  1. I love my HMG flipping rod. I'm tough on rods and usually don't spend more than $50. The HMG was double that and well worth it.
  2. Love my MinnKota. Had a Powerdrive V for the last 6 years never an issue. I upgraded to a Powerdrive V2 I-Pilot this season. No issues so far. Plus I still got a good buck for the original Powerdrive when I sold it.
  3. What are your thoughts on the Revo Toro
  4. What job would that be?
  5. roadwarrior, If I was to buy another round reel I'd stick with the Ambassaduer (call me old fashioned). I figured I'd catch up with the times ;D. Are you saying the low profiles won't hold up to the bigger fish?
  6. I have an Ardent F500 fro flipping and pitching and love it. Do you think the STX and XS1000 will give me years of reliability I have limited experience with the low profile reels, as I have just started using them this year and I'm not too impressed. $70 for an ABU c3 gets a reel that lasts forever. $60 for the BPS and Diawa reels I bought seem I'll be lucky if they last the season. I need to make sure whatever reel I buy is going to be strong enough for the salmon I catch while smallie fishing or musky when LM fishing. If I'm going to drop 2 or 3 bills I want a reel that will last
  7. Do you have a picture of that beaver?
  8. I picked up a St. Croix Mojo Bass 7' MH Fast for $25 at Cabelas bargain cave. It had a broken tip. I put on a new tip and have a 6'8" rod that needs a reel. Gonna throw cranks and spinners with it. What reel would you put on it in the $100-$200 range and the $200-$300 range. ABU, Diawa, Shimano, Ardent etc.??? It's got to be strong enough for the ocassional musky and salmon. This set-up will be replacing a 6'6" MH rod with a ABU Ambassaduer 5500c3 which I've been using for 15 or so years.
  9. He who farts in church, sits in his own pew.
  10. I don't know if Sno Bowl has bleach like other toilet bowl cleaners but mixing bleach and ammonia is a recipie for death
  11. I guess it all depends on the brand/quality of the equiptment. If it's high end gear I'd bet that the majority of the people looking probably have no idea what they're looking at. They see it as just a fishing rod. You'd be better off in the trading post. Last year I had a friend sell some of my old gear at his garage sale. All average spinning combos that were 15-20 years old. I priced all the combos at $15each and got at least $10 each. Best thing is it all sold. As far as being fair If you both agree on a price then it's fair.
  12. Thanks for your service
  13. bass or bass, The post is about the drug problem correct? Or you just talking marijuana?
  14. It's harmful to my wallet
  15. Check the June issue of Bassmasters magazine. They compare a handful of different 'yaks
  16. I don't know about everybodys local situation but in Chicago and its suburbs the streetgangs run a good percentage of the drug trade. Politicians and police may or may not be paid off by gang members. Do you think the gangs are going to hand over their profits to the government. I don't think so. There's too much politics involved in the whole debate. All the potheads care about is getting high. They have a little more intelligence than the hard drug users. The crackheads, hypes, and methheads are too whacked out to even know whats going on. Someone posted "It's survival of the fittest." Let the idiots kill each other or sit at home playing video games and eating Cheetos. AS LONG AS IT"S NOT ON MY DIME, I don't care. I will continue to work to support and protect myself and my family, be a contributing member of society, and pray for the idiots.
  17. 6 pages arguing about fishing rods. : I got ya'll beat. Picked up a St. Croix Mojo Bass 7'MH fo $25 at Cabelas bargain cave. Had a broken tip. Bought a replacement and now I have a 6'8" rod for under 30 bucks and it's not worth the breath to argue about ;D
  18. What drove you to buy the LH in the first place? I fish LH spinning RH casting. Never had a problem switching hands after the pitch. If it works don't fix it.
  19. $54 per month secure outdoor storage for a 17' with 24hr in and out access.
  20. Is everyone else willing to pay for this? Incarcerating people is EXPENSIVE. We can't afford to fund our schools as we should and we're definately underfunded in the prison system. When you don't even have enough cells to hold the prisoners it's even more expensive to incarcerate more (build new prisons). Here in Illinois (Chicago)they're releasing non violent drug offenders every day because there is no money or room in the prisons to take care of them. Our state is running on a 12 billion dollar deficit. There isn't any money to enforce the laws. IMO those in charge really don't care about the drug problem because it doesn't affect them. Meanwhile 30-50 people are being shot every weekend in the city. Mostly gang related, and drugs are what fund the gangs.
  21. So? ;D Mo' money Mo'money
