Was fishing the lakefront in Chicago and I watched a homeless addict, unprovoked, reinact a crime scene I assume he was a part of. This went on for 1/2 hour and he played both the roles of the police and, I assume, himself. The scenario involved a shooting and he had what appeared to be bullet hole scars on his chest and legs.

Yep. Spot Lock will keep you in a 5 foot radius as long as there is a GPS signal. It does a better job under low wind or low current conditions. I only say this because under high winds or current it does get annoying with the motor cutting on and off trying to keep you on point. Best to hit the button when the bow is pointed into the wind. If you do a lot of vertical jigging, it's a feature you can't live without. You can also set a speed and direction and hold yourself in place or trolling upwind or into current. I cast for bass but it is a great feature if you river fish for walleyes. You can set the TM to move with the current to keep your presentation vertical. Another benefit with the Spot Lock is you can catch a fish, hit the button, and not worry about the boat moving or running into shore while you're trying to unhook or retie. The US2 works fine with the 2d sonar. It is universal but check the compatibility list. You will need to purchase an adaptor. Had it on my Powerdrive V2 and have it on my Terrova.

Tracker is the #1 boat brand on the water. If they were garbage, people wouldn't buy them. All brands have their good and bad points. I have heard of weld issues and poor customer service. I have seen a warped hull on a Tracker.

I run the pumps all day and don't put anything in the well until weighin, unless I have to. Sometimes there may be an hour wait to get to the scales. Catch and Release and some hydrogen peroxide at the dock if I have to wait. I cannot stress enough, keep checking the livewells during the day. I check every half hour. I've heard adding Sprite or 7UP is good for bleeding fish, but have no experience with those.

Fill it up with water and see if it leaks. Riveted boats do not inherently leak like some people think. Rivets can get sheared off and can loosen although I've not seen it. If you look at welded hull boats, you need to check for cracked welds and warping.

I just went thru all this with Lakemaster vs Navionics and decided on the Lakemaster . Main reason, It's designed to work with the HB. I can shade depths I want to target. I have the option of iLink in the future. As far as accuracy, they both have their plusses and minuses. The HD is essentially contours in 1ft increments, and locations of marker buoys and ramps. I wouldn't base your graph purchase on a map chip. I would base it on the features of the graph. Navionics can be used on both Lowrance and HB and has more coverage per chip and some new technology which allows you to chart your own water, but I felt the Lakemaster was a better option for my needs..

Sounds good. I'll fish docks all day long but as soon as the sun is overhead, lots of times the fish will concentrate below them. Depending on how deep the water is,you'll want to throw maybe a senko or fluke to get the suspended fish AND a jig or t-rig or shakeyhead to get the fish on the bottom. And welcome to BR

It's not the non boaters fault the boater over extended himself financially. (It's my sons fault for talking them into tourney fishing ) Kid had a 16ft tin boat he could have used to fish tourneys on our home water. He sold his tin and a jetski to put a down payment on a bass boat and needed a bigger truck to pull it. All his paychecks are tied up in a Stratos and an F250. There's always more to the story.
