New Bass Boat?????
Does your wife have a sister? I've been browsing myself and there is alot to take in. I've ordered catalogs from the manufactures. It' much easier to compare boats when you have all the info in front of you than going from website to website. You can get alot of info from BR

This a LM or a SM?
Glenn, Your smallies have well defined markings, as does the original posters LM. Not all LM or SM have such markings. Especially smaller ones. Early spring on the water I fish when the LM are just moving into the shallows the bass tend to be a light greenish color with little or no lateral line. And smallies Are tan and don't always have well defined markings like the fish in your pic. Red eyes are also a determiner in species. So you see there could sometimes be a little confusion.

Heating & Air guys?
How much water? Too much to evaporate or does it interfere with the blower when it's running? Many furnaces made within the last 10-15 years only require removing 2-4 bolts and the molex plug from the motor and then sliding the entire blower assembly out. If the control board is mounted to the blower assm. it may take a little more work. If you attempt to do this TURN THE POWER OFF. Any other ? PM me. I have 15 years exp.

How late in the season do you fish??
March 1st when the first cooling lake opens here in northern IL until Thanksgiving give or take. That's about the time the ice starts forming.

Boat Storage
My HOA says no trailer can be stored on the property for more than 24 hrs.( check your HOA rules for wording) I keep my boat in a very secure lot with 24hr keypad access. It's only 10 minutes from the house and less than $60 a month. 6 years I have never had anyone tamper with the boat. I pick the boat up the night before I go out. Plug in the OB charger and make sure everything checks out. I also bring the neighbors salmon and panfish to keep the peace.

Is it crazy that...
I missed this post the first time. What's the difference if you spend a grand on crankbaits, a few grand on rod&reel combos, 30 grand on a boat, or 30bucks on an Uglystick combo and 6 bucks for a pack of senkos. There is no point in justifying how you spend your money whether alot or a little. It's all the same. It's all for a stupid green little fishy.

Nugget thief!
I was guilty of this as well. ;D AFAIK, isn't it illegal to tell anyone other than the lunch lady that a person receives free lunch? Privacy thing, last time I heard. Exactly! I would like to know whether RECEIVING a free lunch is illegal. It says SHARING a free lunch is illegal, yet they arrested the person who received the food. How do they even know that he was aware he was receiving a free lunch? And now the school gave away private information regarding a student's participation in a social program.... Stealing from the taxpayers.

Heavier stuff? Heavy cover? Baits? Fish? Please clarify.- Landing Nets!!!!
Whatever net you get make sure it's strong enough to bring in any fish you MIGHT catch. I have a Frabil colapsable net with a composite handle. Works great for bass but the handle broke in half while netting a muskie during a bass tourney. I will say Frabils customer service is second to none. I spoke to someone on the phone and emailed them pics. They had a replacement handle in the mail at the end of the day. No charge.- Does your dog like to fish too?
Joe Bucher- Help Needed and Appreciated
There was a fish kill caused by the weather and asian carp http://www.pantagraph.com/sports/recreation/fishing/article_03df4e40-951d-11df-b67e-001cc4c002e0.html- So with the help from fellow members...
For jigs and plastics, black n blue, pb&j, watermelon redflake, junebug should cover the basics for most situations. Spinnerbaits, chartruse, white, or a combination of the 2. Cranks, natural colors for clear water (match the hatch) combinations of any color for stained or deep water. moby bass, You talked about bumblebee. Thought I'd share that all bumblebee colors are not the same. I fished a tourney earlier this ear with my son. He was nailing bass on a bumblebee senko type worm wackyrigged (not sure what brand) I was using a different brand couldn't get a bite. The colors were slightly different. I switched to his worms and started hooking up. I normaly feel that if you pitch your bait at the right place at the right time, just about any presentation should work. I was proved wrong.- Fishing a River
Point your boat upstream, get on the trolling motor, and go. Casting into the current and letting the bait flow downstream gives the bait a more natural presentation. Spend time fishing eddys and current breaks. Downed timber, duck blinds, seawalls, islands etc. Bottom composition is also important. Better off with a hard gravel or rock bottom than muck.- "guests" in clubs
Nope Our club has 2 open tourneys a year to attract new members. You do not need to be a member to fish but all club rules apply. These are money only tourneys and do not count towards point totals for regular club events.- How long have you been fishing?
Pushin 40 years.- Mossberg JIC shotgun?
Can be very addicting. Fishing and guns=2 very expensive hobbies. Why couldn't I like soccer? All I'd need is a ball, some shoes, and a pair of shorts.- Water color question
Algae and or bottom composition. The system I normaly fish has a mixture of gin clear water and stained water in the early spring and late fall. During the summer the entire system is stained from the algae. Also the excessive boat traffic stirs things up contributing to the staining.- Mossberg JIC shotgun?
The one thing no one has mentioned is the amount of times the gun will be fired. It has one purpose, home protection, not hunting or shooting clays. Mossberg makes a good reliable shotgun as does Remmington. There are thousands and thousands of each brand in circulation. The gun may never get fired and certainly never see the use that a bird or deer gun would see. Someone earlier mentioned a gun with a folding stock. More of a multipurpose application. Might be the way to go.- Deer camp
Four guys have been going to the same deer camp for many years. Two days before the group is to leave, Ron's wife puts her foot down and tells him he isn't going. Ron's friends are very upset that he can't go, but what can they do. Two days later the three get to the camping site only to find Ron sitting there with a tent set up, firewood gathered, and dinner cooking on the fire. "Dang man, how long you been here, and how did you talk your wife into letting you go?" "Well, I've been here since yesterday. Yesterday evening, I was sitting in my chair and my wife came up behind me and put her hands over my eyes and said, 'Guess who?'" I pulled her hands off, and she was wearing a brand new nightie. She took my hand and pulled me to our bedroom. The room had candles and rose petals all over. On the bed she had handcuffs, and ropes! She told me to tie and cuff her to the bed, and I did. And then she said, "Do whatever you want.". So, Here I am.- To the SOB that stold my stuff
Sucks! Had it happen to me once a few years back. I took a weekend trip in Wisconsin. The boat was covered and parked in the well lit marina parking lot with other boats. I had removed everything from the boat or so I thought. I forgot a tacklebag full of soft plastics and the bow mount fishfinder. The marina management was no help. Their excuse "There are signs posted saying they are not responsible" Lesson learned.- Gas gauge.
I thought most gas gauges stopped working on the day the boat was delivered. ;D- so... im going to be a father.
You will need to be patient with the wife for the next 9 months. She may turn into a completely different person because of the hormone changes. Enjoy the kids when they're young. You'll miss that in 20 years. Congrats and hope everybody is happy and healthy.- Bought my daughter a $150 bracelet today
Wait til you have to "flip" for the wedding. You're getting off cheap right now.- Got hurt on the job. :(
Make sure you go to therapy. Your back is nothing to mess with. If the pain continues you may need an MRI to detect any tissue damage or a herniated disc. I slipped a disc 18 years ago and still on ocassion have issues with it. Also it's against the law for your company to terminate you for being injured on the job. If they want to fire you or not pay your medical expenses get a lawyer. On March 15th of this year I was on a jobsite, stepped on a manhole cover, it flipped up and I went in. I injured my knee, hip, back, and shoulder. I had rotator cuff surgery in May and won't be returning to work for another month Just sitting home getting fat ;D Good luck to you. I'm going to say it again. Don't mess with it. Make sure you do what the doctors say and go to therapy. - revo sx or stx
