  1. i like high speed reel better. if you need to slow down ... just reel slower.
  2. yah, their great baits move a lot of water around, the legs tear after a while though. its between them and the horney toad in my opinion for a good toad bait.
  3. all you guys posting all that cool stuff. ;D ;D well this is what you've don to me.
  4. haha yah ... subway is defiantly a big improvement although vito's still has better stuff... im right smack dab in the " town of cumberland " good to see some one else at least has internet around here. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  5. just to let you know for some of the trading post in cumberland va has 25% off pretty much all the fishing stuff in their and they have a few NIB 50mgs, crucial's, cumara's and lots of other good stuff. http://maps.google.com/maps/place?rlz=1C1GGLS_enUS362US362&sourceid=chrome&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=trading+post+cumberland+va&fb=1&gl=us&hq=trading+post&hnear=cumberland+va&cid=4233848250536689031 heres all their stuff
  6. personally i use it more to see what the fish might be in, because i don't have the best fishfinder its hard sometimes to tell the difference between fish and other stuff. so like creeks elevation changes. but if you do see that arc theirs a better chance that fish are relating to that kind of cover/structure. thats just my .02
  7. rock hoping around richmond is the way to go. ive caught a few nice largemouth at belle island, but smallie fishing between the powhite and train bridge is awesome.
  8. i say briery or sandy river its right in the middle ;D ;D
  9. id wait a while dicks usually runs them on sale 2 for 4 bux. they ran that a coupple of times last year. add that with a 10 off 50 coupon youve got a real deal.
  10. at dicks you can get a silver max combo usually on sale for like 50bux... and has a 20 mail in rebate, and if you can find a $10 off when you spend 50 coupon, ends up about 20bux for the whole shebang.
  11. was it the guy that worked at dicks in midlo...???? oo yah and those green top guys make you feel bad when you dont buy something from them, jeeze... but they defiantly have the best staff. lol i went their in the beginning of december wearing i tackle warehouse hoodie, caught myself half way to the door went and put the old carhart on to blend in. lol ;D ;D i guess i plan on going saturday. what time is everyone meeting up shoot me a pm or something id like to meet some fellow BR members.
  12. i guess i just like to look at how pretty and clean they are .. put em in some acetone, and hit em with the ole sonicare tooth brush. 3 reels down 2 to go.
  13. i dunno if its just mine but i can not figure out how to remove the shields on the bearings. if anyone knows or if you just cant, im curious. thanks, john
  14. well i have 3 reels in need to spool and cant make a choice on what line to pick. ive used fireline braid, i really like it alot but i want something thats hi vis. so im stuck between tracer braid and yellow daiwa samurai. only thing is that its gunna cost me nearly 60 bux to spool with the samurai. were i can get the tracer for 30ish. probably gunna do one reel in 65lb for frogs. and the other in either 40 or 50 for worm, jigs ... general stuff. well BR what do ya think -john
  15. hey if yall are planing a trip to briery let me know im about 30 min away, and always ready to do a lil fishin.
  16. to take the handle off you push down the lil round black thing and then twist it off counter clockwise. the sideplate release is under it levelwind on the left side. remove the spool and levelwind shroud it should expose all the screws. i think thats all im sure if i missed something someone else will pick it up ;D ;D
  17. you cant fish a fluke wrong in my opinion. i have seen them kill it when its all riped torn and to pieces. As for riging unweighted ewg hook is great when their shallow, weighed when deeper, carolina rig well really the ways are endless i've even wacky riged them once or twice. baby bass, white ice, pro blue green has worked for me really good pick up one of those zoom kits at dicks their like 10bux and has a nice selection of them and come with a box. happy fishin
  18. just got this reel from santa clause im wondering if i should keep it , seems really nice and got a good review on another fishing site; or trade it for 200e7 or fuego ... thanks alot .. john oo and merry christmas ... ;D

  20. soo many places to fish soo lil time ... id defiantly hit the james once the water gets warm enough to wade in. other than the ones already mentioned, i would recommend if you have a boat to try briery creek, not much like that place its one of a kind. if no boat .... still go their some good spots from shore too ;D ;D
  21. id go to briery its a great lake ( just watch out for those stumps). i havent been in a while but ive always had good luck their. last January i caught a 6-7lb bass fishing from the shore were the handicap pier is. luckily im only like 20 min away so i try and go as much as i can. if you dont catch any fish briery is still a good trip i always have a good time ... soooo many spots on that lake soo little time.
  22. aright well im stuck ... i can get the fuego from tw for 131 or i could get a zillion for 150 at gander mountain .... toooo many choices ... what do yall think
  23. keep it loose so you can keep the bait lower ... if that makes any sense. :-?.. and brakes loose ... all in the thumb ... now if your pitch skipping ad a lil brake
