  2. If you have a chance, see "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer". Came out in the mid 80's IMO best thriller/horror movie ever, because it could really happen. Based on serial killer Henry Lee Lucas PM sent
  3. Asian carp made it to the Des Plaines river http://www.chicagonow.com/illinois-outdoors/2012/03/silver-carp-shot-by-bowhunter-near-brandon-locks/
  4. Interstate makes a good battery. Walmart carries Everstart for around a hundred bucks.
  5. As far as a charger, you want a charger that knows when the battery is charged and go into "float" mode, or shuts off completely to prevent overchaging.
  6. I worked on the boat today but my son got out with some friends for a couple hours on the Fox River. Caught this big girl on a Havoc crayfish bait.
  7. 50% of value? I'll probably end up keeping it. Can never have too many guns right?
  8. Buckeye mop jig in PB&J
  9. How would I value a used gun to sell or trade in? It's a slightly used Springfiedl XD .40 I'm waiting for the new XDS to be available, and If I like it I will be parting with the XD. I have attempted to trade in guns in the past but was never happy with the offers. How do gun dealers arrive at what they offer for trade ins? IL law states I have to keep records of a private sale for 10 years which seems like another can of worms I don't want to get into , so trading it in or keeping it would probably be the way to go..
  10. Did you make it out ok? How'd you do?
  11. This was a guest being nterviewed. Don't recall his name but the interview was political. edit Here's something I found http://www.dailyfina...ut-fall-slowly/ http://redtape.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/04/25/6527434-why-gas-prices-go-up-much-faster-than-they-come-down
  12. Doesn't matter. No one's going to see that little thing dangling in the wind anyway.
  13. Lund, My frustration is with the entire picture. The job creation and recovery. The fact that 8 or 18%(depending on what figures you believe) of americans are unemployed is not good for anyone. Changing my driving habits is not going to curb unemployment.
  14. The only problem they have is waiting in long lines to tinkle.
  15. They didn't get big bass. 10.88 was big bass and was the first time I had seen a double digit bass up close and personal.
  16. Just relax. Life's waaaaay too short to let trivial things get to you. You're missing out.
  17. Are you getting the ipilot. I think it would work well for you on the main river flats. Especially when they're running current.
  18. I see this as just treating the symptom rather than treating the problem. Addiction to a habit? Using fuel is a necessity, not a luxury. In the Chicago metro area, one of the reasons people live in the burbs because it's less expensive. There are many other reasons too, but $250,000 can buy you a condo in Chicago, and pay another $30,000 for a parking space. Or you can move 50 miles west and get a 4 bedroom house on a 1/4 acre and commute 3hrs a day to and from work and have your kids get a good education. I prefer the latter. My gas guzzling boat is a reward for my hard work. If one can't enjoy the spoils in life, then why work at all.
  19. Heard on the radio today, when oil goes up $10 a barrel gas goes up an average of .45 a gal. When it drops $10 a barrel gas goes down an average of .03
  20. Clackin' raps catch pike. Never tried the other bait.
  21. Life isn't fair. I agree, as it states in my profile. Rhino, Would you agree, cheap gas prices will improve economic recovery?
  22. To be fair, should a 2012 Mercedes owner pay more for fuel than a guy driving around in a 1986 Chevette? or a person who owns a $300k house pay more for heating oil than a guy in a $50k house? I believe in the free market. The class warfare is only being used as an example. $5 a gal., impacts different people differently and IMO will continue to prolong economic recovery.
  23. Long Mike The Bakken shale fields supposedly have enough oil and natural gas reserves to last my lifetime and then some. Wouldn't it make sense to encourage harvesting of these resources? Everyone talks about alternative energy. Those fancy batteries aren't made from "clean" energy and disposal is a problem. Nuclear is taboo. Ever seen a wind farm? An eyesore to say the least, and inopperative if there is no wind OR too much wind. I'm all for natural gas, hydrogen, or whatever else works BUT is has to be an inexpensive solution. Instead of punishing cheap energy, why not reward the alternative?
