  1. Normally this rod is $120, and bought for $64 new at a sports store. Did I get a good price for this rod? Blank is straight and don't seem nothing wrong with it. I'll have to really loom at it when I get home though
  2. Do a Google search for Anglers Marine in Anaheim, CA for phone number. They have quite a few with split grip dn full handles. They are on sale for $79, I think they also ship. I was there this past Saturday and was checking the Lucky Craft rods out.
  3. Ah, ok. Thanks for the quick reply.
  4. Not sure if you are suppose to swim a plastic with it or crawl on the bottom. Also, what type of plastic do you use a darter head? Grubs?
  5. I saw this line at Dick's Sporting Goods tonight and it caught my interest. It says low stretch and I think it's mono. I'm looking at the higher poundage for swimbaits, either the 17lb or 20lb. Any of you used this line in any poundage and if so, how well is does the line perform? Notice if it has lower stretch than other lines? 6. Just trying to get an idea brand of line and poundage you use for your swimbait fishing. I'm here in Southern California and biggest lure I use would be a Huddleston 68 trout. I was thinking of using 15-20lb P-line, would this be a good choice? I need the line to be an all around line, so copoly or mono. Not interested in fluorocarbon.
  7. Just curious, why don't you want to throw swimbaits with braided line? Would 15-20 lb CXX P-Line work fine?
  8. I have this reel in left hand, 101B. I was watching YouTube of Mike Long using 6" Rago swimbait and he was using a Shimano Calais reel. So got me to thinking, I guess I could spool 65 lb braid on my Chronarch B and use it for swimbaits? Any thoughts about this?
  9. Looking to getting this new Shimano reel and wondering any of you guys bought this reel and how well it is. Does it feel compact in your hand? How is the retrieve, smooth? Casting distance? What applications are you using the reel with? Final question, is it worth buying?
  10. Not sure if they are size 1 or 1/0. I'm looking for similar shroom jigheads but with a stronger hook with or without weedguard. BPS has a new shroom style jighead but the BPS here in SoCal do not carry it...Went to the classic sale and I couldn't find them and the sales guy tells me, you will have to order it online and pick up here in store. It seems the BPS stores in the Midwest have better selections of everything, we here in SoCal get Jacked!
  11. Any of you guys handled this new Curado? Is it just a smaller frame of the Curado I 200? Any interest in this reel?
  12. Wanting to know if any of you guys have bought this reel, I'm looking for left hand for swimbaits. It's either this or the older Lexa 300. The new Lexa 300 HD has a power handle, will that be ok to use for swimbaits, or am I better off with the older Lexa 300 with paddle handles? Also gear ratio 7.1:1 and 8.1:1, will these gear ratio's be ok for swimbaits? Freshwater applications mostly and possibly saltwater.
  13. As mentioned I use 1/6oz Z-Man mushroom jighead and 1/8oz Owner stand up jighead, so I can also use with baitcast gear. I did pick up 1/10oz weedless Z-Man mushroom jigheads to try out.
  14. What mushroom head jig weight do you use? I normally use 1/6 Oz Z-Man or 1/8 Oz Owner stand up jighead. Reason I use this weight is I can also cast with baitcast gear. I am wondering if a lighter jighead might be better for drop rate and action. Also, what other jig heads do you use with your TRD?
  15. No lefty...BPS lost a sale on me
  16. Haven't had much luck with this and wondering how you are fishing it and if you are catching bass.
  17. I bought a float tube, I live in Orange County. Where in SoCal can one float tube fish? When the water warms up, I would like to put the new float tube to use!

I've used football jigs before and I just don't have success. How do you fish your football jig? What weight do you use often and trailer?
  19. Get a BPS muskie rod for the lure weight you are using, I want one of those for swimbaits, but not available in Southern California. I use a Shimano Cardiff 301 with 65lb braid. I am thinking of getting a Daiwa Lexa 300, since it's a bit more lower profile. Bad news is, I don't use that setup much, so no bass on swimbait gear...yet
  20. Check out tackle warehouse. They have Lobina blems for $9.99
  21. I do like getting the master catalog, it's like something to look forward to for the beginning of the year. I see the current BPS Extreme reel is on clearance and there is no new model. Normally a new model would be out when the master catalog comes out. The new Titanium 8, is that what is taking over the Extreme baitcast reel. I wonder what happened with Daiwa, why BPS to me seems to have parted ways. Happy to see the Lew's is there again, after so many years not being offered by BPS. I hope they carry Lew's at the store out here in Southern California. Also, I hope they get in the Shimano Casitas in store, I am interested in that reel for the classic sale.
  22. The 2016 catalog is smaller in size from previous years. I noticed the Lew's reels are now being offered and Daiwa is nowhere seen in reels or rods. Also the BPS Extreme reels are missing. But a new baitcast reel is available, forgot the name. And minimal specs for reels, rods and lures. You have to got to website to get specs. Don't like changes.
  23. Was at BPS Las Vegas earlier and saw they had the 3" Stik-O's. The BPS close to me does not carry these, so I bought 5, 2 the same, pbj color. I would think these would be quite good, small stick worm and doesn't cost as much as 3" Yamamoto Senkos. Any have experience with these?
  24. I was looking to replace a Zebco 11 Micro spin reel when I saw these. I think these are replacements for the Zebco 11 gold and platinum. Any of you have the 33 micro spin reels? Any good? I do enjoy the 11 micro spins, fun little reels
