With the side plate off, I listened to both the reels when I depress the cast button and they sound the same during a freespool as the lure drops, and when reeling in. 00 mod If you're implying buying the "S" word. The reel is 2 years old, never serviced, and hasn't been used much because I don't fish alot of topwater. The cast control works when I adjust the fall rate, just doesn't have any impact with distance.

Due to the nature of my work, I used to go thru alot of bluejeans, either from dirt or just wearing them out, especially in the knees. I would purchase the "factory reject" jeans for maybe $10 a pair instead of $30-$40. On 2 ocassions I split them from the rear pocket down to the back of the knee. One time I had a spare pair in the truck, the other, I did not. Oh, I forgot to mention, I go commando. Now, It's Dickies double knee work pants or nothing at all.

Here's what's happening. I have a Revo STX, 55lb Samuari braid, on a Fenwick HMG 7'0 MHF. All the brakes in the off position. Setup to be used for topwater. I can't get any casting distance from the is setup, no matter what lure I put on it. Also the cast control seems to have no affect. I also have another STX with 10lb flouro on an HMG 7'0 MF that I use for smaller cranks and plastics. All the brakes off. I can cast this a country mile. I'm wondering if it's a line issue, a reel issue, the setup in general, or something else I'm missing. Thanks

1. I'd have bought a small mom n pop fishing resort in the south that doesn't get hit by tornadoes on an annual basis. The elderly, handicapped, and U.S. Armed Forces stay for free. 2. I'd also hire a shampoo girl to wash my hair a couple times a day. I don't know about you guys, but I find getting my hair washed when I get my haircut is one of the most relaxing, stress relieving feelings one could experience. Oh well. Back to the grindstone.

I've had a P95 for years now. My favorite handgun. Very accurate and has never jammed. Like it better than my Springfield XD Top left. The XD is bottom right Rugers customer service is great. I damaged the Alaskan firing too large a round(350 grain, 260 is the max they recommend. Oops.). I paid shipping one way and they took care of the rest.

3 oaks is loaded with good #'s and sizes of large and smallmouth. I haven't been there but my son was there a couple times last year and did ok. He also shore fishes some areas on the river. If you do it in the privacy of your own home and the bass is consensual... If it was legaly caught you are entitled to do whatever you want with it. Go ahead and eat it or bury it in the garden. Don't let anybody make you feel guilty. Hunters don't get replicas of animals they have killed. There's that goofy show on tv, the name escapes me, where people have their dead pets mounted. I have a 7lber skin mount on my wall as well as some other species of fish. If, in the future I get an 8 or a 9 I may just take pics and do a replica. If I get a double digit, who knows.

If I fished by myself, probably not a bad idea. They'd get in the way of my partner in the back of the boat, I'm sure. Also, I don't bed fish much. I don't have the patience. I've got the Ipilot. If I want to stop and fish an area, I hit the spot lock button and can work the area with minimal movement. In fact the higher the wind or current, the better it keeps you on spot. Plus I can anchor in 100ft of water if I wanted to. I believe you're limited to 10ft with the PP. Sorry for the hijack.

The reason for 2 is not to keep you in place, but to keep from spinning around because of wind and current. The tracker being a tin boat IMO could benefit greatly from a second one depending on the conditions the OP is fishing

Water is 18-24" low right now on my home water. May not be alot to some of you guys but the average depth at pool is 6' give or take. This pipe is normally under water as I have never seen it before. Any of you guys get lucky finding spots when the water is low? I'd bet some of you guys in Texas have found a whole lot of stuff as a result of last years drought.

Those would be skirted jigs in 3/8-1/2oz sizes. Attach a trailer. This year I am trying Rage Craws on the recommendations of people on this site. There are some site sponsors like Northstar jigs, which I highly recommend because of their quality, and Siebert Outdoors, which I haven't tried yet, you may want to look into. As far as non site sponsors, I normally use Buckeye. You can't go wrong with variations of black n blue, PB&J, or some type of green pumpkin. I spend alot of time fishing the Chain. If you have any other ??? don't hesitate to ask. I was out todayfrom 7-11am, with the big temperature drop and the ENE winds blowing 20mph. Caught a handful of short fish, all on jigs. Very light bites. The bass were picking up the jigs and swimming with them. I really needed to watch my line to detect the bites.

The wind is your enemy. 17 would be ok on a calm day but that's about it. I think you're in the ball park with 35

TheSaladYears My son has been fishing the Fox river between Mchenry and Algonquin dams. Jigs and crayfish baits have been working. He hasn't caught much before 10am. The water temps have gone up almost 20 degrees in the last 3 weeks. He was on the Chain today 15 fish all on jigs. 5 keepers and 10 shorts. 2 keepers at 8am and the rest of the fish after 10. I'm heading out to the Chain in the morning first time this year. PB&J mop jigs are my favorite color on the Fox with black and blue in a close 2nd. bassking, don't know much about that area but I was up in the Dells today. on the ride up, saw a bunch of people fishing at Rock Cut. Where do you fish out that way?

It still comes down to adapting to what you're fishing. I'm a jig/finesse fisherman. I have learned thru experience this technique does not work all the time. I continue to learn how conditions dictate what I throw. It may get more complicated depending on what body of water I fish. I know on my home water what works most of the time. Change the body of water, the structure, cover, forage, conditions, time of year, and it's a whole new ball game. The cooling lakes in my area, finesse works but cranks kill. Just got back from Guntersville. Caught more fish on cranks(and got really sick of throwing them) but bigger fish on jigs. KY Lake for me is 50/50. If you follow the leave everything at home theory, then it needs to be on a lake to lake basis. What works here may not work there. Or you can just fish a jig.
