  1. I don't get too bent out of shape, if I did I'd join PETA and give up fishing. I mostly use single hooks so foul hooking is at a minimum. Bass are abundant and they are a food source for other animals and birds, the fish will not go to waste.
  2. A good bite on yesterday as 4 of us caught about a dozen 12-15# bonita and a few small amberjacks in the 10# range. 170' near the Juno pier.
  3. I don't like to see any fish die, but it happens. I don't worry about it, as mentioned in the "circle of life" it's a good bet it will be a meal for another animal.
  4. Wouldn't that be unfair to other competitors? Ok for personal use I guess, but for a tournament I would call it cheating.
  5. I grew up fishing Lake St Clair, both sides American & Canadian. It's a shallow lake and storms do come up, but as a kid I fished it in a rented rowboat with a 6.5 elgin outboard. I don't remember ever having any trouble with "rough seas" on that lake.
  6. Oprah is the greatest.........
  7. Peacocks are very slow in Palm Beach County, too much winter kill this year, haven't caught one up here in months, I've caught a few in Broward. Great bait in some canals for those freshie snook & tarpon
  8. Bassn, Bank of America..........no charge for atm withdrawals
  9. IMO ..........everything. You are the one that was concerned as to a fish's well being. Is the health of another species less sacred? There are many southern fisherman that fish for these species as well, not to mention vacationers that want to target them. I believe these other fish may have a smaller population and deserve attention as well.
  10. Would the laws of physics be different for a 1# bass as compared to a 10#? Same gravitational pull on a smaller but on a smaller frame. Fyi, some species here in Florida cannot be taken out of the water to dehook or photograph(unclear if it's in violation , but frowned upon)organs are unstable and can injure or kill, tarpons and large groupers.
  11. Cuda tube looks something like this, we make our own. http://www.stylefeeder.com/i/gzs7zbbl/Barracuda-Tube-12-Apos-Apos-Green
  12. Nope .......haha, I get miffed at saltwater guys using mono, the braid just handles those stronger fish better. I use mono on only 2 outfits. On a conventional used on a drift boat(they frown on braid because it's very normal to get 5-6 lines tangled) and ul. I am going to try some yozuri on it, I gotta be objective and know why I like it or don't like it.
  13. I've used a number of the different braids and I prefer PP, bit cheaper. strong and knots are down to a minimum, but like anything it's personal preference. Btw I understand shimano is buying PP, your customer loyalty will be intact.........hehe. Got a 20# cuda today in heavy current on15#pp line looks frayed but just fuzzy and held strong. Caught it on my stradic 4000fi, got to admit one fine reel.

  15. WTG nice fish
  16. I use fresh water lures in saltwater and vice versa, predatory fish don't care, they hit anything with very few exceptions. I have it narrowed down to 4-5 items that I fish with. Tackle and equipment manufacturers know that fisherman are gullible.
  17. There is a fellow on another forum board that fishes lox somewhere near Southern Blvd, posts quite often of some incredible numbers of fish, like 30 -90 in an outing and he is boatless. Just like golfers most are f.o.s., but I believe this guy.
  18. I was a late bloomer, fished mono back in Michigan. When I moved to Florida I started using braid on my new salt reels, used the left over for freshwater reels. I wouldn't use "cat gut " anymore and I'm totally converted. I don't fish worms often (rather take a nap which is what worm fishing is), but the other day I did. Big winds , big arc in my braided line and I still felt every nibble and bite. I'm a braid man till something better comes along. No brainer to me, sensitivity & castability of 2#, strength of 10#+

  20. Nothing has to be adjusted. All an individual has to do is have their tax return prepared, either you do it or have a professional do it. Then you have the answer, pay more or less than you thought or receive a smaller or larger refund. 8 bucks a week either way, just put it aside.
  21. The aforementioned tips says it all, nothing to add. HMMMMMMMM, really?
  22. Knew there was something I liked about you ! lol
  23. yep, no fishing signs.............
