  1. supposedly WD-40 is made or WAS made with anchovy oil !! as far as "scents" go , i use Pro Cure super gel , more of a lubricant than anything , they are a staple in swimbaiting using Huddlestons and similar baits ......
  2. forget the zillion , get a Dobyns 795MLSB , that will handle alot of different baits up to 5 oz. , if you get it , you can thank me later ;D
  3. 8 lb. flouro ain't that strong on hook sets !!! if i were you i would go up to atleast 12 or 15 lb. flouro . that vicsous is pretty hit or miss it seems to me , some times it is really dependable and sometimes it is garbage .....
  4. reaction strike makes cabelas rods . reaction strike makes crappy baits but there rods are very good .....
  5. X2 !!! , a 14" bass will weigh a pound and a half at most , good try though :
  6. I think the flame/paper clip method would be even easier, cheaper and less messy than mend-it Mend it works well in some situations and I keep it on hand as well, but rarely use it where soft texture and flexibility is an issue.Big O www.ragetail.com mend-it does not leave your bait brittle but just as soft as the plastic you are mending . you must be confused with Pro's soft bait glue (overpriced super glue !!!!)
  7. to me , i choose a reel seat for comfort ; for the way i palm my reels . with that said , the reel seat i think is perfect for me is the Fuji ACS in the 17 size ..
  8. go with the Cumara 7'2" med. extra fast
  9. i checked out the skeet rods at my local tackle store today , i don't care for the feel of them , like everybody says , they feel whippy . also the handles are very short on them .
  10. i voted for all the above . flouro for crankbaits and bottom presentations , braid for frogs and topwater , mono/co-poly for swimbaits .
  11. i use Norman speed clips in the magnum size for jointed swimbaits , work very well !!!
  12. try some Triple Fish flourocarbon - http://www.***.com/Triple_Fish_Fluorocarbon_Line_200yd/descpage-TFFL.html
  13. yeah that was directed at you !!! ;D
  14. for an inexpensive spinning rod , check out the shimano clarus line of rods . i have a 6'6" light powered , fast action rod i use for a multitude of things including dropshotting and weightless plastics and other finesse stuff . the rod has plenty backbone and is under a lifetime warranty and runs about 60-70 bucks !!
  15. whatever hand you work the rod with , you crank with the other hand . i work the rod with my right hand so i use only left hand retrieve reels . it doesn't matter which hand is stronger or if your right or left handed :
  16. definitely a Revo S over a citica e !!! no question about it
  17. i like to throw them over emerging grass weightless , they have alot of action when twitched fast on a steady retrieve !!!
  18. i have a 7' XH fast action rod that i really like , has alot of backbone and is super light !! use it alot for deep diving crankbaits , frogs , texas- rigged plastics , and big spinnerbaits .
  19. it is like a limper P-line CXX !!! much easier to handle as far as manageability and memory , if youn throw big swimbaits , it is the best performing line out there !!!!
  20. by the way , if you are looking for the smoothest and quietest braid , it's not diawa samurai , it is Triple Fish Bully braid , ask some people that know
  21. the quietest and smoothest doesn't equate to the "best" .........
  22. for a 2500 size spinning reel i would not go over 8 lb. test . a good line for spinning reels and is very strong is P-line CXX . i use 6 lb. CXX on my spinning set up and love it .
  23. then why change if you do good on that line !
  24. the best scent/lube is Pro Cure super gel !!! it is the best for swimbaits and works great on crankbaits , worms , jigs , etc.. the scent is made from real bait and stays good on your lure very good http://www.pro-cure.com/gel.html
