  1. Hey A-Jay. Have you considered the Metanium 150 MGL? It's an ounce lighter and it's magnesium frame instead of Hagane. It's a C nite more. I held the Bantam and it is a nice reel and probably as smooth as the Metanium MGL, But idk. I got a Metanium 151HG MGL and all I can say it is smooth and a world of art.
  2. Curado MGL 151HG & Irod Genesis 3, 7'4" MH(744C) casting rod. What a sweet combo. Light, casts far and great sensitivity. And the color scheme is spot on! Helped me land this bass...
  3. Expride. I have the current Zodias and I can imagine the Expride is that much better.
  4. I just bought the Metanium METMGL151HGB today. This is such a premium casting reel. Is a BFS spool available for this reel? If so where can I find one?
  5. L to R: SLX XT 151HG, Curado MGL 151HG, Curado K 301HG Local tackle store takes in trades. I got enough credit to get 3 new Shimano casting reels. I have the Curado 301E, very good reel but I like how the current Curado 301 feels. Feels as tall as the 301E but not quite as wide. The Curado MGL 151, I like how much lighter it feels compared to the Curado K 201HG and easier to palm. The SLX XT is smooth, casts far and the braking system works great. I had 40lb braid at first, did not like how it handled. So I switched out to 30lb braid and casts so much better. I'll be spooling the Curados during the week and enjoying the rest of this summer fishing with new top notch casting reels.
  6. The Curado 150 MGL palms better than the Chronarck 150 MGL? Also I was surprised to see 6 pin SVS instead of the 4 pin SVS like on the Curado 200K or on the Curado 70 MGL.
  7. I'm on the fence with either said reel. I looked at the spechs and both are close to being similar with the Chronarch MGL having 8 bearings versus 6 bearings on the Curado MGL. I'm trying to justify if the $90 price difference from the Curado MGL ($199) Or the Chronarch MGL ($289) is worth the jump.
  8. Can you please PM the website? I have a pair of Costas I'd like to get new polarized lenses
  9. I like funky, off the wall topwater lures: http://www.tackletour.com/previewicast2022zmanhellraizer.html Saw a couple youtube videos about it and I think it may be different to get a fish take a whack at it.
  10. I have the Curado 200 K and been looking at the Curado 150 MGL. I notice there's an ounce of weight difference from the 2 with the MGL being lighter. Is there an advantage of getting the 150 MGL over thr 200 K?
  11. The WP 60 I got in bluegill is brand new. I did some test casting at a lake and noticed the body would spin. There is no debris on the blade and the shaft is straight. I had issues with the 75 and 90 bodies spinning so I added a split ring and swivel. Doing this did not affect how the WP worked, so I did the same with the 60. I tried today and wrapped a small amount of lead strip to the front treble hook and 1 suspend dot. No good still, it still spins. The WP 60 is a dud in my opinion
  12. I picked up one of these to try a smaller Whopper Plopper. I added a split ring and swivel to keep the line twist at bay. The problem I have with this lure, it spins when I reel it in. At medium speed reeling, it does spin. On much lower speed it for the most part stays level. But it's too slow to reel in that way. If you happen to own the WP 60, have you done a mod to keep it from spinning? If so, care to share what you did?
  13. Very nice! Thank you, that's what I'm talking about! What are the specs on your DIY BFS rod?
  14. Ah ok, cool! This lure caught my attention for a BFS type lure. I do have a med/light, light and , ul casting rods I can figure which will work best with the Jackall Riser
  15. I've seen a couple youtube videos about this and it has intrigued me. I have one on order, seems everywhere these are out of stock. Also read reviews the stock size 8 treble hooks are too small and missed fish. I'm wondering if any of you who own this, have you upsized your treble? Has the action changed much? I was thinking of using size 6 thin wire trebles.
  16. I have a Shimano Calcutta 51, that's small for a round reel, but it's at 7oz. Also have a Shimano Curado 51E, very low profile but weight 6.9oz. Both are very easy to hold and palm. I know there are reels under 6oz but are they also small in hand reels?
  17. I don't think Daiwa is part of the %15 off TW sale
  18. What does Boyo mean?
  19. Jbsoonersfan, I do have the OG Fuego Casting and spinning reel. Also the Chronarch D and Curado D. I did catch a couple bass on the OG Zillion Coastal and M1 Vortex. 1st bass on a 3/4oz Cotton Cordell Pencil. 2nd bass on a Berkley 75 Choppo. Not big bass but fun any way you chop it! The Zillion Coastal is sooooo smmoooottthhhh....
  20. Mid 2K Daiwa Zillion Coastal(OG) and Phenix M1 Vortex(Present). So pretty....
