I would say no. My guess is it would trip at a lower amperage. Amp draw is amp draw. If its rated @ 60a then thats what it will trip at. I would think each battery should have its own circuit breaker. I have fuses in line with each battery. If your batteries are protected seperatly than you should have no problem.

What maintenance do you refer to? Gelcoat maintenance, waxing and repair. If you end up scraping thru the gelcoat on rocks or a dock you have to repair it to prevent damage to the fiberglass. In an aluminum boat its just another dent.

...and fiberglass requires more maintenance.

Aluminum V's are great in rougher waters EXCEPT if your trying to stay in a certain spot. More of the hull is out of the water and if the wind kicks up while you're running the trolling motor it acts like a sailboat. It can be very frustrating. I fish 80% on small water and 20% on Lake Michigan with an aluminum v. I bought the v hull because of the big water. I fish my tourneys on small water. If it's windy on the small water I spend more time fighting the wind then fishing. Buy 2 boats. Problem solved.

I was getting off the lake at 11:00 or so in the morning. Saw a guy with a brand new 24ft cuddy in line at the launch with the stern of the boat laying in the gravel. Apparently he was so excited to launch, he undid the tie downs on the transom and unhooked the winch strap off the bow...with roller bunks. I wish I actually saw it happen.

The osicilating tools are decent for small jobs but you'll eat up alot of blades on any large jobs. Hammer and a wide heavy guage putty knife might work better. you may have to just cut it all out with a sawzall and replace it with drywall.

It's possible the 12v switch doesn't work. A 24v motor will work on 12v only not as well. I found this out last year when I has 1 battery not charging due to a blown fuse.

I have an Icom hand held radio. There is a channel dedicated to the weather forecasts. I only use it when I venture out on Lake Michigan, and thats primarily for the weather. Lake Michigan can turn on you in a heartbeat. I don't know where you'll be using it but cheaper radios don't have as far a broadcast range as a more expensive radio. If you mostly fish small water your cheapest option is your cell phone, and chec the weather before you go out.

I know I've seen this topic here before but went back 20 pages and found nothing. BR seems slower than normal. Is there something I can do on my computer to speed it up a bit. Thanks

x2. the matt gill is probably one of the most realistic soft plastic bluegill imitations you will find. well worth the 20$! Just got a softgill and hardgill from TW. Haven't used them yet. Amazing how much they look like the real thing. Here's kind of a boring video but you an get an idea of how realistic the bait is.

Fisher has been around for a while. As far as the hull is concerned, look for any kind of warping, and loose rivets(not sure if the hull is welded or rivits) Can you test drive it? Will he let you take it to a mechanic to test the motor? You can also ask for maintenance records. As far as the trailer check the tires for dry rot. If its equipped you want to test the livewell and bilge pumps and trolling motor. Being 12 years old it may need batteries (could have been replaced 2 maybe 3 times). The bulk of the price is in the motor. If the motor is in good shape it could be worth the $2500. That's up to you.

I would recommend getting out now before you go broke.

How much is your boat and gear worth to you? Also if you ever have someone else on your boat and get into an accident or somehow that person gets injured or someone on the other boat you'd want to be covered. I don't know what your financial situation is but boat insurance is relatively inexpensive. And God forbid something bad happens on the water you could be paying for that for the rest of your life.

Poor fish NICE job on your PB. Get one like that for your 2 year old on his "fish pole" and he'll be hooked for life

I'm 40 and have felt this way for awhile now.Getting out on the water is good enough for me and catching fish just makes it better. My 70year old father is at the point where he throws his lines in the water and will either read a book or fall asleep, but will go fishing whenever the opportunity arises. In fact last year he decided to learn how to use a baitcaster, at the end of the day gave me his brand new combo and said he will stick to trolling or drifting. My 19 year old son gets frustrated and impatient when fishing slows. If we're fun fishing sometimes he just stops and sits in the boat. If we're tourney fishing his competitive nature takes over and will fish til the bitter end. So in answer to your questions: Yes it is normal. Yes you are getting old.
