I just noticed that the Curado, that there are 2 versions? The Curado K and Curado K 200? When did this happen and what are the differences?

I went ahead and ordered the Curado MGL 71, 7.4:1. I may later on get the SLX MGL. I have the Curado 51, Curado 71; so the newer Curado MGL 71 will be added to the smaller Curado family.

Yes, I would like to buy both, but if you had to choose one, which one? If you own either, is it worth the price? Or do you wish you had the other 70 reel instead of the one you have? I guess I'm asking, help me decide which to get?

Check out TW and BPS and search for the SLX MGL. TW, the one they have on their site, it looks like a black colored SLX MGL. While on the BPS site, it to me looks green(ish) Did Shimano come out with 2 different color versions of this reel? One like a BPS exclusive color for the SLX MGL? I actually like the green color version, if that is the case.

I was at Walmart to get 50lb PP and well not much were on the shelves in the fishing isle, still. I need a filler spool of 50lbs and noticed that this was a new packaging for PP. They had 10lb PP in the regular packaging. I don't think I got fake PP, but the packaging threw me off. I did buy the 150 yards filler spool. Felt like regular PP. You guys notice this new packaging?

I just buy a wide Sharpie marker, it's cheaper. I make to cuts/slits on the tip and run my line in one direction and thread it the other way. It will darken your braid, you will have to re-apply now and then since it will fade off. I also use a firm thin foam when I'm applying the black Sharpie, to hold the line after you have the marker flowing through so I don't get Sharpie fingers...Sharpie finger stains.

Will a 301E paddle handle fit and work with an older 201DHSV?

Wondering if any of you still have this reel. I'm curious how long the hand is, not sure if it's 100mm length. Also would a Curado 300/301E fit and work on the 200/201DHSV? And will the handle work for either right or left hand reel?

I'm thinking of getting one in a swimbait rod. Are they that much more sensitive than traditional guide setups?

I'm looking to upgrading the stock paddle handle on my Curado 301E and was wondering of the Tranx 301 paddle handle will fit and work the 301E.

I'd be interested. I've always liked the Curado line and I have the Curado 301E. I would t mind an upgraded version, as long as there are a faster gear ratio with at least 27-30'ish IPT. And no round knobs...ick

Too many to choose from and not sure what is good. I would prefer a 6' casting rod in BFS. And where would I be able to maybe get a Kastking Zephyr casting rod & reel? Or what BFS casting reel is not too expensive and works great?

I do have to say, the weight of the lure is 3/4 oz. The one I have in the pic, is just slightly over 5/8 oz, so not quite 3/4 oz. I don't know if I'm disappointed that it's not the real stated weight. I did cast it out a few times today at a lake. It casts much lighter than supposed weight and just a very different topwater lure. It is loud! IDK if the sound scares the fish away. I'll keep casting this during the week.

I don't own any baitcast reels with round knob handles. How do they compare to feel and grip of flatter handles that are mostly on baitcast reels? Also, which is better, EVA or Winn round handles? Does one or the other have a better feel and grip? And is one more durable than the other? I'm looking to upgrading a Tatula 200 left hand with round handles but not sure if making the upgrade would be worth the extra money.

No, I don't hear it click when it moves. I've made regular over hand casts also and after a while the dial has moved with no interaction from me. I'm glad I vae a few older Daiwa's like Zillions and others. No issue of the magnetic dial moving.

I need to chime in. I have Tatula CT and Type R. Great reels, but I have found a flaw with Daiwa's magnetic braking. When you side cast and you side cast multiple times, the external brake dial moves to lower setting cuz of the momentum of the side cast. I've backlashed a few times not realizing the brake dial moved and I did not accidentally move it on the cast with my hand. The older Daiwa's pre Tatula never had this issue.

In regards to the eyes falling off. What I've done is take clear nail polish and coated the eyes with a layer of clear. So far it seems to work that the eyes have not fallen off, even after a bass smashes the Dark Sleeper.
