  1. Been a fan since Season 1. "Hot Dog fingers is not a disease" Long live Dwight....and Mose!!!
  2. Never be embarassed by what you have---with that said... The only issue you may have is that a lot of tournies and clubs have length and horsepower requirements for safety reasons so you may want to check if the tourney you're entering as such requirements. Remember---the boat does not make a fisherman. I have caught some of my biggest fish out of a float tube!!
  3. Good question---I've been looking at these too!! Those that have used them, do you like them better than the cloth ones that are normally used??
  4. 2004 Stratos 285XL 2004 Yamaha VMAX 150 (Carb) Minn Kota Lowrance Electronics 55-60 fully loaded (GPS)
  5. John Madden IS football---'nuff said!!!
  6. Always been a HUGE fan of Al Linder and Larry Dahlberg. Do you Canadians remember who hosted the show Casting Out??
  7. This is a good point. I had a co-angler with me once, and every 20 casts he'd tie on a new lure. By the end of the day, he went through everything in his tackle bag....and didn't catch a fish. The funny thing was, I caught all of my fish on the same spinnerbait. I never even switched rods the whole day!!!
  8. I saw a commercial with Boyd and Ike for them and it got me thinking. They use the cat chasing the light as their analogy of why the bass chases the lure. My theory is, the cat chases the light on the floor, and never looks or notices the source of the laser. If this lure is moving and the light is striking the bottom, won't the bass chase the dot of light and never find the source (the crankbait)?? Just a theory---let the slamming begin!!
  9. Give the boater gas money. Respect the boat and clean your trash out at the end of the day. Respect his fishing area and "personal space". Most of all---have fun!!! You can be competitive and still have a good time!!
  10. I liked them too---get 'em while you can, I think they're going out of business.
  11. A can of Full Throttle in the morning and Gatorade and Water during the rest of the day. I don't like to eat out in the boat for fear I may have to make a mad dash for shore---if you know what I mean....and I think you do!!!! If I ate White Castle in the boat I would be in BIG trouble. I only eat those in close proximity to the bathroom
  12. You have to talk about his #1 hit on the Billboard chart 'Lil' Baby Cub'!!! Lil baby cub go nighty nighty---little baby cub go sleepy dreamy. He even had Hackney scratchin' his head about that one.
  13. Your Pyrex will be ok heating it with the hot plate---because the heat is added slowly by the hot plate, you won't have an issue. It will only shatter with extreme temp changes, like if you heated plastic then put it directly into the freezer. This is the same material that is used for casarole dishes that your momma used to have!!! As far as the faded look, like the other guys said, you probably need to add color. Expecially if your using melts from heavily salted baits, the salt will dull your color as well.
  14. I don't know if you're aware, but John Crews is doing the same sort of thing for $850. His is only one day, but people may see your price and shell out the extra $350 to go with the Elite Pro.
  15. I was thinking that same thing about the poll. I run a Stratos285 and if I bought a new boat today it would be the 201 Evolution, that is one SWEET boat!! TMorse----I'm jealous!!! :'(
  16. Wow Fish Chris---you met a real winner there!!! I bet he's one of those guys that catches only 5 pounders in tournaments too!!
  17. Beers are for AFTER fishing. There is nothing better than getting home from a fishing trip, having a BBQ and cracking some beers---let the fishing stories fly!!!!
  18. FLW uses the same idea, but not sure if the breakdown is the same.
  19. Go to Bassmaster.com---Elite Series--Rules---page seven of the rules has the points breakdown.
  20. I'm not sure if she fishes FLW bass events, I have seen that her and Andre fish the FLW Kingfish tour. My thoughts on tour loyalty---I don't think anything of it. Going between tours is just another way for the fisherman to make a living and I don't see anything wrong with it. As far as your thoughts on Kim Bain---Luke Clausen did the same thing. He won The Classic and has always been an FLW mainstay. He accepted the money and fame of winning The Classic, and didn't even fish the ELITES the following year. The "fame" that she received was also good promotion for BASS so I don't feel like she owes them anything or that BASS would feel short-changed.
  21. When all else fails---I pull out the ol' 7" Black Ribbon Tail worm.
  22. Etommy28, I should have said don't rely on the boaters for anything---meaning food, life jacket, rain gear, tackle, drink, etc. Not that they may not offer you these things, but boaters also forget stuff back at the truck!! I speak from experience!!!
  23. I should have stated that better--and again this is in the BFL's and Weekend Series where the boater has total control of the boat: Don't try to persuade them to fish the way you want them to. I was thinking it was a moot point to ask them what and how they like to fish because you would have to do whatever they are doing anyway.
  24. Tell the boater you need to go so that they don't toss you out of the boat by accident---then let her rip!!
  25. I am a boater and I agree with most of what 'etommy28' says with the exception of a couple things. 1. Don't expect your boater to give you anything. It is YOUR responsibility to have everything you need. And DO NOT forget your life jacket. A boater will not always have an extra. 2. Don't ask your boater what they like. If you fish BFL or Weekend Series, the boater has full control of the boat. You will have to suit your fishing into what the boater is doing. A couple additional things to consider: 1. Don't back the boat in or operate the boat if you don't know what you're doing. 2. Discuss netting fish (if legal in your tourney). Some boaters don't like the co to net fish. Again, if you don't feel comfortable netting the boaters fish---DONT DO IT!! If you cost them a fish, they will not be happy. 3. If your fishing tight to cover or boat docks and you aren't accurate---don't use the tourney as casting practice. You can really tick off a boater if he has to constantly go into the cover to retrieve your lures. 4. Always be ready to move---don't have tackle laying all over the boat. When they're ready, you should be too. 5. Keep their boat clean and take your garbage out after the day is over. I hate having to clean bottles and wrappers that aren't mine!! 6. It was said but ALWAYS offer to pay for gas. Let the boater decide if they want to take it from you.
