  1. No seeums are a big problem for me, I've tried every short of using buzz off clothing. You may be able to find this clothing cheaper. http://www.exofficio.com/product_results.aspx?page=LIST&free_text|1211385058736=buzz%20off%20clothing&cm_mmc=Google-_-Buzz%20Off-_-Buzz%20Off%20Variations-_-buzz%20off&gclid=CLmukYy0lJsCFQNbxwod3SojpQ I've have not seen a product that you can treat your own cloths.
  2. Not really, I'm fishing for peacocks.
  3. An exceptionally poor year so far, 1 snook around 20# and a tarpon maybe 40 or so, few 20 -25# cudas. Have no idea when I caught them or what I used, but I do remember each of their names.
  4. I don't watch those shows because they are boring and intellectually unstimulating, no offense but the purpose is only to separate you from your money. I only watch 2 and only if the timing is right, I don't sit home with bated breath to watch them. Jose Wejebe the "Spanish Fly" and Mark Sosin. Golf should never take more than 3:45 and that's walking and carrying your clubs.
  5. I'm a real big fan of anything D.O.A. ( mirrorlure saltwater works very well too) I've used their shrimp, paddle tail jerk baits, cal jerk shads, all with lots of freshwater success.
  6. I wear glasses and much of the time (night) I don't need sunglasses so I wear flip ups.......Cocoons are my choice.
  7. I'm a big Mark Sosin fan.......... Great meeting for ya.
  8. Popov is a step below rot gut.
  9. Right on George. I see no M.D. or D.O. after anyone's name. See a real doctor and/or a dietician and get a physical exam.
  10. I have never used a line conditioner they may or may not work. What does work for sure is plain old hot tap water and it's free. Case in point, the other day I went on drift boat with a 7000 series reel spooled with inexpensive 20# mono, that had been presoaked before spooling 2 years ago and the reel unused for about 8 months. No coiling off the spool and the line performed flawless. I have yet to meet an every day saltwater fisherman that uses a conditioner, they only soak their line in a bucket of water. I can't see using mono line in freshwater would require anything more than a good preosoak in warm water.
  11. Everyone loses fish with no exceptions, it happens so don't read any more into it. I've lost a few this week. Keep the pressure on them and don't give a hard hookset unless you're taping your next fishing show for television.
  12. White Fang.......can't handle dog fighting, love everything else Jack London. No problem with these American History X......very enlightning, especially if happen to be one with an target on your back. Anything Oliver Stone or Michael Moore, more than entertainment food for thought. Schindler's List, well done and not terribly graphic as compared to other holocaust films. Appreciated by those that lost family members and lucky enough to have parents that made it thru. Kudos to Spielberg for donating all the profits.
  13. I wouldn't consider any of the polled reels. Under a $100.........president(maybe a supreme ) Over a $100.........stradic fi
  14. I had around 40-45 hourly and 5 or 6 salaried employees working for me. I was pretty flexible but a lot had to do with the job description. Salesman are not expected to hang around but be in the field working on new accounts, pretty easy to keep track based on performance. Bookkeepers, reception, scale man, yard foreman had to be on site at all times but they had it easy with me as long as there was no abuse. Anyone is replaceable. Almost all of my friends were business owners or professionals as well, some were harder than me, some easier. " It's nice to be the king !" , Mel Brooks, History of the World part 1
  15. Went out Mon morn and caught 2 off sea wall at Lantana rd, then went on the Lady K for some drift fishing. I got 2 kings 3 bonita around 15# and couple of good size blue runners, a few cobia were caught on the boat too( not by me). I started off using a convential reel, then switched to a spinner, the bonita fried my reel, I'm in the market for a new one.
  16. I mainly fish the Boynton inlet. The fish are really starting to apeear almost every day now. I never go but I here the afternoon bite is way better. I go early to catch the outgoing tide and fish right in the inlet itself along the sea wall. I use xrap, terror eyes, soft plastics on a jig head & feathers, all you need. I tried live bait for the first time a couple of weeks off the end of the pier, I caught 2, one around 20#. If the tide is incoming I go to the beach and toss lures or spoons, last hour of incoming on the beach is best. I've caught them on rattletraps too, they will hit any bass lure, not important what they will hit only if they are hitting at all, very finicky fish.
  17. I use 10# braid on 4 freshwater outfits and braid on 8 saltwater 10-15-20#, I use no mono at all, except on drift boats and only because they frown on it, tangling with mono is a nightmare. I use braid for all applications and all species of fish, I find it superior in every aspect. For me " CASE CLOSED ! "
  18. Much of it has to with where you are fishing. Being in Florida much of my fishing attire is doubles as casual wear, fishing shorts and columbia t or Guy Harvey shirts and sandals( perfect dinner attire anywhere here). Fishing shirts are too hot, especially the synthetic ones, have about half dozen that I never wear). In cooler months a pair of sweat pants, windbreaker and waterproof socks, until the chill is out of the air. The no seeums are so bad this year that I'm ordering buzz off clothing, gloves, and face mask.
  19. If you think bass fisherman are embellishers (bald faced liars ) you haven't been to the ocean, we don't have to stop at 22 # in which to spin a yarn. A few months ago I was cleaning fish at the cleaning table and some guy comes up with dolphin that was around 20#. He said to me you should have seen the 50 pound bull that got away, I replied " how do you know it was 50 if you didn't land and weight it? " I don't weight them, just eyeball and estimate and probably wrong most of the time , haha
  20. I never liked firefox from the git go, preferred ie. IE has been miserably slow as of late so I switched to chrome a few months ago.........very fast and I'm pleased.
  21. The original post was targeting the fans, an obnoxious fan is classess. I've never been to Richmond so I can't bad rap it and probably wouldn't do it anyway. I'm a city boy, but I did go to high school in the south for 3 years and I will only say it wasn't my cup of tea. Ya know what the best thing is about being old? YOU MADE IT THIS FAR ! and now I get to go fishing everyday and buy whatever I want. LOL
  22. what if they are Mike Iaconelli with his Daiwa Steez? What if it is an angler with the same knowledge and experience as you? What happens with your Zebco breaks? A higher quality reel is going to help you fish more efficiently, comfortably, and longer. If everything else was constant, the higher quality reel will catch more fish overall. I would think the pros are changing equipment more often than us amateurs. I'm sure they get much of it for free and want to be on the cutting edge of technology.
  23. No offense Low Budget Hooker, but I prefer the U.S Postal service. It's faster and cheaper. The tacking system works well enough for my needs.
