Odd Lure Weights, Need Help Trying To Decipher
I'm reaching out to you math geniuses. Berkley has a couple new topwater lures I have interests in, but they have those odd weights. What's heavier? 2/3 oz or 3/5 oz? I'm looking at a couple fishing lures and they have weird weights, that I'm not accustomed to. Is there a way to convert these odd weight to what I understand, or close to? I know 1/4, 1/2, 1 oz, etc. How do I know what 2/3 oz is closer to? Thank you for your help.

NEW R2S WHOPPER PLOPPER 75 = 7LB LM BASS
A-Jay, if I could cast a buzzbait as far as a Whopper Plopper, I would use that so there would be no rolling. That's the big advantage of the WP, I can cast much farther where the bass are not being hassled by other fishermen who are fishing not casting as far.

BPS Green Pumpkin Magic Worm Color
I've had great results with this color. I've caught more bass on this than any other color. From clear to stained water, this works for me. What other brands have a similar color to this and what would it be named from them? Also in Senko, what color or color number is similar to the green pumpkin magic color?

NEW R2S WHOPPER PLOPPER 75 = 7LB LM BASS
In a nutshell, the WP 75 size works great, for the most part! First of all, the 1st thing I hooked with the WP 75 was a pine tree, that I forgot was behind me. I had to stand on a bench to get my new lure un-treed. Got my lure back, made 3 casts and on the 3rd cast, started reeling and part way retrieving it...a huge blowup! I knew right away it was a big bass, but didn't see it. It pulled drag, I thought I didn't set my drag but I did. So glad for stout size 4 treble hooks that come stock on the WP 75. Those 2 trebles kept the bass pinned in till I was able to land it, even after a few jumps out of the water. No bent thin wire stock hooks! That's one thing I like about this new WP size. It's shorter, stubbier in length and it's almost guaranteed both treble hooks will be on the fish. That's what I saw when I landed the bass, both hooks were in its mouth and on the side of its mouth. No worries of just one treble on the fish and hoping it does not come off when the bass jumps out of the water or pulls harder. I can tell you that the WP 75 is just shy of 5/8 oz and casts far on baitcast gear. No problems making long casts, it casts better than the WP 90 at 1/2 oz. I did notice that if you reel fast, the 75 will start to barrel roll. This happened a few times. A medium retrieve works good, no rolling. I also noticed that at times if reeled fast, it will swim on its side. Even though it has a deeper belly than the other sized WP, this happens and not too happy about that. I will be adding a black barrel swivel and black split ring to my WP 75, so it won't twist my line. I hope doing this, the action of the lure is still the same. Also I hope it will not add too much weight on the front end that it will submarine. The WP 90 at times will submarine when you start reeling. I did not notice the 75 going underwater when I started to retrieve. The sound the tail makes, sounds similar to the bigger WP's but in a compact size, not as loud as a 130 size. I think the sound is close to the 110 size. I'm glad the sound stayed the same and not any different sounding. It's a good looking lure, the treble hooks mean business and has it has very good body detail compared to the other sized WP's. I don't know if the fish cares for those cosmetics on the lure, maybe color helps in certain situations. Attention to detail in cosmetics, is more for the fisherman. IMO, the WP 75 needs a few refinements so it won't swim on its side or barrel roll on faster retrieves. No aforementioned problems when reeled slow to medium, runs straight. Not sure what R2S can do to improve those problems or what other DIY ways besides adding a barrel swivel. Hope that helps you to decide if you want to pick up the Whooper Plopper 75. I'm a Whopper Plopper fan, I own a few 130's, 110's, 90's and now one 75 size in bone color. I may get a couple more of the 75 in loon and another color. I also own the big and smaller BPS Double Down, dual prop ones. BTW, the new Ozark Trail analog scale weighed the bass accurately. I did forget to measure the bass with its built in tape measure. I wanted to get the bass back in the water ASAP so not to stress the bass too much. I did put the bass in the water a few times before I took other pics and passers by wanting to look and take their own pics. The big bass swam off with no harm. Not bad for a SoCal park lake bass, being that big and hitting a topwater at 6pm. Thanks for reading my review.

If You're In the Market For A Fishing Scale
Thank you. Its actually a limited edition 50th anniversary Zillion

R2S WP 75
From the look and girth of the 75, its should cast better than the 90 on casting rod/reel. I'm curious if it will have a different churning sound than the other 4 sizes. I'll eventually get the loon color, so I'll have both light and dark colors.

If You're In the Market For A Fishing Scale
I picked this up at Walmart for less than $5.00. Its simple, its analog, it has a tape measure in back, it has a push up, push down handle, and you can reset the dial arm to zero. It's lighter than the older Rapala digital scale I own...no batteries. I had the chance to test it out with a couple items that I know the weights of. It's accurate. Also, I caught a bass this morning using a Senko. I then was able to weigh the bass and it accurately weighed it at 3 lbs. I forgot to measure the bass though...Doh! What I like with an analog scale is, I don't have to turn it on like what you have to do with a digital scale, and wait for the digital to start up. I have an older Rapala digital scale, I've had for years. It still works, but it's just not accurate anymore. The brand is Ozark Trails, never heard of it before. I bought it cuz it was cheap. Quite happy it works like its suppose to and I don't have to hold on to the bass for too long and wait for a digital scale to start up. Hope this helps any if you looking to buy a fish scale with a built in tape measure, and the key word...its simple.

R2S WP 75
Local tackle shop got first order of the WP 75. They had 6 colors and was on the fence with the Powder color or the Bone color. Guy at counter said the Bone was popular. The weight is 3/5 oz, which I have no idea how heavy that actually is. So I put the WP 75 on my scale and it's just shy of 5/8 oz. Now I know. Also, I always check to see how well the tail spins before I buy and walk out the store. I've checked other sizes of WP the same way and have found some tails don't spin freely as others of same color. Had that issue with the I Know It color in 110 size. I had to go through 4, spinning the tail to find the right one. I'll give this new, stubbier version of the Whopper Plopper a go around tomorrow morning. I'll review it later, hopefully it will be just as good as the other sizes of WP. It has size 4 treble hooks, I'm thinking I may upsized to short shank size 3.

Shimano slx
I have the Casitas and it really is a good reel for $100. When it first came out, it was $129.99 and then it dropped in price to $99. I would think the Casitas would be a more refined reel than the new SLX, which has been stated for younger fishermen. I am interested in the SLX casting rod.

Shimano slx
I read on TT, SLX will have VBS braking, which sounds like the old, reliable 6 pin. No external braking like on the newer Curados.

Bass Pro Shop- Stik O Wacky Worm Review
https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-wacky-stik-o-worm I bought a few packs of these new worms from BPS a few months back, really caught my interest when I first saw them. I've had real good luck catching a few good bass on this worm, it's almost a go to bait for me. This worm is similar to the Reaction Innovations, Pocket Rocket. I've not tried that worm cuz I can't find it locally. I rigged one up in Green Pumpkin Magic color on a 1/8 oz shakey head jighead. I casted the rig a few times and then went to an area that was a bit shallower than other parts of the lake. I dragged the worm a few, shook it...and felt the line jump. I set the hook, felt that this was a good fish, not sure if it was a bass though. Bass finally jumped out of the water and saw it was a BIG bass. Fought the bass for a bit, had to loosen my drag so I don't have the bass pop off my jig. Finally got the bass close to shore and landed it. I landed an 8 lb, 22" bass! The BPS Stik O worm is now my go to bait for bottom fishing. It's fairly durable, the other bass I caught previous to this one, the lure held up. Not as soft as a Senko, and not too stiff as other brand stick worms. I have rigged it wacky style and it does flutter on the fall, slow sink rate with just a wacky hook. And still has a good flutter using a weighted wacky jig. BPS advertises this as a wacky worm, but in my experience, it works better Texas style. This bass I caught though was strong, after a few more jumps the Stik O Wacky Worm flew off. To me, that's not too bad, since these cost less that a bag of Senko's and you get more for your money. I do have to say that the 8lb bass did bend the shakey head jig hook. I thought this jig was quite stout looking and was quite surprised it was bent up some. So glad I finally landed the bass before it bent it more and got away. When rigged Texas style weightless, it cast good using a bait cast setup. I used a BPS Carbonlight 7', MH rod, Abu Garcia Revo X, 7.3:1 gear ratio and PP 30 lb braid. I can get a good long cast, reminds me of how well a Senko cast using a baitcast setup. I'm not sure what attracts the bass to this worm, I've thrown other worms, even a Senko and have not as much luck or confidence. I don't know if the ribs on the worm does something different in the water or just how it looks when dragged on the bottom. Important thing is this worm is durable for the most part and must be different enough to fool a big bass in a highly pressured city park lake. It has BPS 8 UP scent, it quite light in smell, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it to attract a bass. The bass I've caught using this worm, they seem to engulf it and not spit out. I say that cuz a couple bass when I felt the line jump, I gave it a few seconds before I set the hook. The bass did not take it and spit out, so to me that seems that it's that much different than other plastic worms, that the bass will eat this right quick. Most baits I buy, the bait caught the fisherman. I have found that not only does this bait caught the fisherman, but also it catches bass; fairly consistent for me. It must be that "different" for the bass to get its attention. BPS has copied a known worm, they did a good job with this one, making it their own. Why I say that is, the RI Pocket Rocked the ribs are arranged differently than the ribs on the Stick O Wacky Worm. Possible patent infringement, I think maybe. The color selection is good, not whole lot of colors. I would prefer if the had a natural worm color, but the one color that has worked good for me is the green pumpkin magic. I guess as long as this color works, why fix it?

BFS Casting Rod-BPS Carbonlight?
I saw that the Carbonight casting rod comes in a 6'6" and 7' length, lure weight 1/16-1/20z, medium light. So with these specs, can this be considered a BFS rod?

What Line Casts Better? Braid, Copoly, Mono or Flouro???
I've been using braid on all my reels and I've been quite happy with casting distance. I use either 40 or 30 lb braid, mostly PP. I do use some other braids, but I like PP the best. I have one reel that I spooled 15 lb P-line CXX. I haven't used a non braided line in so long. So it got me to thinking. 40 lb braid is 10 lb copoly/mono/flouro in diameter. Well for the most part, I know some nylon lines vary in diameter, but in general; 40 lb braid is 10 lb in mono. Braid is much more limp than mono and does not have memory. Which of the lines mentioned would cast better, farther, easier? As I mentioned, I'm used to braid.

Casting Rod, Some Guides Not Aligned
Bought a new rod the other day. Brought it home and noticed the e guides are not quite aligned straight. I know I can probably exchange the rod, but wondering if those misaligned guides will cause a problem or loss of casting distance. I try and make sure the rod is straight and the guides are uniform. I guess I didn't Check well enough before buying the rod.
