  1. Looks like some type of home made downrigger
  2. Poorboy Baits Erie Darters are the goby bait of choice in IL and IN. WI is anything white. White spinnerbaits, tube jigs, senkos, Gulp minnows, blade baits, and crankbaits.
  3. What is a fishing room? I picture a bathtub with bass in it. Your mancave?
  4. That's a Terrova electric steer. 4 bolts to mount
  5. The solution to your dilemma is a Abu 5500 C3. The reel is built like a tank and relatively inexpensive. Not the prettiest or lightest reel but it will last forever.
  6. Just because you use a tool to perform a job doesn't mean it's the best tool to perform the job.
  7. 14 years without a cigarette and 14 years of weight gain....I think it's a wash
  8. Don't pick on the poor guy. You forget he fell off a roof a few weeks back? Probably knocked something loose upstairs.
  9. Displaying the American Flag
  10. There is a write up on ***
  11. Light colored bass are not using weeds as cover and/or hanging out in deep water. You throw that bass in a dark livewell and it will change colors in a short while and look like a typical largemouth.
  12. Yes. Here in IL we have a smallmouth season and on my home water a 3 smallie creel limit. Smallmouth are immediate release before and after season. I can weigh them in during the season but no more than 3 of my fish can be smallies. You will need to check your local regulations.
  13. You'll need to check local clubs and regulations. There is a list of electric only clubs on tinboats.net A livewell of some sorts is a must.

Conceal Carry passed the Governor's veto today. the following are remarks from Governor Pat Quinn. Today’s action by members of the General Assembly was extremely disappointing. Following a weekend of horrific violence in Chicago in which at least 70 people were shot and 12 killed, this was the wrong move for public safety in Illinois. Members of the Illinois House could not even manage to pass follow-up legislation that included a few of the critical changes that I outlined last week, such as improved mental health reporting and the duty to immediately inform law enforcement officers of the possession of a loaded concealed weapon. Throughout the legislative session, I made clear that any concealed carry law must have common-sense standards. I pushed for a ban on assault weapons, limits on high-capacity ammunition magazines and local option for home-rule communities, among other reasonable restrictions. I met with legislators regularly and discussed these standards in my State of the State address and all across the state of Illinois. Yet, despite my objections, members of the General Assembly surrendered to the National Rifle Association in the waning days of session and passed a flawed bill that allows people to carry guns in establishments that serve alcohol, and allows people to carry unlimited guns and unlimited high-capacity ammunition magazines. In a supreme overreach, this bill even included the National Rifle Association’s trademark provision – a ban on future assault weapon bans in home-rule communities – which has nothing to do with the concealed carry of handguns. Public safety should never be compromised or negotiated away. It was wrong on May 31 and it’s wrong today. We will keep fighting for these critical provisions that will save lives and establish a better, more responsible concealed carry law in Illinois.
  17. Already mentioned I have a stepdaughter. Every pic she takes of herself has that stupid look
  18. Or the fish lips look
  19. Humminbird 596c HD, 596c HD DI, You can also look into the 300 series units which will give you more options but a smaller screen. FYI online distributors will sell for a lot less than stores like BPS, Dicks or Cabelas. What I would suggest if you are near one of the big box stores is to go in and play around with the display models. Look at the screen sizes and ease of operation. You can also look at other brands like Lowrance, Garmin, Raymarine and see what features you like most.
  20. I figured out what its for when I went to the fireworks on the 4th. It is used I conjunction with a device called a cell phone to grab the attention of teenagers, especially those of the female persuasion, and prevent them from enjoying carnival rides and funnel cakes and live music and fireworks. It gives people the ability to show off small nuances in their pathetic lives to others lacking those nuances in their own pathetic lives. It allows adults to reconnect with people who didn't care about each other 20 years ago and confirm doubts they had about why they didn't keep in contact. Mix in a booty call or two and there you have it. My step daughter is one of those who has fallen for the spell. Drives me crazy how obsessed she is.
  21. How much you got? Finders start in the $100 range and the pro's could have 10k or more worth on their boats. I would figure out a budget first and then ask for recommendations. The bare minimum if it were me is a 2d color graph with a 5" screen for ease of reading.
  22. Throw a jerkbait. or a crank and find out for sure. You've got nothing to lose and possibly can catch yourself some tablefare.
  23. Red and green will have the easiest affect on your eyes. If it were me, I would put the white in the storage/livewells and red or green on deck.
  24. The pumps on the PP Sportsman and Sportsman II are also noisy. Congrats on your new purchase. You're going to love it..
