  1. got 2 packs of the 5" stickbaits from bass pro shops last week or so and fished them the other day in a lake with clear water and was hugely dissapointed > . these things have NO action . they just fall straight as a board !!! no wiggle or shimmy , no nothing was wondering if any of you guys/gals have the same experience with this bait . i am considering throwing these in the trash ( the BPS is about an hour and a half away and i don't see going there anytime soon to exchange them) and going back to Strike Kings Ocho's , they are the best stickbaits , on par with Senkos i have found . i thought the slurpies stick bait would work but obviously not :-/
  2. also Sunline Sniper and Toray Super Hard Premium Plus and Toray Upgrade . in my opinion , i think the trilene 100% is junk , tried 10 lb. test and had too many break offs , was going thru stuff and just tossed it in the trash !!! i have been using Toray super hard premium plus and i have got to say i love the stuff , manageable and very strong !!
  3. I've got different ones, BPS Kermy Frog, Zman Elite Series Hard Leg Frogz, Zman Frogz(elaztech body with skirted legs), Canyon Plastics 3.5" frog, and Big Bite Baits Fighting Frogs. use those with a pegged weight , fish it just off the bottom , you will like the results When you say "fish it just off the bottom" do you mean a slow steady retrieve, like swimming it close to the bottom? exactly !!!! i have caught many bass doing it that way , besides a red eye shad , a frog rigged and fished this way is my best night fishing baits and they are VERY productive in the daytime , actually , ANYTIME !!! ;D
  4. I've got different ones, BPS Kermy Frog, Zman Elite Series Hard Leg Frogz, Zman Frogz(elaztech body with skirted legs), Canyon Plastics 3.5" frog, and Big Bite Baits Fighting Frogs. use those with a pegged weight , fish it just off the bottom , you will like the results
  5. use buzz frogs , i use Canyon Plastic frogs , i let them sink a little then use a slow retrieve . some times i peg a 3/8 oz. weight to the nose of it then speed up the retrieve a little . this method works very good at night !!!!
  6. If you go to; www.fishingtackleoutlet.net and look at the 99 cent plastics and the bulk senko's for $6.99 for 50, having just $50 to spend can go farther than we think. Go for the real deals...... Frugal Bigbill are those real senkos ??? for that price for 50 is ridiculously low !!!!! so if they are real senkos , thanks for the link !!!!!! those blue/black colored 5" senkos are killers
  7. rod - a custom built St.Croix legend tour. musky blank , the Big Dawg 8'6" xh blank w/micro guides reel - Abu Garcia Revo Toro Winch 51 line - Gamma co-poly 25 lb.and 30 lb. 8-)
  8. this frog is a must have , i want to get at least 3
  9. bought mine over a year ago , jsut as good as the day i bought it
  10. thanks !! good to know , keep us posted on any updates to wether it will be sooner or if it is a definite for sure thing . been wanting to get a couple of things from there but i live in San Diego , Ca . , kinda hard to do ;D
  11. owner hooks are by far the best hooks , with the cutting points , no one comes close ....
  12. if i were you i would have one made , talk to your local rod builders in your area or give Mike at Delaware Valley Tackle a call
  13. i have never been interested in a quantum reel till i seen that one , maybe one of these days
  14. tooo bad you don't have an 09' SX in the mix , that reel will out cast them both no problem !!!
  15. my opinion is to buy a Revo Premier , same or slightly lighter reel with all the line capacity you need , plus it is not fugly green !!! ;D 8-) plus the new Premiers are gonna have a 7.1 gearing !!!
  16. sorry but i don't use shimano reels , i only use Revo's !!!! the new premier is a sweet reel , will do everything you want it to do plus they are built like tanks !! i have thrown my friends and i must say that is the reel i will get next (besides the Toro Winch !!) abu did wonders to that reel (the 2010 premier) , the older model does not hold a candle to it !!!
  17. i use a Carrot stix 7'XH fast action for worms ,jigs , senko's and other plastics and love this rod !! super light and sensitive , BPS has them on clearence for $110.00 , a VERY good rod for those techniques
  18. been killing them with a strike king red eye shad lipless crankbait !!!!
  19. is it built off of a Mudhole blank ?????
  20. I'd get the STX and I'd put $ up that the STX will outlast any PQ you can find. Dont get me wrong, I fished PQ's for years and they are good reels but the Revo STX is on another level. exactly !!!!
  21. you will very lucky if the one you got swims straight !!! they are cheap imitations of Hudds . and they only weigh 4-5 oz. not a pound : soon you will learn what is good and what is bad in picking baits . the bass harasser is not a good one . put it this way , you will never see a Hudd on clearance !!!!!
  22. for referring to plastic worms , Robo worms is the best , hands down !!! the best dropshot , shakey head , texas rigged worms on the market
  23. for me the best scent made is Pro-cure super gel . this is a must have scent when throwing swimbaits and using soft plastics , period !!!! http://www.***.com/Pro_Cure_Super_Gel/descpage-PCSG.html
  24. space monkey with either a 1/4 or 1/2 oz. bullet weight pegged ( i actually use srew in bullet weights )
