Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
Somebody's got to pay for the 100k in boats they give away at the TOC. Not knocking or defending them. AC has a new owner this year, from IL, and more of the funds are supposed to be going back into the system rather than being sent to California. I'm fortunate I fish AC against 50+boats, so it's a little more financially feasible. I could fish multiple AC trails but don't because of what you mentioned, the low boater turnout. Anglers Dream took over the AC Southern Lake Michigan Div. this year. They couldn't get more than 9 boats and paid out 1 place. Same problem in the SE Wisconsin Div.

Minn Kota Powerdrive V2
Great motor. Foot pedal sucks only a little less than the pedal on the original Powerdrive. It's a lot easier to control with the iPilot hand controller.

Nitro Z6
A few things to consider since you've decided on a Nitro. If you can wait until after the first of the year, you will get a much better deal on the previous years Z6, and may be able to get a previous years Z7 close to the price you are looking at now. If you're buying from BPS, they have better incentives if the purchase is made between Jan. 1 and Apr.1. Also, motor mfgs give better incentives before Apr.1. Mercury normally adds 2 years onto the warranty for free.

Where are all the Illinois Guys ?
I failed as a father. He turned out a good kid except for the Packers obsession. He is ridiculed by every member of the family and it doesn't phase him. My brother has season tickets to the Bears since before they gave the facelift to Soldier Field. My bro has taken him to every home Bears Packers game and the kid will sit and get taunted and stuff thrown at him, yet he continues to go. He was 6 when he saw the Packers win the Super Bowl against New England, and kids like to root for the winning team. It's a shame, he's the last boy in the family to carry on our family name,,,and he's a Packers fan.

Happy Fathers Day To All The Dads
I eat them out of this lake. Water is gin clear with visibility over 10ft. No smell whatsoever. Diet as far as I can tell is mostly tiny freshwater clams, at least that's what's always in the livewell. A lot of guys will throw panfish on ice immediately after catching them to prevent a funky taste. I've never had an issue.

Considering A Team Tournament League
First off, they're young. 23-24yo. Anyway, they're both pretty much broke. They qualified to fish the championship at KY Lake. The boat needed some carb work done and livewell pumps before they went. Kid who owned the boat wanted the non boater to help with some cash. They split everything else 50/50, and he felt repairs should be shared as well. Non boater didn't help and apparently they argued the entire week in KY. It's of my opinion, the boater should be responsible for all the maintenance and repairs of his boat. I guess some people feel differently.

Happy Fathers Day To All The Dads
I want to wish all you dads a happy fathers day. I was blessed with being able to go fishing with my dad and son today as we have every Fathers Day I can remember. Fishing was good today although bass were not the target species since my dad can't stand and cast all day. We probably caught 75 fish today. Mostly small to medium gills, but a couple at 9". Also got about a dozen bass, some perch, and a hammer handle musky @ about 20"

Keeping A Trophy Fish
Trophy is a relative term around the country. While a 6 or 7lb bass up north is considered a trophy, in the south it may be table fare.

Considering A Team Tournament League
This is the norm. My son is my partner and I don't charge him for fuel or launch fees, but he pays his entry and splits big bass and side pots. When we travel he splits fuel and hotel. When we vacation I flip the bill. A couple buddies of his fish as a team and the boater tried getting the non boater to help pay for repairs. Their season last year ended with bad blood. They have since made up.

Heavy Rain Killing Hydrilla?
There are a number of private lakes I fish where the association has purchased or leased weed cutting boats. These boats are docked on the lakes throughout the season. The weed kills with herbicide are generally done before the vegetation gets a stronghold. Neither of these options seem applicable to your situation. Methinks water level has raised and it's underwater.

How Big Is Too Big?
MK. Composite shaft won't bend and I have never broke one. I've had to replace a couple shear pins after hitting rocks hard, but that's about it.

I've got an XD .40 which has performed flawlessly. Although, not my favorite handgun, I would certainly entertain the XDS

A buddy of mine just picked up the XDs. So far so good. He found one in stock. Last time I checked it was a 6 month wait at all the gun shops around here.
