I posted this in another thread as well. TW sells their gift cards twice a year at 15% off. You can then use those gift cards to purchase items when they have their sales. So let's say you paid $85 for a hundred dollar card. You use the card to buy $100 of stuff during one of their 15% off sales. You have just purchased $118 of merchandise for $85 plus the free shipping and free t-shirt. I do most of my shopping during Black Friday sales. I'll buy soft plastics by the butt load, and stock up on line and other lures I use alot. I buy my jigs 20 at a time as needed. I'll pick up incidentals all year long.

The fish are there. The walleye guys are catching them on live bait. I normally throw a jig or 10" worm and I catch walleye. Go figure. I'm not big on fishing deep either. I need to figure something out. The bite really shuts down during the summer, and one or two quality fish can make a big difference at the scales..

Humminbird and Lowrance are the big 2 when it comes to bass fishing. You can get a pretty decent graph for $500. I'm experienced with HB products. The 587ci HD Combo is in your price range. Color, GPS, Down Imaging and 2d sonar. You can jump up to the 700 series units which have a slightly larger screen but you will lose features at that price point. IMO the HB units are more user friendly than Lowrance.

The longer the rod, the further the cast. I have no brand preference on panfish rods or reels. I have a couple cheap ultralite combos. I do like spooling them up with Mr. Crappie 6lb mono. I don't like flouro on the small spools. A lot of guys here will use Fireline Crystal with or without a leader. I don't panfish enough to care about expensive line.

Since you are not circulating water thru the fins of the radiator, you would get more heat transfer if you put the radiator in ice and pumped the livewell water thru the coil. If you wanted to get creative, you could hook up a thermostat of sorts to the bilge pump. It would circulate the water thru the coil. Once it reached a certain temp, the switch would open. If the water temp rises above another setpoint, the switch closes, bilge kicks in again and circulates water until it opens again.

That's a loaded question brandonss. What's your budget? What are your expectations? Do you want/need GPS? Imaging? B&W or color?

Define deep? I think offshore structure would have to play a big role as well. I think the assumption that toothy critters are the cause is completely false. We catch musky and pike in the same depths as bass. I've caught musky in a foot of water on senkos. Fish tend to be where the food is. If you have areas where bait school in deeper water, there are most certainly predators near. If bluegills are holding in 8fow during the summer, there will most certainly be predators around. Many of the northern lakes do not have the huge shad populations you will find in the south and bluegill and crawfish are the target food. 15fow is deep for bass on my home water with a max depth of 35ft and no deep structure Take Lake Geneva in WI for instance. Max depth is 140ft and during the summer catching suspended fish is common. The lake has reefs, flats, rocky drop offs, and in addition to panfish, ciscoes are the main forage. This is part of the reason Geneva holds a decent lake trout population.

You don't need to fuse the negative if the boat is wired properly. I thought you had said the fuse was taped to the + wire.

I'm using this exact rig except with 1 split ring and 55lb braid. Baits have been Rage Craws and Pit Boss'. It has caught many a fish this year.

Get an inline fuse holder. You will need a 3 amp fast blow fuse. Connect the fuse holder with butt connectors if its the glass fuse holder. If it's an automotive type holder you'll want to use insulated spade connectors. Use shrink tubing where necessary.You can use wires but I'd recommend picking up some ring connectors to attach the wires to the battery. You will get better contact and run the risk of overheating the wires if you don't have a solid connection
