Chatterbaits And Trailers
I use it and fish it the same places and same way I use a spinnerbait. And just like the s-bait, you'll have to vary the retrieve until you find what they want. You can fish it all the ways you stated----slow, twitch it, pump it, hop it like a jig etc. The only thing I've found is that they don't go through weeds as good as a s-bait. Your trailer options are endless...I like to put the small sized speed craw on mine. Like the others said, flukes, grubs are good too.

Maps- What To Look For
I use Iaconnelli's map reading process. Look for areas you think they would spawn in. These would be areas to hit in the spring and in the fall. Then move out from there and find the drops and points near those areas. These would be your summer and winter locales. This is his process in a very basic nutshell, but it works well for me. His presentation of this may be on youtube.

Docks
Senko, weightless finesse worm or weightless fluke usually do the trick for me.

Idea For A Different Craw Bait
When you rig your a craw trailer on a jig....rig it so the body goes around the first bend of hook. Hard to explain, but try it and you'll see what I mean. This will make the pincers stand up too. This is a trick I saw from Al Linder on In-fisherman decades ago...I still do it and it still works!!!

Please Someone Tell Me To Stop Lol
I meant---get proficient in the lures you have, then you should worry about expanding your collection. It was just a sarcastic remark.

Please Someone Tell Me To Stop Lol
I don't think you can have too much tackle...but in your case, I would stop buying lures for a while. You stated you're not proficient in anything yet. I would stop worrying about buying lures and start learning how to use the ones you have. You can have a million lures and if you don't know how to use them they're useless. Get out there and use the ones you have, learn when and how to use them. You have a great start in your arsenal.....learn how to use those and then start buying out Bass Pro!!

Gotta Love This "game"
Last month I posted a thread because I zeroed in a tournament. It was the first time in a long time I have zeroed. Fast foward to now....I won this weekend's club tourney (the tourney following my bomb)...and beat second place by 5 pounds!!! It's amazing the ups and downs of this sport...why do we put ourselves through this!!!

Go Mr.clunn!!!
Rick Clunn in the top 10.....I LOVE it!!! Seeing him in the top 10 makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. He is one my angling heroes and it's great to see him up on the leader board. KVD 48th....very interesting tourney so far.

Belly Boat Fishing
I used to fish in a tube back when I was young and somewhat in shape. The kick back is always horrible!!!!

What Lure Are You Going To Teach Yourself To Fish This Year?
Not sure what size head you were using, but maybe they wanted a lighter jig. I'm thinking they may have liked the slow fall of the senko as opposed to the drop of the shakeyhead. In all types of jig fishing, rate of fall is big consideration.

What Lure Are You Going To Teach Yourself To Fish This Year?
I am going to keep trying the A-rig. I've had some success and seen first hand success by others, but I'm not completely confident in it just yet.

What's The Most Bizarre Thing That's Ever Happened To You While Fishing?
I had a Red Tailed Hawk come out of tree and devour a squirrel. I was beating the bank and he was about 20 feet away....scared the crap out of me!! I've never heard anything quite like that poor squirrel screaming and trying to fight off that hawk!! Not bizarre, but the first time I saw a bald eagle come out of the tree tops and fly over my head..........it was mind-blowing!!

Haw River Tackle
I haven't used them, but I checked out their website. Can you elaborate on why they are so amazing.......Do they have colors you can't normally find, is their customer service oustanding?? Unless I missed something they seem like your typical softplastic baits and jigging spoons.

Carrot Stick Issues
I know when they first came out there were issues. I think they should have them resolved by now. Like the others said...use it, if it breaks...take it back. Like the other post said...most rods break because of something we do to them. Take care of it and there shouldn't be an issue.

2 Plastic Worm Questions
1. To me, using a split shot is a finesse c-rig. Same principle as the c-rig, but you would normally use a small bait along with the split shot. 2. I don't know if I understand your question about the "main factor" in the c-rig. But for the me, the main factor in the presentation is the leader length. You stated you use a 7 inch leader...I never go under 18 inches. I usually start out with a 3 to 4 foot leader and go down from there. I will shorten it if I'm trying to drag the rig through a lot of cover because you have more control with the short leader. I always use a "traditional" c-rig...I don't peg my sinker up the line. I like the "tick" sound you get by having the bead-sinker-swivel combination. As far as material of the sinker, I use tungsten. I used to use the brass weights, but I like the smaller size and the sensitivity of the tungsten. I haven't noticed much of a difference in success with the tungsten, it's just a preference thing.

Best Way To Paint Multiple Colors On A Jig Head
You are using the word "dab"...I just want to be clear and Cadman said it too. You don't want to touch the brush to the head when using the other colors. Dip the brush into the powder and hold it over the head and lightly tap the brush. This will make the powder fall onto the head. It takes some practice and experimenting to find the right brush too.

Random Thoughts While Shaving #2
I like when the pros say "now I can go out and swing for the fence." So otherwise they would have gone out and only fished for keepers, not the big fish!

Fishing Show Host Jose Wejebe Killed In Plane Crash
I was going to post this as well. I always watched his show...he seemed like a great guy and his passion for fishing always came through. RIP Jose, fish on!

Try It For Yourself...
This is exactly what I was trying to say with my post!! I wish I could have said it the way you did!!!

Try It For Yourself...
I realize we are here to give and to get advice. I also realize that after posting this, I probably won't get any answers to my questions, but here goes.... A lot of the questions I see I think to myself, just try it for yourself. Like what do I use here or what do I put on this etc. Again, I understand we are trying to lessen the learning curve here by offering advice, but I think the fun part of fishing is to try things out on your own and I think more folks should do just that. Just go out and experiment.....you want to build lures, buy some stuff and try to make them. I'm sure I've cut my head off by posting this but....try it out for yourself!! If you get stuck after trying, then ask questions. The fun is in the journey, not getting quick answers.

Jimmy Houston Comment...
I seldom watch Jimmy Houston because he annoys me, but I was flipping around the channels Saturday and saw him and his guest fishing the Yumbrella rig...so I watched for a bit. Then his guest got the rig hung up and Jimmy said to him that he got his $40 lure hung up and started joking about how people will start going in after them. I thought it was funny that he's trying to promote this lure and comes right out and says something like that. I'm sure that comment turned off some newbies that don't know much about the rig. Maybe I'm the only one....but I thought that was kinda funny!!!

Same Spinnerbaits - Different Styles
Nice Baits. I use the Mag Willow blades a lot on my baits. I love the vibration they put out.
