I bought the 1 oz yellow suicide duck. Seems to be the perfect size for a baby duck, hatchling and heavy enough to throw on my swim bait setup. Any of you bought one and tried out? I won't be able to play with the duck till this weekend.
  2. Look at Academy Sports. http://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/h2o-xpress-ultimate-jerk-shad-12-oz-floating-jerk-bait#repChildCatid=891755 Better price.
  3. Pros/cons about this reel? Looking to use for 6" swimbaits.
  4. Would this be a good all around reel for s-waver 168, 6" Hudd, whopper popper 130? I know it's a faster gear ratio, 37" IPT, any of you use it for freshwater swimbaits?
  5. Casitas is really a very good reel, look at TW for reviews. I've been quite happy with mine.
  6. You mean Castaic? Like the older platform where the thumbar slides for pitching and flipping? Or you mean the Casitas? That came out last year and it's very good reel.
  7. I've bought 2 of the BPS Boss glide baits. I guess I didn't pay real close attention to the detail of the S-Waver and the BPS Boss. I can tell you though, one of them the Boss XXX Shad, I had to check the joints on 5 of them the store had. Either the joint felt tight or one side did not flip as easily as it did the other side. The other Boss in Hitch color flipped with no hiccups. I tried the S-Waver 168 and the Boss 4 3/4" side by side comparison last Sunday. On casting, the S-Waver tended to helicopter more than the Boss. The Boss is slightly heavier than the S-waver, so it casted a bit better and did not helicopter as much. Sink rate, the S-Waver sank a bit faster than the Boss. Which makes me want to add a suspend strip to get a slightly faster sink rate. The S-waver 168 I have glides smoothly on a slow and slow/medium retrieve. The 2 Boss not quite as refined glide as the S-Waver, but much smoother and not as herky jerky as the Savage glide of similar size. In conclusion, the Boss glide bait is good. Hardware, I switched out the treble hook's as I think BPS trebles are thin and weak. For a few dollars less than an S-Waver 168, it's a good deal, unless you can get the 168 on sale. You just have to check the joint on the Boss of the color(s) you want to be sure it moves side by side easily.
  8. BTW, the new regular Fuego baitcasting reel is the same as the regular Tatula w/o the TWS. So it makes sense that Daiwa would come out with a Fuego CT non TWS to match up platform size with the Tatula CT.
  9. Those places also make up cost on shipping. I try and avoid shipping cost.
  10. Daiwa Lexa HD? That's the high speed reel in 37" ipt? Do you crank slow? I thought about that reel, getting it.
  11. What reel is that?
  12. Ah! That's a self centering swimsuit...good color for stained water...IMO.
  13. I've had the 2017 BPS catalog for a couple weeks now and I am a bit saddened that the Extreme line is not there. I actually like the Extreme series, especially when they went on sale. I bought the last iteration of the BPS Extreme baitcast reel last year and it's a very good reel. I've had Extreme rods through the years but either ended up selling them or trading them in for the Classic sale. Nothing matched better than the green Extreme rod for my Shimano Curado 201E when I had that rod. Only reason I got rid of it is it had a fore grip. I know, it's not that big of a deal but at a time when most of my split grip rods didn't have a fore grip, I got rid of the Extreme casting rod. Now I need to head to BPS in Rancho Cucamonga soon and see if they still have those rods. I hope that when BPS comes out with the spring catalog the Extreme rods and reels will be back, all new and updated. Not holding my breath on that one...I guess the Carbonlite and PQ line were better sellers for BPS.
  14. I can't decide which poundage braid. This will be more of general purpose use. The Curado 71 will be on a MH rod. What would you spool from these 2?
  15. Plastics, crank bait, top water, Jerk bait? Is there a weight criteria for something to be a BFS bait? I'm asking cuz I just don't really know.
  16. Now that is perfect and price should be low on the Fuego CT. And should be lighter than full frame Fuego.
  17. Same size as regular sized Tatula, not the CT.
  18. Yes it is. I asked the same question a few months back and confirmed it's a Tatula w/o TW.
  19. http://www.basspro.com/Lews-Tournament-SLP-Speed-Spool-Baitcast-Reel/product/163694/ So far only BPS has this reel and it's not even mentioned on the Lew's site. TW doesn't have it also. Now I can't wait for BPS Classic sale in February. Looks like a new family member will be joining the tribe in a couple months.
  20. Wow! The BP'S Extreme rods and reels are gone, an end of an era. Some new BPS reels and the new Carbonlite baitcast reel is slightly heavier than the previous white model. BPS has a new glide bait that caught my interest, it's cheaper than name brand glide baits. Now the wait is on for the classic sale...
  21. 2017 BASS PRO SHOPS Catalog arrived. Can't wait to peruse the pages for things I really don't need, OK maybe I do need some things. Merry Christmas Ya'll!
  22. So its just a marketing thing to sell more of a brands reels?
