Old outboard engine questions
The compression #'s should be close for each cylinder. If you have more than a 20-25% difference between any of the cylinders than you have a bad cylinder which would need further diagnostics to find out the problem.

Anyone ever injure themselves fishing?
About 8 weeks ago I damaged a nerve in my finger setting the hook on a jig fish. Still bothers me.

The "Perfect" Presentation
That would be more the "perfect "cast which I agree with.

The "Perfect" Presentation
Is there really such a thing? Alot of guys are pre-occupied with the "perfect" presentation. Nature isn't perfect. Why should we be perfect? How many of you guys think it's the presentation that is getting the bites or is it just being at the right place at the right time? Knowledge is helpful, but do you really think it matters if you throw a bluegill fluke, "natural" craw jig, bubble gum senko, etc., directly in front of a bass? I'm not taking either side because I'm a firm believer in both presentation and luck. Just curious.

Bayliner Bass Boats
Nener heard anything good about Force motors. In fact a # of years back a friend of mine had to have a major overhaul to a Force 125hp that was just out of warranty. They sold the boat a few years later on consignment. The broker told them that If the Bayliner had any motor but the Force they could have asked more for it.

Boat Covers
I had a custom canvas cover made when I bought my boat in 2005. The boat is stored outside year round and during the winter I cover it with the blue tarps. It's been repaired once and the repairs are going to outlast the cover. I have waterproofed it myself once myself an once professionaly. I didn't see any difference between the two. I'll give the cover another few years before it needs replacing.

Free lure??
We call them bonus fish. In the fall I spend a good amount of time searching for that trophy smallie in the waters of Green Bay(one of these days ). Just so happens the chinook salmon are in close to shore getting ready to spawn. We hook into salmon every year with lures, dodgers and other trolling gear in their mouths. Also plenty of them with crankbaits stuck in their backs from the guys casting from shore.

fishing for bass not pike!
Where you fishing pondmaster? Are you in a boat or shorebound? I boat fish the river in the Elgin area and further north by The Fox Chain. I found during the summertime you'll get less pike on soft plastics. The summertime smallies tend to be smaller than the rest of the year, but you can get some up to 18" or so if you know where to look. Also the bass tend to hold tighter to cover than the pike. I like throwing baits right up against the seawalls. I use Yum Dingers and Houdinishad but know guys who use plastic helegramites on a jig that have alot of success.

Green high lighted words in the forum posts ?
- To fish or not to fish?
I've been tourney fishing for 5 years now out of a 17' aluminum v hull with a 90hp. First tourney I was in my son said "Dad, you have the crappiest boat here" It takes me a little longer to get to the spots. Oh well. Everyone in the club knows our boat because there are only 2 tin boats in the club. When my "crappy" boat brings home a check, some of the guys with the $40,000 rigs get upset. Most of the guys in the club are decent but some of the guys that are sponsored up don't take too kindly to us. Doesn't matter to me. I've made enough money this season to justify the new equiptment and trolling motor I purchased this year. Had plenty of fun doing it. My son is my partner and this is the only time I get to spend with him anymore. It's all good to me. Don't be intimidated. You need to start somewhere. Get out and fish!- Would you allow it?
People take risks all the time, and more power to them. Her brother made the same journey the year before. Maybe her sailing skills were above and beyond that of many. Maybe the pirate thing is overrated. I just think with the way the world is today, that may have not been the best option. Maybe it's my mentality. I don't have to prove anything to anyone. I can live with myself. I have a stepdaughter who is turning 21 tomorrow. I met her mother when she was 6. Her mother is very over protective. I encourage her to go out and live life while she can, but to be smart about it. Believe me I get alot of heat from her mother. A kids got to live. I know I did. Just don't be stupid.- Mono Or Braid
Mono for spinnerbaits, swimbaits, and crankbaits. Flouro for senkos. Braid for topwater. Braid with flouro leaders for everything else. When choosing line take into consideration the action of the rod. The stiffer the action the more stretch you want the line to have except for flipping and pitching.- Retrieving Your Boat 101
Someone needed to film it ;D- Your biggest "non" bass specie's while fishing for bass!
Fishing for smallies I get 15-25lb king salmon all the time fishing crankbaits. For largemouth a 38" musky on a jitterbug- Deadliest catch...
Gotta keep you watching. They may not have talked about Jakes addiction if Phil hadn't died. It keeps the drama going on the Cornelia Marie.- Heinz 57
Why would anyone put kutchup on anything?- Would you allow it?
She was LUCKY. I'm not talking about the storm. There are pirates who could have done much worse to her than the storms. No is my answer- Retrieving Your Boat 101
Zum, This stuff happens all the time at the ramps. It's very frustrating. I have volunteered to help in the past and most ignorant folks, especialy pleasure boaters, don't want it. So now I just laugh. He needs one of these- The Rod/Reel setup you are happiest with
Ardent F500 and Fenwick HMG/AV 7'6" MH flipping stick. 55lb Diawa Samuari braid- Retrieving Your Boat 101
I was hoping the strap would break and the boat slide back in the lake. That would have been priceless.- pro fisherman
Ahh, I see you have a problem playing the ponies. - To fish or not to fish?
