  1. That's alright, brother. Get 'em on a drop shot or C rig! They can't hide forever!
  2. Welcome, and you will love this place for the sheer mountain of info you will gain, and great folks you will meet. There's a bunch of us from NH here, so maybe we can hook up and fish sometime.
  3. Great pics! I always enjoy your fish and nature shots.
  4. You stick a soft plastic bait (usually a Trick Worm or similar bait), on a jig head, and fish it by working it into your target area, and stopping where you want it, and twitching your rod tip to give the bait a dancing in place effect. It's killer, and I found that lizards work pretty sweet for this as well.
  5. Rage Tail Craw.
  6. Don't feel bad, I got skunked today as well, except a micro pickerel. Just means we catch twice as many next time, right? RIGHT?
  7. Got a Nitro and a jon boat for small places.
  8. Thank you, Wayne!
  9. Wow! That's fantastic! I'm fishing Briary middle of May, and I'd love to catch some just like that! I'm really excited, too, because I've never fished a lake that is a known big bass lake like this before.
  10. There aren't any bass in the UK? You should probably move. By the way, welcome to the forum.
  11. Heck yeah! My state's record has held since 1967, and I'd want to be recognized as the guy that beat it. What I wouldn't want, is the location to be widely known. The small lake the current record was caught in, has been pummeled to death, and now you're lucky to pull a 3 lb bass outta there.
  12. That's great that you got to be part of that. Next month, I am volunteering as a boater in Washington, D.C. for the same thing. I am really looking forward to taking a wounded soldier out for a good day of fishing on the Potomac River. Great cause, and I wouldn't miss it for the world!
  13. Yeah, I love my Revo S and my STX. Awesome reels! Glad you guys got on a few today, good job.
  14. Just Thursday, I was fishing a place where pickerel were obviously overabundant, catching them one after another. I was fishing a jig, and pitching to standing timber. I pitched next to a tree, and caught a pickerel, and shook it off my jig, and pitched right back to the same tree, not 30 seconds after pulling in the pick, and landed the biggest bass I got that day. They do tend to end up in the same areas sometimes.
  15. This year so far, has been great. I have a lot more confidence this year on how to get them, and it's working. Not only that, but I have helped a buddy who doesn't really know what he's doing, to land some sweet smallies, and his PB largemouth. So far, my biggest is just over 5lbs (LM), but I'm just getting warmed up (literally).
  16. I thought that was pretty funny, Wagn, but one question. Do you always carry samurai swords and nunchucks in your boat? Party on, man, that's the spirit!
  17. Rage Toad = the best!
  18. NIIIICE!!! Where were ya?
  19. I hit Hoit Rd Marsh today in the stiff breeze, and had a good day. 5 bass, and over 10 pickerel (pain), but a few nice bass. Biggest of the day was 5lbs 3oz, plus 2 a little over 4lbs, and 2 around 2lbs. They were all holding around (not exactly tight to) standing timber. All bass were caught on a black/chartreuse jig with Rage Chunk in Summer Craw color.
  20. Jay, the 13th is a Thuresday, and unfortunately I cant make it that Friday. Too bad, cuz I wanna hook up with you all and do some Fishing! I'm sure you guys will have a blast.
  21. Sounds like you got it covered pretty good. I'm also prepping to tow a far distance to D.C. in a month, and am going through the same process myself. Good reminder thread now that everyone's got their trailers on the road, and on the move. Be safe and just get there and back all intact!
  22. Way to get on 'em!
  23. Welcome, fellow New Englandah!
  24. I also use the heavy wire Gammy 5/0, or a 6/0 owner twistlock. They're a lot easier to rig up correctly with the Twistlocks, and the baits last longer, too.
  25. Wow! What a day! I guess you did do something right. Nice fish!
