  1. I too give good information,I hate a bad day on the water like the next guy.Alot of times they'll say something to the effect....yep,and if their not there go just around the bend and by the cluster of rocks 'bout 30 feet out and throw....I've even exchanged baits with some guys. Some guys are cool that way,I appreciate it.
  2. Had a spool this year that was bad, line looked fat then skinny at 3-5 foot intervals, thought my eyes were going bonkers and had the bud I was fishing with look at it,saw the same thing. Was felt to the touch on closer inspection.Returned it and got a new spool.Never seen that before and have been using XL for years.
  3. Nice CATch!
  4. WaHooo!that 1 keeper is definitely acceptable,nice fish.
  5. Nice fish Connor! Sometimes a little change of pace will help with time.I would put a Rapala cd3 on the line and troll back and forth across pond. Those guys would catch a bunch of sunfish, calico bass and perch from one end to the other! Was great for them.
  6. I've used those hooks with good results, the green coating will wear off with some use but they stay sharp. Those and Gammie finesse wide gap have a thicker gauge.
  7. I've had some good results with a Zoom 6" black lizard,fished slowly,weightless or carolina rigged.G/L
  8. "-nothing to do but just shake my head and smile." Sure is a great feeling though!Nice fishing you guys 8-).
  9. Water is cooling down rather quickly(N.E.),2-4 degrees per week(surface temps).Same baits are still producing, will add that a 5 in. lizards on dropshots are getting wet too.A friend also hooked a beauty on the same set up with a wooly-beaver-brush-hawg creature thingy(forgot name) :.Will ask again,he carries 90 gazillion baits with him! Do listen to these other guys, they have lots more experience than I about smallies.I'm going to have to bite the bullet myself on a couple of those Lucky Crafts.
  10. October is a bit up the road and water temps will be different.Whats working now might not be when October rolls around, you know this already I'm sure. Whats working for us now in 5-20 ft. of water, nose hooked 3-4 inch senko type baits, spider jigs w/hula grubs, dropshots,DT 10s,1/4 oz. shakey heads, hopefully one of those puppies will work,G/L.
  11. Welcome Shawn,fantastic site! 8-)
  12. Sorry bout that, thought he meant on the nose.(more coffee before typing)
  13. Couple of other options to try, oval split rings will keep your knot off the joint on regular split rings or Normans' speed clips.
  14. Gr8 Fish!2 hands worth,Awesome!
  15. Not sure if its the best but, real pleased with Cabelas' package on the Eagle 480(black/white),no GPS or waypoints.
  16. Nice 1st Bass! As far as getting the l'il guys to hang on,what I do is show them the fishes mouth in detail, let them feel it for themselves, show them exactly where to put their fingers, how to push with their thumb to open mouth and place fingers around bottom lip(one motion). It usually doesn't take but a couple of outings for them to catch on.They stick with the smaller ones first and leave the bigger ones for you(hehe)but, they get it fairly quickly. Now pickeral, with their huge, enormous mouths and gigantic teeth for eating young boys......well thats different!
  17. Beauties!Great fishing!
