  1. caught my first top water bass tonight. missed one on a jitterbug but got one on a heddon torpedo. definetly a rush. only fished for about 45 minutes untill the mosquito's got the best of me.
  2. unhbass used BLK/BLUE and BLK/PURPLE senko's the whole day we were out fishing. i was using some cheap senko knockoffs in all different colors and he caught more and bigger fish. it seemed like he had more strikes also. now, i didnt beleive color matters that much before this, not sure i do now, but im definetly picking up some BLK/BLUE and BLK/PURPLE senko's next time i go to sports authority. i wouldnt call two 5+ pound bass in one day luck.
  3. like i said, you are a fishing machine!!! we need to fish together more so i can figure out what your doing.
  4. the launch at otternic has been blocked off for over a month(you can still carry a canoe in). they are treating it for fanwart, an invasive plant. my niebor caught a bunch of fish yesterday at robinson but nothing big.
  5. it was definetly a good time. one of the best trips ive had in a while. you are a fishing machine!!! now, if i can only remember how we got there.
  6. the canal is 3 miles long. there is a wide spot about 2000 ft after the highway bridge. it might be easyer to put from the foot access at mines falls on perry ave although you will have to carry your boat for a bit. you should probably check it out on foot first. there tons of fish in the canal.
  7. catchbig0bass, check your pm's
  8. i caught one bass. 1.1#'s. wife caught a big pickeral. we were fishing spinnerbaits trying to cover as much water as possable. we found a couple of spots we were going to go back to tomorow with t-rigged worms. bummer, tournement is canceled due to water level. i traded in my uglystick lite for a shimano carbomax. seems like a nice rod. i will test it tomorow.
  9. this definetly sucks!!! we were there today and didnt have any problems.
  10. took the shakespear for a test run today and hated it. too stiff, not sensative. im going to see if i can exchange it tonight for another. us to. you cant beat a boat. sometimes its like x-mass picking all the lures out of the trees in the water. you can tell from the water where all the shore fishermen fish by looking at the tree's. my wife found a nice shallow diving crankbait last month.
  11. also, we checked out the river for a couple of hours(our first time there). water is real low according to locals. wife managed a pickeral and i caught this bass.
  12. we picked up some paper plates, plastic utensils(?), a roll of paper towels, and some rootbeer at waly world today.
  13. wagn, im going to walmart(super center) tomorow. do we need anything else for the barbecue after the tournement sunday?
  14. got out to the nashua canal yesterday to do some shore fishing and caught a little one on a 3-1/2" floating minnow. then i went to a private pond in hudson and caught two more. one got caught on a tree in the water and i lost a spinnerbait. to make things worse (and to also remind me why i hate shore fishing so much) i broke my rod trying to shake the fish/spinnerbait from the tree. i bought a new uglystick lite today and am going to pre-fish the river in gofstown tomorow. see everybody who's going sunday. check out the weeds in the canal.
  15. went out on foot today with my son and got my first hit on a snagproof frog. i didnt get the fish but it was pretty cool to watch. we also saw unhbass catch a couple from his boat. fishing has been slow for us too lately.
  16. i caught a bass at stevens pond yesterday. it was under a #.
  17. fished the rocks a few weeks back at plumb island and didnt have any luck. we saw a couple caught but only one keeper. iwent out in my buddys boat with my neibor in salsbury last weekend and collectively we caught 7 fish. two 26-1/2" but no keepers. i heard everything is messed up because of the weather.
  18. i get about 20 or so feet using 8# diameter braid on a 6'6" spinning rod with the 3-1/2" version. my wife uses a splitshot weight about 12" before the lure and it helps her cast. it also makes the lure run a little deeper. we've hooked everything imaginable on the floating minnow.
  19. jesus christ unh!!! you the man!!! how much do you chrarge to be a guide? i need to learn how to fish other than pounding the shore. let me know when you want to go fishing. the pond i was talking about is gumpas. ive been waiting for my neibor to have some time so we can launch my boat from that path. its gonna take some muscle to launch from what ive seen. ive read on this sight about 7#'ers at gumpas. people who live on the lake are pretty uptight from what ive heard.
  20. are you talking about harris pond? there is another pond that i know of in pelham but im not sure if it is privet or not. will tell you guys if i ever get out there.
  21. caught a couple small ones at "new secret spot" today. went to another place this evening and caught 3 pickeral, 1 weighing 2#'s. wife also caught 3 pickeral and a perch.
  22. when was naticook closed? i was there a few weeks ago. too much boat traffic for me. read through the thread called "anyone have any luck...." and you will see all good fishing area's in southern nh.
  23. the canal is down back to the left. water enters the mill pond from the nashua river at the gatehouse before the d**n(between where you were fishing and the launch). the canal is 3 miles long and full of millfoil. i have caught bass in the canal over by the millyard. the water is pretty stagnant there because most of the water exits from mill pond. heard there are some monsters in there. good luck.
  24. bummer. i feel as though i might have a chance now.
  25. not sure what time we were there but i know it was late afternoon. there was a canue and a fishing kyak out there when we launched and at least 5 other people fishing not including catchbigbass. weve been doing ok, definetly not as good as your sons. i have this week off. we should take our boats up to check out the tourny fishing area. my wife caught a 10oz crappie at round pond today. we were only there for about a half hour before it started raining and it was our third body of water today so we went home before we got soaked. there are some spots in there over 7 feet deep. the bottom is covered with weeds and the water is very clear. we have caught bass there before. most of it is shallow but we do best in less than 4 feet of water. nice seeing you too. did you catch that fish where we saw you fishing? i caught the one in my avitar by the tree down in the water. wife caught her monster from the bank on the other side. have you tried the right side of the launch? weve done best there shore fishing from the right of the launch to the back. there are some big sunfish and perch in the canal which should keep your GF interested if she likes the quick pace of sunfishing. if you can talk her into using a floating minnow, it'll still catch sunfish but also raise her chance at catching a bass or pickeral. have you guys tried the canal?
