  1. Those look great! Can't wait to see them in person! Nice job.
  2. There may be more info on what you are looking for on tackleunderground. They have a section dedicated to hard baits. You may check them out also.
  3. My favorite motoroil is from BearsBaits. I have LC and M-F, and hands down, his is the best IMO. www.bearsbaits.com

Fat G, You can ruse worms, but a word of caution. One thing that will ruin a batch of plastic is moisture. When you are using old torn up baits, they are almost certain to hae somemoisture in them, especially senkos. The salt in the store bought baits will soak up moisture like a sponge. If there is moisture in the baits that you are trying to remelt, it will foam and bubble when it gets to the boiling point of the water. The plastic will have to get to around 320-350 to be able to pour. My suggestion is to start with new plastic and salt. The molds you have selected will make a good bait regardless of which plastic you use. But if the plastic is foaming and bubbling, then your bait will have bbls in it too. With new plastic I think you would be ahead of the game. with one gallon of plastic you can get over 400 5" stick baits. The place that, IMO, has the best plastic and the best salt is www.bearsbaits.com His salt is has the finest grains on the market. That equates to it suspends a whole lot better. Table salt will sink like a rock and not give you a consistent bait. Sorry for the long post but I hope that helps. You can PM me or look at bears forum or www.tackleunderground.com for more info. Good luck! And by the way, there is no feeling in the world like whackin a hog on your own stuff!
  5. The best thing I can tell you is not to do it inside unless you can contain the fumes and get them vented quick! Remelts of store bought baits is an iffy proposition. I know that people do it, but i believe it is best to start with virign plastic. You can get about 400 senkos from a gallon of plastic. www.bearsbaits.com www.tackleunderground.com Those are a couple of places that have a ton of info for pouring soft plastics. The forum sections are where some answers to your questions will be.
  6. It is an injection mold. It comes in either 1 cavity or 4 cavities. I prefer the one cavity because I think you can do more things with it. And yes it does have great action in the water.
  7. War Eagle get my vote.
  8. this little bait kicks butt! It is a good jig trailer, texas rig and even like a swimming frog. It accounted for a couple of key keepers at my last tourny on Wheeler. I think sometime soon it may be offered in different sizes too. Check it out.
  9. Another one that is nice to see in there is Mark Menendez. He is a great angler and nice to see him getting some just dues.
  10. There are quite a few places to get materials. www.lurecraft.com www.bearsbaits.com Those are the 2 that I use the most. Bearsbaits is a great place to get stuff from. They have good service and a forum for your questions. Tackleunderground is also a great site to learn and ask questions. Good luck.
  11. X2. I have been pulling for him for years. Great to see him make the cut. Those other guys need to pay attention, He'll sneak up and ****** it!
  12. Summit lake State Park. Great camp sotes and 600 acres of idle fishing water. no jet shkiis, or pleasure boaters!

Ok. I have a 2 part question. 1. Does the polarization wear out over time? The reason i ask is because when you get a pair of new fishing glasses, you look around at the cars and the windows turn all kinds of nice colors. My glasses are a few years old, like 5 to 6 yrs. I don't see the color change in car windows anymore. The on the water performance seems fine. 2. What is the best brand that has the greatest amount of light blockage? I don't want to go so far as to have a vacume seal around my face, but want as much glare reduced as possible. Thanks in advance.
  14. I use the hook keepers made out of shrink tube. Get some of the 1/8" size. I also use the big mother flippin hook in a 3/0 size. Cut the tube about 3/4" straight. Then cut it again at a 45 deg. angle in the middle. slide this on the hook with the pointed end sticking towards the hookeye and away from the hook point. Keep the tip of the pointed end just behind the bottom of the line tie. heat it up and there ya go. Do this in advance so while you are fishing, you don't have to mess with it. Hope that helps.
  15. Great ideas. If you do make molds of them, make more than one cause you will want to make a lot of the ones that work. WElcome to the "sickness". LOL
  16. Thanks RW. Was hoping for more in the Dectur area. Probably gonna fish in the flats area mainly. Thanks again.
  17. Hey guys. I have a trip planned to wheeler coming up soon. Does anyone know a good place to stay for a week down there? Have never been to the area and need a little help. I have searched the googlemaps and such, but want to stay out of any bad areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Zbass
  18. I might be ijnclied to "stich" a 10-12" worm very slowly. Other than that, TNT. just kidding.
  19. I think thee 2 guys are dead on. Depending on what plastic you are using, soft medium hard, it takes a little different amount of heating time. The harder compounds take a little longer than the softer stuff. Like the previous posts say, mix well and make sure you get it hot enough. Good luck

Thanks guys! The real beauty is the injector. Gonna work on some core shots tonight.
  21. Some coplors bleed more than others. Reds, purples and even browns tend to bleed the most. It is the dye that is used to color the plastic that is the culprit. I try to keep the same colors together. I don't put anything in with white or pearl baits other that white or pearl. There is no way around it except to pour your own and use all non-bleed colors. Hope that helped.
  22. Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a new injector out there and it is great! I spent the day with the injector and some of the molds that are from bearsbaits. Together these products offer a high production system. It is best used with a presto pot or larger pyrex. The reason I say that is because you are going to be going thru the plastic with this system. Here is a link to the some of the baits I shot with the injector and the molds. http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/zbasser/colors/5-21-09011.jpg This pic is of a 7.5" worm, 5.5" lizard and a 5.5" busw bear. The bush bear is an awesome looking bait. Kinda like the brush hog from Zoom but IMO a better bait. All these baits are full round and can't wait to get them in the water. http://i614.photobucket.com/albums/tt226/zbasser/colors/5-25-09002.jpg The molds that and injector that are part of this sytem are quality products. There have been some horror stories about injectors blowing apart or blowing back on the user. I don't forsee this happening with this product. It is very user friendly. The molds are hinged similar to the DO-IT brand of molds for lead. This makes for a really nice mold. I was concerned about them being single cavity. Now that I have used them it make perfect sense. These molds cool faster than any other mold I have. This allows you to demold the baits on average in under 1 minute. That is even when the mold is hot from multiple pours. I hope everyone will take the time to check these out. For the guy's that have webstores or sell to tackle stores, you owe it to yourself to check these out. It will save you time and money. here is a link to bearsbaits. www.bearsbaits.com __________________
  23. Yep, it is a very well designed pot. If you have the money I would suggest getting one with the stirring system. It can be used without it, but it is much more efficient with it. You can pour as little as 4oz or 1 gal of plastic with that pot at one time.
  24. Jigman is absolutely correct. The start up is a little salty. For an example you can get about 350-400 senko type baits in a gallon. It depends also on what your mixture is. 4 oz of plastic, 2 oz of salt, 1 oz of softner. For flukes you will not need that much salt. That is just an example. www.bearsbaits.com Check out that link for most of your supplies. He also has a forum where you can ask questions and get tips. www.tackleunderground.com is another forum that has a ton of info. I started out wanting to make senkos. 5 years later I can make anything from senkos, beavers, curl tail worms, finesse worms and brush hogs. You can also make your own molds to save some green. Good luck with your adventure. Z
  25. X2 Bull bream is another good one
