I got pulled over twice, on the water, this past weekend by the Sherriff. On Friday I get waved over. I think it's because I haven't received my registration yet and have no #'s on the boat. He just wanted to know how the fishing was. 2nd time was on Sunday for going 4mph in a no wake zone.(Sherriff got sneaky this year and they have jet skis now. The patrol boats stick out like a sore thumb but the jet skis blend in with everyone else)

At this point, I think you only have a couple options. Inquire about the HOA who would be in charge of the property. Ask permission from one of the residents. This is what my son does. He'll ask a homeowner if they mind if he fishes the subdivision ponds and assures them he will release the fish. Or just forget about the hassle and find somewhere else to fish.

Why would it? There are 20-22' bass boats on the market with the TM batteries in the stern and the TM on the bow. Just use 8ga minimum, 6ga recommended. You need to fuse everything electrical on the boat. A fuse and a circuit breaker accomplish the same thing. You're looking at a 50-60 amp fuse/breaker Edit: A 50amp breaker can run you from $10 to $70 depending on how fancy you want to get. The $10 breakers work just fine. To clarify, Are you planning on running 2 motors off one battery, or replacing the transom mount with the bow mount? You can run a MINIMUM of 8ga, although 6ga seems pretty standard on most bass boats nowadays. Yes you can splice it in. Use butt connectors and shrink tubing at the splice, and make sure you install a fuse or breaker inline.

We choked as well on Sunday. I've been on good fish for 2 weeks and on Friday our best 5 were 13-14lbs. Surface temps dropped 10* between Friday and Sunday with 2 fronts that passed thru. We had 2 that kept and about 30lbs in catfish. Don't know where they went. To top of a crappy day, I got pulled over by the jetski police in a no wake zone. Apparently 4mph is too fast.

The transducer puts out a cone shaped beam. If you're in 3fow, the widest part of the beam directly under the transducer is 3ft wide at the bottom. If you're in 10fow, the widest part of the beam is 10ft at the bottom, same goes in 20fow. It will be a 20ft wide at the bottom. And so on. As others have said, all the information is directly related to the location of the transducer and it's "history" so to speak.

Don't forget. In an emergency situation, you can step on the motor and use the electric trim switch on the motor to help you get back in the boat.

Apparently you are the one who puts the kids on big catfish, silly grandpa. A word of warning. Turning young kids on to the sport of fishing has long lasting effects. Be prepared to keep giving him his "fix". My boy has been fishing since he was three, now 23, and it's too late. He's beyond hooked. and nice job on the boat simple and effective.

The stupid fish can't differentiate different boat types. Bass boat=big deck for casting and laying out every rod in the arsenal because, well, just because, low sides for flipping baits and being able to reach in the water and grab the fish, large motors to get to your secret spot before everybody else does, large capacity livewells(not necessarily length) to keep your catch alive for the weigh-in, tons of storage because we need every bait under the sun. As previously mentioned, the hulls are built to move fast on relatively calm water. Once the water churns up, not so much. If you look at a crappie boat, it's designed for sitting while fishing, designed for shallow water, designed for multiple rod spreads. Catfish boats are essentially crappie boats on steroids. Most multi species boats are really not multi species but rather big water fishing boats. Most are deep v's as opposed to a mod v or pad hull. Most are set up to be able to sit and fish, to stand and fish, or for trolling. They have options for vinyl flooring or carpeting. Guys fishing for salmon or stripers may opt for the vinyl for ease of cleaning. Many are designed to run a kicker motor for trolling. Kayaks and canoes are designed to catch fish normally found on small water, but there are guys who brave the big stuff. I ran into a guy yesterday casting for muskies from a kayak and there are a couple local guys who brave Lake Michigan in 'yaks looking for perch and salmon. Then there's my boat. By moving, I don't mean swimming around. So a couple weeks ago my sons buddies are out practicing before a tourney and they kept their keepers in the livewell until the end of practice and then release them together in one area. Their thought process is/was to put the fish where they wanted them. Anyway, on tourney day they came in 35th place. Their logic didn't work. Fast forward to today. My son and I our out practicing for a tourney on Sunday. We see one of the guys in the club catch a keeper and put it in the livewell. I know he is practicing as well so he wasn't saving it for dinner. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he wasn't cheating.(keeping the fish until tourney day) I'm going to assume he was doing the same as my sons buddies and release all his practice keepers in one area. Is this a common practice in local clubs? Does it increase your odds?(didn't with my sons buddies) Is it ethical?

I watched the centipede movie with my step daughter on her computer during a family get together. Poor girl. I got her hooked on horror movies when she was young. She loves House of 1000 Corpses. Anyway, Human Centipede wasn't great but Rob Zombie could have killed it. What a great idea for a movie. Wasn't any worse than any of the B movies from the 70's and 80's.
