  1. Welcome, and you might be surprised, there's apparently a lot of avid bass fishermen in New England. You're gonna love this sight, not just for the world of information, but for the folks here as well.
  2. Hey, Wagn, you catch those two 7-1s at the same place? That's funny, though, I also caught a 7-1 this year (and a 7-0 at the same place). Heckuva bass, bro!
  3. Yeah, Big O, what new colors? He's at it again...
  4. As far as colors go, I can't be without plenty of black neon and green pumkin/chartreuse. I use the black for low light or overcast conditions, and the green when it's bright. For smallies, white or the smokey shad seem to produce best for me, however I have a friend who uses them for smallies and swears by the plain old green pumpkin for everything, and won't even try another color, but he catches tons of fish, also.
  5. Man, I hear ya! That Monkey's been all over me. Today alone I bought an STX and a Fuego! Spring better hurry up.
  6. Yeah that came out wrong. I meant, at least it isn't going to be lost fishing time because it's winter.
  7. Yup, I'm going Sat.
  8. My favorite all time bait, and is responsible for my PB,as well. Use the right size hooks, and rig 'em up nice and centered and you will come to find this wobbly little sucker is pure dynamite! Man, I can't wait to be fishing my shads again in the spring!
  9. Really? That much of a difference even with the new ones, huh? Cool, I'm glad it's winter.
  10. Welcome. This place is awesome!
  11. Honestly, I can't wait until I have to have mine done by him. Only problem is, that all 3 of my Shimano reels, and both my Abus are new, so at the end of this coming season, he's getting them all!
  12. Looks nice. I wouldn't mind trying one out, for sure. Seems Shimano doesn't make anything that isn't good. How much are they?
  13. A couple areas I'm working to improve are: skipping baits reading and understanding my electronics bed fishing drop shot rig (never used it)
  14. That's a perfect combo. My next combo upgrade will be exactly that right there, except I may go with a Curado instead, haven't decided yet. I already have one of those rods and I love it!
  15. My two favorite colors are the watermelon and green pumpkin. This is a great pitching bait, or good on a Tx rig, or Carolina rig. Don't really know exactly what it's supposed to look like, but the bass don't seem to care! I got these closer to the end of this past summer, so this coming season I will be able to really use these more, along with my Eeliminators and Thumper worms! I do know that they are very durable, and have great action in the water, you won't be disappointed.
  16. Oops, sorry bout that, I need a spinning one. I'm guessing yours is the casting? You just helped me realize I had the wrong one on my list. Why don't they have a 7' M fast in a spinning rod? Whatever, I'll use a 6'10", and I'm sure you won't have a problem moving that rod at all. Oh, and to answer your question, check out the Vendettas.
  17. That Lowrider is the exact one on my BPS wish list right now, as the upgrade I want for my current Carolina rigging rod. I already have the reel for it and everything, now to just get the wife on board with me pulling the trigger, so if you want to sell it, please let me know.
  18. Very nice report. I want to be a client. I would love to fish the marsh someday.
  19. What an outing! That is cool. Nice pics, too.
  20. If you want strong, you have got to try P-Line CXX. This stuff is incredible! I use 8lb test, and I swear it's stronger than any 12lb mono I've ever used.
  21. For me, it was a Hula Popper. I was about 10 years old or so, and I hooked up with what was probably around a 5 pounder, and about lost my mind. To this day, I'm still addicted to topwater fishing. No more nightcrawlers after that!
  22. My favorite topwater lure, is a Rage Tail Shad, in black neon. I can throw it anywhere, including some nasty slop, and they flat out catch fish. This is actually my favorite bait, period. Also having caught my PB with one (gr.pumpkin/chartreuse) doesn't hurt either, but it's very exciting to fish with.
  23. Fishing-wise, I had a monumental year. I broke my PB 4 separate times this year, and ended up with a 7lb,10oz largemouth for my biggest. As far as techniques, '09 was the first year using a Carolina rig, with great success, as well as spent a lot of time working on my jig presentation, also definitely worth the effort. Great year, and looking forward to more good stuff in 2010.
  24. I Tx. rig the 10" one, and keel weight the 7" one. I've had my best luck in summer with it on a light keel weighted hook off the edges of dense pads, or worked into the holes.
