Wanting to get started with Pouring baits.
There are a few places to get supplies for plastics. Bearsbaits is where I get my supplies. He has a broad selection of things and has the customer service adn support forum as well. A couple other places is Lurecraft.com and MF manufacturing and Delmart.

Was able to get out to the man cave on Friday last week and played around some. The red craws will be seeing Guntersville! The next 2 are BigM balsa baits.

A first for me
Nice work! Especially for the first one. Are you using an airbrush? keep playing around and you'll have it down in no time.

Opinions wanted
Looks good to me! If you wanna see what it would look like use some plastic wrap. Put your gill on there and then lay it on the bait. Just a thought.

Oblong "O" rings for crankbaits.....
I have had some open on mme during install, and they get changed. I have not had every one do it to me though. Do the LC brand not have that problem at all? I like the black aspect of the XPS brand. I know the LC are grey in color. The ones at Jann's and Barlows are bright silver I think.

Oblong "O" rings for crankbaits.....
BPS has them. I use them on all my cranks and jerks. Great innovation!

E-Tex
I do minimum 2 coats and most often 3. It has a little learning curve to it. Let the etex sit for a minimum of 10 minutes after mixing. This will allow the bubbles to rise to the top and become clear. Exhale on any remaining bubbles and they will pop.

Do you know that Big M guy? He does make a nice bait. But............. Just kidding! Thanks a lot guys! The scales in the third pic I did by laying netting over netting. Spray one color with one layer and then the accent color through the second.

Plastics too soft after winter
Sounds like it just needs mixed really well. Try to get a paint stirrer or something down in there to get the hardner mixed in better. Some brands and compounds of plastic need more mixing than others. The outside temp should have little to do with it. I have poured in 35 degrees before and had no softness problem. Get it mixed good and you should be fine.
