?

I recently purchased a swimbait on Ebay and was wondering if anyone knew anything about it. Ive searched around and cant seem to come up with any info. The bait in question is a JERRY RAGO REAL TROUT SWIMAIT BY CASTAIC. According to the seller its 8.5 inches long and weighs 6 ounces. Its a slow sink model. How exactly will this bait work? Its not jointed(as shown in the pic) so is it just a boot tail design? What does something like this usually retail for in stores?

This has been covered over and over. I agree ,We REALLY dont know what fish can and cant see,What they see a bait as and such. I think the studies have shown that the Invisible Red line theory is due to the line being TRANSLUCENT(partially see though). The light can pass through. The Red Bait thing is because the baits and hooks are solid. The light reflects(bounces off) and attracts the fish in studies.

Id like to add my 2 cents to this thread as well. I got my Cavitron by a request on the Sept 11 Giveaway. Went to my "Practice" Pond today and decided to just give a few casts ,just to see what everyone was talking about. I wasnt expecting to catch ANYTHING. The wind was blowing,Algae all over the surface, It was an Ugly day,but I said what the heck. On about the 4th cast I was steadily retrieving the Cavitron,Crawled it over a mat of Algae and just as it reached the edge,WHAM!! A LMB came out of nowhere and snatched the bait up. The fish was only about 4 feet from the bank and caught me totally unexpectedly. I probably couldve seen it sitting there if I had been wearing my sunglasses. Wasnt anything of great size,maybe 14 inches. I was impressed. I moved to another spot and 2 casts later I saw my line snap and creep through the eyelets. I made a hasty retreat to some dry land behind me,Emptied my pockets and waded in to the water to retrieve my ine before it sank,Thus Saving my Cavitron. Needless to say,I was now wet up to my waist. This was the conclusion of my fishing day. Overall I was satisfied and very Impressed. Cavitrons work,I cant wait to try it on the big lake I fish.

Was on the BPS Website,reading some testimonials about baits. Heres one that made me chuckle "This frog is the bomb. I catch many fish on this scum frog. The hooks get dull rather quickly so I lost a 22 pounder which made me mad. But overall i have caught a couple 10+ pound smallmouth" How in the world did this guy know it was a 22lb fish he lost,if in fact..He lost it. I think the fish may not be the only thing this guy has lost!! A couple 10+ Pound Smallmouth???

I purchased a few when I was in Vegas. On two diffeent outings Ive tried em. Theres one spot in particular that I cast to. Its between 2 trees against the bank,lots of matted milfoil. EVERYTIME I cast there I get a huge explosion,but my bait always ends up popping to the surface.Im thinking im casting into a spot where a frog lives. I am waiting for the tension on the line but it never comes,I dont want to set the hook without feeling the tension and have the thing come rocketing back at my face. So whats the best way of fishing this thing,what kind of action? Walk the dog,Short hops,do I fish it fast or slow? Whats been productive for everyone?
