Differences in Jigs
Whats the difference between a Swim Jig and an ordinary jig,and how does the retrieve method differ. Where are these meant to be fished? Any other info would be greatly appreciated

Man made structure/cover
Now the whole sunken tree thing does sound better to me. When a lake floods, the trees cant pick up and move and can get submerged,so the tree thing is more natural to me. The reason I was wondering about the tire thing is,other than fishing,I work on older cars as a hobby. I mount and dismount tires(saves money) Figure the cost of gas to drive to the tire shop, the cost of dismounting/mounting and then the additional cost of them disposing of the old tires,it all adds up.So even though its a little labor intensive to do it by hand(read: NO AIR TOOLS),it really does save some cash. Ive done some tires recently and have them laying around, thats the reason I asked about sinking them. If everything was going to be legit and positive,it WOULD be a WIN-WIN. I get to dispose of the tires, and the fish and other critters get a habitat, and In a few years it may flourish into a decent fishing hole. I continue to welcome your thoughts and opinions. With that said Im going to call the Fish and Game here and see what they say.I wont do anything of the sort until I get the okay from Game Management.

The boat"just" fits
Ive been working out details of how I can use some PVC pipe attached to the ceiling to hold my rod/reel setups. Its already got a homemade shelving built in for the tackle and such. I like this better than my Ford Truck. Iused to have to strap the boat down, and it had a 2 foor overhang off the tailgate. Now when I launch the boat,I really dont have to even get out of the vehicle. Ill open the doors just before going onto the ramp, back down, put the van in gear(E-brake dont work) and give the boat a little shove. Loading "should" be easier too,My Truck is a 4X4 which makes for a big lift on the boat after being out on the water all day.The van doesnt sit nearly as high.

The boat"just" fits
I recently acquired a 1980 Ford Cargo van(when I say Acquired,I mean it was given to me.literally) Anyway,I was kicking around the idea of putting my 10'jon boat inside. Well it was a total success. I did have to beat one of the metal panels on the rear door in for clearance.Other than that its a tight fit so tight that...Well just look at the pics!!

Man made structure/cover
Ive seen where people take Christmas trees after the Holidays, put cinder blocks on them and sink them to create cover/structure. This being said, what does everyone think about sinking old Automobile tires? Would this be considered littering the water because its not something that could occur naturally like submerged/sunken trees? I want to consult everyone and get opinions on the sunken tire idea BEFORE I go and do it and then be frowned upon. If your going to frown upon the idea, thats ok ,but understand I HAVE NOT done this yet(and might not depending on the responses),and just wanted to get some ideas.

What can anyone tell me about Gambler Ugly Otter Baits?
Anyone ever "doctor" the bait and split the appendages? Does this make the bait more appealing to fish,or does it not make a difference?

Anyone know what this is called and who makes it?
Not really trying to stump anyone. I have been buying "Lots" of assorted plastics on Ebay, most of them from ESTATE sales listing. Most are in sealed new packaged baits, but some have been put into ziplocs. The one pictured above was in a Riverside Baits bag and the label said it was a Finesse worm in Red Shad color. Well judging from the color and the bait itself,we know that isnt true. Figured maybe someone had used these before,or something very similar. There are areas of the country where baits are only sold locally by a local angler at small bait shops, and the rest of the country never sees the baits. Could this maybe be the occasion I like the bait pictured, because its very similar to a Zoom Baby Brush Hog,a bait which I just started using last year with lots of success, even though the fish were pretty small.

Mattlures MattShad Swimbaits
Anyone had a chance to fish these? Any luck with them. Awhile ago A guy named "Lightninrod" used to show off the catches he made using a Mattlures Baby Bass series baits. Seeing things like that made me decide to bid (and win) these Mattshad Baits on Ebay. Do these have the same characteristics as the regular Bluegill series baits in that they "nose down" on the bottom when resting? How is the swimming action on these? The particular ones I bought...What size are these. Size wasnt specified in the auction.
